UP FOR BIDS IS THIS BLACK ON BLACK MAZDA RX8 WITH GRAND TOURING AND APPEARANCE PACKAGE WHICH THERE IS AN INTRESTING STORY BEHIND...I ACTUALLY HAVE HAD THIS CAR TWICE??? HOW U ASKED?? WELL IT GOES LIKE THIS ....BACK IN 2006 MY FRIEND BOUGHT THE CAR WITH AROUND 14,000 MILES ON IT FOR A LITTLE OVER 13K AND PUT 9K AS A DOWN PAYMENT WELL AFTER ABOUT 3 PAYMENTS HE WAS OBLIGATED BY MILITARY REASONS TO SHIP OUT AND LEFT THE CAR IN MY GARAGE WHERE HE FIGURED IT COULD STAY WHILE HE WAS AWAY AND I HAD NO PROBLEM WITH IT AS LONG AS HE PAID FOR HIS SIDE OF THE GARAGE...AFTER 2 MONTHS OF BEING AWAY HIS WIFE FILED FOR DIVORCE AND HIS WORLD CAME DOWN AND AS YOU CAN IMAGINE THE CAR WAS FORGOTTEN AND SO WERE THE PAYMENTS HE OWED ON IT..AFTER TRYING A DOZEN TIMES TO GET A HOLD OF HIM I CONTACTED HIS WIFE WHO DID NOT KNOW THE CAR EXISTED AND WAS NOT HAPPY BUT NOT CAPABLE OF PAYING OFF THE BALANCE EITHER SO I WORKED A DEAL OUT TO GIVE HER 4,OOO AND PAY THE BALANCE OFF WITH THE CONDITION THAT HALF THE MONEY BE SENT TO HIM....OK SO I HAD THE CAR AND I DROVE IT ABOUT 1000 TO 1500 MILES A YEAR IN THE SUMMERS FOR ABOUT THE NEXT 6 YEARS UNTIL LAST YEAR WHEN THE OWNER OF THE DEALERSHIP ACROSS THE STREET APPROACHED ME AND TOLD ME ONE OF HIS CUSTOMERS SAW IT AND WAS INTRESTED IN IT AND WOULD I SELL IT ? I SAID YES AND HE GOT A 500 DEPOSIT FOR THE CAR AND PAID ME OFF TO SELL IT TO THE OTHER GUY...WELL THE OTHER GUY NEVER CAME BACK AND HE WAS STUCK WITH IT NOW..HE PUT IT IN THE FRONT ROW FOR $9500 AND IT SAT THERE UNTIL WINTER CAME LAST YEAR. WELL AFTER LETTING IT SIT AND THEN FINALLY FLOODING IT TO DEATH HE MOVED IT TO THE BACK OF THE LOT WHERE IT SAT FOR 5 MONTHS UNTIL HE APPROACHED ME RECENTLY ASKING IF I WANTED TO BUY IT BACK AND AT FIRST I SAID NO BECAUSE I HAVE BACK PROBLEMS AND THE CAR SITS LOW SO I WASNT INTRESTED BUT AFTER HIM COMING BACK AND TELLING ME THEY LOST THERE LEASE AND ALL THE CARS HAVE TO BE OFF THE LOT I BECAME INTRESTED...SO I TOLD HIM GIVE ME AGOOD PRICE AND IF I CAN START IT ILL BUY IT BACK.. I WENT WITH A CHARGED BATTERY AND TOOK THE PLUGS OUT AND CLEANED THEM AND IT STARTED RIGHT UP..SO HERES WHERE WE ARE NOW..THE CAR STILL LOOKS GOOD AND THE INSIDE IS STILL NICE WITH NO RIPS OR TEARS EVERYTHING WORKS STILL ALTHOUGH IT DOES NEED COSMETICS....THE PLASTIC HANDLE COVERTHAT LIFTS THE SEAT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE IS BROKEN (ITS JUST THE PLASTIC COVER NOT THE HANDLE) HOWEVER THE PLASTIC ON PASSENGER REAR DOOR IS CRACKED AT THE BOTTOM(I DONT KNOW HOW THAT HAPPENED) THERE IS A DENT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR THAT HE SAID CAME FROM THEM BACKING AN SUV TO CLOSE TO IT IN THE LOT BUT I TOOK THE PANEL OFF AND PUSHED IT OUT SO IT LOOKS BETTER THAN WHEN I GOT IT..IT ALSO HAS A SCUFF NOT SO MUCH A DENT BUT MORE A SCUFF WHERE SOMEONE RUBBED THERE CAR AGAINST THE BACK DRIVER SIDE WHILE IT WAS PARKED BY MY HOUSE..I TRIED TO GET IT IN THE PICTURES BUT ITS NOT VERY OBVIOUS LOOKING..MAYBE A BUFF WILL GET MOST OF IT OUT..OK! NOW!!! FOR THE OBVIOUS..ITS GOING TO NEED OR IF IT WAS ME I WOULD DEFINATELY GET NEW SPARK PLUGS THE ONES IT HAS ARE THE ORIGINALS..ALSO WIRES AS WELL..IN OTHER WORDS IT NEEDS A TUNE UP BECAUSE ITS BEEN NEGLECTED AND I WOULD ALSO GET A NEW STARTER BECAUSE THIS ONE WAS RECALLED (which i found out when i called to verify the mileage was actual and according to mazdas records it is!) FOR NOT HAVING ENOUGH TURNING POWER AND A NEW BATTERY...IN OTHER WORDS BE PREPARED TO SPEND $500 TO GET HER THE WAY SHE NEEDS TO BE..THE GOOD NEWS IS!!!! THE AUCTION STARTS LOW AND THE CAR IS ABSOLUTELY WORTH THE STARTING BID.!!!!..CONSIDER THE RIMS ON THE CAR NOW ..FREE, THEY WERE GIVEN TO ME BY A BUDDY BECAUSE ONE HAS REALLY BAD CURB RASH AND THE OTHERS HAVE SLIGHT RASH..THE CAR WILL COME WITH THE ORIGINAL SET OF RIMS AS WELL WHICH ARE IN GOOD SHAPE IF YOU WANT THEM TOO...THE MILEAGE IS UNDER 23500 AS LISTED BUT IM DRIVING IT STILL SO EXPECT IT TO BE CLOSE GIVE OR TAKE 100 MILES.....ITS NOT PERFECT AND IT NEEDS SOME LOVE BUT IT HAS LOW MILES RUNS AND DRIVES AND IS WORTH THE STARTING BID OF $5000..ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU CONSIDER THERE ARE CRASHED RX8s WITH HIGH MILES AND SALVAGE TITLES GOING FOR THE SAME PRICE AND YOU CANT EVEN DRIVE THEM...ASK QUESTIONS !! Mazda3 Skyactiv-Hybrid and CNG Concept shown in Japan
