Powerfull 6 cyl Turbo Diesel engine backed up with automatic transmission that runs well and has lots of power and life left in. Vehicle has newer powdercoated rims with michelin tires and brakes on all 4 corners with less then 5,000 miles on them. Leather interior is in decent shape, some color loss but overall rather nice condition. Carpets are decent, but im sure they could use a shampoo (something i do when i buy a uesd car myself).... overall what one expects when looking at a car of this vintage after having seen a few. Windows and locks and mirrors all work. Vehicle has Euro style Headlamps also. Any and all repairs and maintenace done while I owned it have used genuine MB parts. A few years ago while i replaced a leaking seal on the IP I also UPGRADED the engine mount vacumme pump to the new updated style (around a $600 part if i rememeber right). Vehicle also has newer motor mounts. It runs cool @ 80C. Included and installed on vehicle is a genuine mercedes hood ornament and wheel centers, they are not seen in all of the photos only some as i took the photos over the course of the day while washing the car to prep for sale and had not installed them until i was almost finished... that is why they can only be seen in a few photos. This vehicle is a perfect candidate to drive on Veggy oil or WVO. Mercedes-AMG GT attacks Circuit of the Americas
Fri, 12 Sep 2014Mercedes-Benz is having a banner year with its Formula One team. Through 2014, the constructor has 454 championship points; ahead of its nearest competitor (Red Bull-Renault) by a margin of 182 tally marks. We're sure they can almost taste the champagne.
It's fitting then, and a little big cocky in a good way, that Mercedes has released a video of its newest sports car at an F1 venue. In this case, the car is the lovely Mercedes-AMG GT S, and the racetrack is Austin's Circuit of the Americas.
Having seen the official photo set and scratched the surface of the technical specifications earlier this week, we're excited to finally hear the thing run. As you might guess, the deployment of 503 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque from the twin-turbo V8 is a motivating experience. Crank up your volume, and hit that play button. (Oh, and Mercedes shot the thing in 4K, too, so those of you with expensive televisions/monitors should take heed to the settings.)
Russia gives its Olympic medalists new Mercedes
Thu, 27 Feb 2014Russian medalists at the recently concluded Sochi Winter Olympics are being rewarded quite handsomely for their service to the Motherland. In addition to the $120,000 being handed out for each gold medal, the $76,000 being awarded for slivers and $52,000 given to bronze winners, now word has come out that each of Russia's medalists will be gifted a new Mercedes-Benz.
As with the prize amounts, the type of Mercedes offered was based on what sort of medal was won. Gold medalists got a new GL-Class, silver medalists were given an ML and bronze medalists were treated to a GLK. As prices for Mercedes are higher in Russia, the cheapest model, the GLK, was the equivalent of $59,500, according to The Moscow Times. The cars were handed out by Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, pictured above with figure skating medalist Julia Lipnitskaia.
"I was a bit shocked at the car I was given," Anton Shipulin, a member of the gold-medal biathlon relay team, told RIA-Novosti. "Of course I knew what kind of model it would be, but I didn't totally believe it." For athletes not old enough to drive, like 15-year-old Lipnitskaia, their Mercedes will come complete with a driver.
Mercedes-Benz killing Maybach in 2013, replacing with S600 Pullman
Fri, 25 Nov 2011According to an unnamed Mercedes-Benz source speaking with AutoWeek, the German automaker is killing off its Maybach line in 2013.
The unsurprising news comes after the brand was resurrected in 2002, but failed to meet sales expectations with its two core models, the Maybach 57 and 62. Further solidifying its fate, a deal with Aston Martin to aid in the development of future Maybachs fell through earlier this year.
According to the AutoWeek insider, the plan is to continue to sell both Maybach models through the end of 2013, after which the fifth-generation S-Class will go on sale. When that happens, three new variants of the S-Class will be available, including an all-new, range-topping S600 that brings back the Pullman moniker and may be better suited to competing with the likes of Bentley and Rolls-Royce.
