1985 300cd in very good condition. Starts right up and drives straight and tight. Transmission shifts smoothly with no thud or bang.A/C has been converted to R 134A and seems to hold a charge.All windows and sunroof operate as they should.Power anenna functions properly as well. The vehicle has been repainted to a near showroom luster.The ignition switch functions smoothly but I do have a brand new "keyed alike" complete switch, not just the tumbler that goes with car. The interior is fantastic with just a few little things like the piping on arm rest is cracked in a few places and what look like a few stitches on drivers seat has come loose in one of the pleats. The dash is near perfect with a less than one inch crack by the passenger speaker. Tires are fresh and have a lot of miles left on them. All of the jack holes are solid with no rust at all in that area as well as the wheel wells. There is one spot under the trunk lid that need a little attention(pictured)..The cruise control does not function and I have not looked into it other than on-line.Could be the "amplifier"but that's just a quess.Overall it's a fine car It's just that I own 2 coupes and can only drive one at a time. In closing this engine with its prechamber is ideal for a bio fuel or WVO convertion. Good luck.

Mercedes CLA45 AMG Racing is ready for a spot on the grid
Tue, 10 Sep 2013Mercedes-Benz trotted out its CLA45 AMG-based racer at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. We first showed you the sedan in the deluge of news and reveals that precedes most good auto shows, and were blown away by the car, formally known as the CLA45 AMG Racing Series.
We were strolling by the Mercedes stand, and figured we'd pop in and take a look at the new racer and its carbon-fiber body panels, gutted interior, and race-sourced aero parts. It's a looker, both as a road car and a track weapon. It's not clear what series the CLA45 AMG will qualify for, although it does seem like a shoe-in for the World Touring Car Championship. Zetsche's CEO tenure extended through 2016 at Daimler
Sun, 24 Feb 2013There appear to be two takes on Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche having his contract extended for three more years, to 2016. A report in The Detroit News quotes the chairman of Daimler's supervisory board, Manfred Bischoff, talking up the stability at the top, "With today's extensions of the contracts of Dieter Zetsche and Thomas Weber, we are maintaining the important continuity at the top executive level." Bischoff also stated that that Zetsche has a plan to "further enhance Daimler's overall performance."
Over at Reuters, though, the three-year extension was seen as a lack of complete confidence in Zetsche's plans, since his contract was supposedly meant to be extended by five years. A spokesman said the board decided to extend executive contracts by only three years if the person was 60 or would turn 60 during the contract, but that was news to observers. Zetsche wants to make Mercedes-Benz the top selling luxury manufacturer globally by 2020, but has fallen to third place behind Audi and BMW. It hasn't held the top spot 2005, and investors judged it valued at half that of BMW at the end of 2012 once Daimler's truck business was subtracted.
Analysts cites the fact that Daimler stock hasn't bested its rivals but twice in twelve years, and that the company revised its profit target downward last year by nearly one billion euros, warning of stagnant earnings this year and will miss its original margin target for 2013.
2014 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG rumbles on stage 4Matic style
Mon, 14 Jan 2013Bruce Hornsby and his soothing piano skills helped introduce us to the 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class, but the monstrous E63 AMG sedan needed no entrance music as it rumbled on stage. The 550-horsepower (and up) sedan sat proudly alongside the rest of the redesigned E-Class on stage at the Detroit Auto Show, but stood miles apart in intention and execution.
In addition to a choice of sedan and wagon body styles, the E63 AMG will also offer buyers the choice of the standard 550 hp or an upgraded 577-hp S-Model; regardless of output, all 2014 E63 AMG models will come standard with the 4Matic all-wheel-drive system.