Thu, 21 Nov 2013Mazda has received a tremendous amount of public and industry praise in the last few years, following up the successful introduction of its Skyactiv technology (powertrain and otherwise), with strong products like CX-5, Mazda6 and most recently, the Mazda3. At the Tokyo Motor Show, Mazda has taken yet another step forward with Skyactiv and the 3, showing the compact (called "Axela" in Japan) with an all-new compressed natural gas engine in the Skyactiv-CNG Concept.
The end result of the Skyactiv-Hybrid is fuel consumption estimated at something like 74 miles per gallon.
Mazda thinks that CNG-powered vehicles are due for an uptick in demand, and the company believes this new powertrain will add valuable breadth to the Mazda3 range. The CNG Concept is actually a duel-fuel vehicle, capable of running on either natural gas or gasoline. In fact, we're told that the high compression ratio (14:1) inherent in Skyactiv-technology gasoline engines makes conversion to CNG particularly simple.

Tue, 14 Oct 2014The 2015 Mazda2 is quite high up on our must-drive list. Yes, the teeny, tiny successor to the 100-horsepower five-door is worth getting excited over, largely because the previous generation was one of the absolute best smiles-per-dollar values on the market.
While we eagerly await for our opportunity to take to the 2's helm, our expectations of the new car have just been heightened thanks to its win in Japan's Car of the Year competition. Called "Demio" in the land of the rising sun, Japanese journalists handed out Mazda's second COTY award since the CX-5 took the title in 2012.
In more surprising news, the new Jeep Cherokee has made the list of 10 Best Cars in Japan. The Jeep's triumph marks the first time an American car has cracked the top ten, finishing eighth. It's not, however, the first Fiat Chrysler vehicle to snag the title, following in the footsteps of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta and Fiat Panda. Still, the fact that an American brand can make such impressive inroads into the traditionally tough-to-crack Japanese market is a seriously big deal.

Wed, 10 Jul 2013Thanks to the folks at Top Gear Russia, we got an early glimpse of the 2014 Mazda3 sedan. Now, Mazda has released more images of its sleek new four-door, and if you like what the Japanese automaker has done with the five-door hatchback, you won't find anything to complain about with the sedan.
Many would argue that the Mazda3 sedan looks like a scaled-down version of the new Mazda6, and in many cases, that's true. But there are subtle details about the Mazda3 that we really like, starting with the larger grille that makes for a slightly more aggressive front end. On the profile, we like how the strong arching character lines that flow over the front and rear wheel wells intersect in the middle of the car and then taper off. At the rear, a short decklid rounds off a very clean design with taillamps that are indeed reminiscent of the larger Mazda6.
We can't yet confirm powertrain details (or any other specifications, really), but we fully expect the same 2.0-liter and 2.5-liter Skyactiv-G engines to carry over from the hatchback, as well as the six-speed automatic and manual transmissions.
