Vehicle is not running and has been sitting for years. Previous owner took engine out of another 220D and replaced the original because he did not know what was wrong with it. He did not know diesel engines and didn't check the glow plugs! The engine in it now was not completely installed. We completed installation and found the engine to have no compression. We still have the original engine which comes with the vehicle. I am selling the vehicle as is as I no longer have a place to store or money to move and store the vehicle. I have local offers on the vehicle, but they are way too low for this! The body is in extremely good condition. There is one area that is rusted on the driverside trunk lower panel which is pictured. I may have a replacement piece for this which could be welded on for a near perfect body. The bumpers and grill are in very goood condition as well as nearly all the trim including the lower trim! .. The odometer reads 54892 and it seems like that is accurate! This vehicle has just been sitting for way too long. Someone take and restore it!! Email me with any questions..
Buyer tows vehicle or pays all shipping cost.. The radiator looks good but was tested and leaks. Comes with extra parts including engine, hood , doors, transmission, grill
Just realized the pics of the back of the car, rear bumper and trunk did not come out. will take more and post later.. It is in great condition.

Mercedes CLA45 AMG Racing is ready for a spot on the grid
Tue, 10 Sep 2013Mercedes-Benz trotted out its CLA45 AMG-based racer at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. We first showed you the sedan in the deluge of news and reveals that precedes most good auto shows, and were blown away by the car, formally known as the CLA45 AMG Racing Series.
We were strolling by the Mercedes stand, and figured we'd pop in and take a look at the new racer and its carbon-fiber body panels, gutted interior, and race-sourced aero parts. It's a looker, both as a road car and a track weapon. It's not clear what series the CLA45 AMG will qualify for, although it does seem like a shoe-in for the World Touring Car Championship. Let us know what you think of the CLA racer down in the comments. In the meantime, we've got a full gallery of live images up top, along with the stock images that were posted last week on the Mercedes-Benz Facebook page.
Autoblog drives to the Arctic Circle
Fri, 22 Mar 2013In Which Mercedes' Sprinter Becomes A Long-Distance Sherpa
In the wintery wilds of northern Alaska, even the cute little critters want to kill you.
As I am about to nod off on my long leg flight from Minneapolis to Anchorage ahead of driving to the Arctic Circle, the friendly twenty-something Alaskan knitting furiously in the seat next to me pauses and says, "When you're driving up there, don't open your windows." In the dead of winter? I hadn't planned on cruising alfresco, but her warning to keep the glazing snugged against the weatherstripping is one I would take to heart. She continues: "If you leave 'em open, a fox is liable to jump right in. There are lots of rabid foxes up there, and they leap into your car and just Go. To. Town." And here I was, thinking that a curious bear or maybe an ill-placed moose in the road was going to be my biggest potential four-legged threat. In the wintery wilds of northern Alaska, even the cute little critters want to kill you.
New Mercedes Unimog debuts to the cheers of little boys everywhere [w/video]
Sat, 27 Apr 2013The Mercedes Unimog, the superhero villain of the off-road world that's just waiting to make the jump to Transformer, has been completely upgraded for its new generation. There are ten models, expanding the range and getting new designations across the traditional all-terrain series and the implement-carrier series. Panoramic cabins get more visibility, multifunction steering wheels and better dash clusters, improved HVAC and a three-mode central tire inflation system. Outside, there are new items like LED headlights and daytime running lamps in the bumper, roof-mounted windshield wipers and a front-camera monitor for the implement carrier.
The new engine lineup is compliant with Euro VI, featuring four- and six-cylinder BlueEfficiency engines putting out anywhere from 156 horsepower to 354 hp. Powerplant placement has also been tweaked, the chassis members getting a revised curve to place the engine a bit further back and lower, maintaining off-road clearance and lowering the Unimog's center of gravity. The new location of the engine means the cabin has more room, and the wheelbase is shorter. Combined with a higher turning angle, the Unimog has a smaller turning radius than before.
The implement carrier gets what's called a "synergistic traveling drive," the bonus being that drivers don't need to stop in order to use an attachment - a hydrostatic transmission works with the regular manual transmission at up to 31 kilometers per hour for seamless switching.
