2 Previous Owners Well Maintained (loads Of Records) 1969 Mercedes 280s Saloon on 2040-cars
Everett, Washington, United States
Fresh out of a 3 year nap in heated garage space this well maintained 1969 Mercedes 280S saloon is in remarkable condition. I purchased this car from the 2nd owner that truly had a love affair with this car. He is a local Doctor and took very good care of it. The car was purchased here in Seattle new at Phil Smart Mercedes Benz. Car has loads of service documents along with the original service book. The car starts right up however does require a little warm up before moving. It drives very well. shifts through gears as it should. Sounds as is should for this vintage car. Heater blower motor does not seem to blow.Windows are a little slow however I have been using the drivers side window and it has become a little quicker moving up and down. Rear carpets where pulled up in prep for install of new carpet. The former owner fell ill and never completed this task. Car has been repainted once in its' original cream colour. MB tex is in very good shape there is a small puncture in drivers seat...former owner indicated he foolishly had scissors in his back pocket...then stated "I guess it could have been alot worse". This car is a great running vehicle and with very little effort to be a perfect car. Car is being sold locally and this auction is subject to cancellation at any time. If you have questions or need more pictures please feel free to contact me. On New Years Day I drove this car down to Portland OR and back without any issues. It is definite road car...seems the higher the speed the smoother the ride.

2013 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG
Fri, 22 Feb 2013Make way for the 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG, the most wonderfully preposterous car I have ever driven.
There is absolutely no reason why any two-seat roadster should be fitted with a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12 developing 621 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque, but I sure am glad that Mercedes-Benz doesn't see things that way.
Drop into the leather-lined cockpit of this $213,145 provocateur, floor the accelerator pedal as I did over and over again, and 60 miles per hour falls in a traction-limited 3.9 seconds. Top speed has been electronically held to 186 mph (this apparently saves Gulfstream jet owners from embarrassment). Forget the SL550 and SL63 AMG, the valets will trip over themselves attending to the tycoon driving this thoroughbred - it's the real deal.
Test drive the Mercedes SLS AMG Electric Drive with Chris Harris
Thu, 11 Apr 2013It's hard to not like the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT. The all-aluminum coupe is fitted with a wonderful naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8 delivering 583 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. Not only does the burly combustion engine launch the two-seater to 60 miles per hour in less than four seconds, but it does so with one of the world's greatest exhaust soundtracks as it roars, burbles and cackles down the road.
But what happens when Mercedes-Benz takes away the V8 and its accompanying fire-burning song? Stripped of one of its most appealing assets, does the SLS lose its soul?
Chris Harris recently had the opportunity to take the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Electric Drive for a track spin in Europe. Sans gasoline, but with four electric motors providing a combined 740 horsepower (737 pound-feet of torque), all-electric all-wheel drive coupe uses sophisticated torque vectoring and a multi-mode operating system to put oversteer - drifting! - back into the equation. Fun? You bet. See for yourself, below.
Mercedes-Benz S-Class spied once again
Fri, 08 Feb 2013As evidenced by how little camouflage the next-generation Mercedes-Benz S-Class has been caught wearing lately, it can't be too much longer until the car will get its official debut. In our newest shots of the yacht-sized luxo sedan, the cladding still covers up the headlights, front fascia and most of the rear end, but we finally have an almost undisguised look at the rest of the car's lines.
Considering previous spy shots had more camo that better (or fully) concealed the S-Class' body, some of the more obvious things we see in these images include the prominent grille, the CLS-Class-inspired bodyside creases, the pointed trunk opening and, most interestingly, a lack of fancy exhaust outlets. Unlike other S-Class prototypes we've seen, this car does not have integrated outlets, but it does have two pipes on the left side of the car. All current S-Class models in the US and Europe feature a dual exhaust layout on each side of the car, so while some of our questions about the car get answered, it would appear that more are just arising.
