1984 Mercedes 300d No Reserve Euro on 2040-cars
Hamilton, Indiana, United States
1984 300D European version with the non-turbo engine and cloth seats, and small bumpers. The car runs well and starts immediately in all weather without a block heater. Drives straight and true, brakes--no pulsing or pulling. Trans shifts firmly with no flaring between gears. Handles well, Euro version much lighter. Has the manual A/C like a 240D. Power windows on the front only, both work. Recent work done; valves adjusted, valve cover gasket, all new steering linkage and steering damper, brakes checked (about 80% left on pads) new front brake hoses. Tires (about 70%) and exhaust are pretty new. New motor and transmission mount. Trans oil and filter changed. Seat pads are new, I moved the drivers seat cover to the passenger side because it was starting to wear. Issues: clock has stopped, the wipers do not park (I have a spare combination switch included), the dome light does not work, the air conditioning does not work. I am unsure of the sunroof, I have not tried it. The odometer works but the trip meter does not. The true mileage is not documented but the car runs and drives like a low mile car. The dash is cracked like most blue dashes, a cover is about $110. The rest of the interior is quite nice. I think the car has had rust repair in the rear at the trailing edge and the front spoiler, the rear wheel lips are nice and the jack points are solid, the floors are solid and original. Please note: eBay would not allow a Euro title, Title is WDB1231301A199078. Clear Indiana title with no issues. I have transferred many Euro titles with no problems. Thanks, Mike Also, new rear shocks and sway bar links. New front brake hoses. New air filter.

Mercedes CLA45 AMG Racing is ready for a spot on the grid
Tue, 10 Sep 2013Mercedes-Benz trotted out its CLA45 AMG-based racer at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. We first showed you the sedan in the deluge of news and reveals that precedes most good auto shows, and were blown away by the car, formally known as the CLA45 AMG Racing Series.
We were strolling by the Mercedes stand, and figured we'd pop in and take a look at the new racer and its carbon-fiber body panels, gutted interior, and race-sourced aero parts. It's a looker, both as a road car and a track weapon. It's not clear what series the CLA45 AMG will qualify for, although it does seem like a shoe-in for the World Touring Car Championship. Let us know what you think of the CLA racer down in the comments. In the meantime, we've got a full gallery of live images up top, along with the stock images that were posted last week on the Mercedes-Benz Facebook page.
Mercedes fits new C-Class with AMG kit
Sat, 28 Dec 2013It's only been a week and a half since Mercedes-Benz revealed the new C-Class, and it'll likely be a while yet before the replacement for the C63 AMG comes along. But if you want to see a preview of what it'll look like, look no further than the AMG aero kit that has just surfaced.
Expected to debut on the new C-Class at the fast-approaching Detroit Auto Show, the AMG Line Exterior Pack adds a new bumpers front and rear, side skirts, dual exhaust tips, mesh grille, aluminum window frames and - most importantly - 18-inch alloys packing upgraded brakes and fitted to a lowered sport suspension. All of which will help any C-Class look the part, even if the engine remains stock.
New details emerge on forthcoming Mercedes-Benz SLC
Sat, 02 Feb 2013Last we heard, the Mercedes-Benz SLC had been put on indefinite hold, but now Car Magazine is reporting that the Porsche 911-fighting "Baby SLS" coupe could be on sale by 2015. Riding on a modified SLS AMG chassis, the smaller and lighter SLC could be priced in the sub-$100,000 price bracket.
We'd already heard that the new car would feature conventional doors (instead of SLS-like gullwing doors), but this report focuses on some of the possible powertrains Mercedes-Benz is likely to use. At launch, the SLC could offer a pair of V8-powered models - a 485-horsepower SLC and a 585-hp SLC S - both being powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8. About a year after launch, a new V6 model could emerge giving the SLC an estimated 333 horsepower and its lowest price point.
It also sounds like the car's name hasn't been completely finalized as some people within Mercedes are favoring a return of the SLR name.
