NO RESERVE AUCTION. I WILL DELIVER ANYWHERE IN THE USA IF YOU BUY IT NOW.

Selling my excellent example of an early 300 turbo diesel coupe. The coupes are getting harder and harder to find in good shape, they made a very limited number of them compared to the sedans and wagons. This car has only had two owners and has been very well taken care of. I love this car and it is hard for me to let it go but I am afraid I don't have the room in my garage for it anymore.

It runs and drives excellently, will start easy on the coldest of mornings. The transmission fluid has just been changed and it shifts smooth. All the lights work, and all the power options work with the exception of the passenger window, which will roll down but needs a little help to roll back up. I believe the mechanism needs to be lubricated.

The interior is an 8/10, it is complete, clean, and in excellent shape. The seats have minor cracking but in general the leather is still soft and smooth. I have to be honest, this car was smoked in by the original owner, but not by me. The smell is still noticeable but I will have the car shampooed and ozonated before delivery.

The body is also an 8/10. The paint is mint, there are no dings or dents or scratches. There is an area of surface rust near the seam to the side of the drivers side tail light. The trunk, undercarriage, floorpans, battery tray etc are rust free.

The wheels are in good condition and come with a set of nearly new studded snow tires on them ( a necessity on a rwd car in utah) and also a set of summer tires with at least 50% tread left.

The car is quiet, smooth and powerful. It cruises at 100mph as easily as it does 30. It is an extremely nice car to drive. The motor seeps some oil but does not burn any. I would not hesitate to get in this car and drive it coast to coast. It has some vibration at idle, and it may need a passenger side motor mount, or it may be just a diesel thing, I've never owned another so I have no point of reference. It had the timing done about 1 year ago. I have every dealer maintenance record until almost 200,000 miles, and many service records from 200k till 280.

I know this is my first sale on ebay, so please contact me if you feel uncomfortable in any way. You are free to message me, text me or call me at any time! I can provide more pictures and videos upon request.

PAYMENT: Cashiers Check will be the only method of payment I will be accepting. I will also take cash in person locally. I am not requiring a deposit, but all I can ask is that you DO NOT BID if you are not a serious buyer. There are bidders out there who genuinely want the car, so please let them have a fair auction for it.

SHIPPING: Shipping is up to you, but you are more than welcome to contact me to arrange delivery by me. I can deliver it to you cheaper than a shipping company if you live in the western states. Also, please keep in mind that I will deliver it any where in the country if you use the buy it now price! The car has a clean clear utah title in hand ready to sell.

PLEASE READ THE WHOLE DESCRIPTION BEFORE BIDDING. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE CONTACT ME ANY TIME AT 801-709-4666 OR MESSAGE ME THROUGH EBAY.

Mercedes leads in US luxury car thefts

Wed, 31 Jul 2013

Mercedes-Benz makes some fine automobiles. The Silver Arrow'd cars are so good, apparently, that thieves can't help but try to steal them. The German brand is at the top of the charts for luxury car thefts in the US, according to the National Insurance Crime Bureau, with New York City leading the way. (And those New Yorkers complain about Detroit being bad!)
The C-Class was the most stolen model, with 485 ganked between 2009 and 2012 in NYC alone, while the E-Class and S-Class (which also boasted the worst recovery rate, at 59 percent) both finished in the top ten. Following the C-Class was the BMW 3 Series and Infiniti G. Not surprisingly, each of these were the most common models in their respective lineups. Los Angeles and Miami are also prime hotspots for luxury car thefts, according to the Detroit News report.
While getting your car stolen is pretty awful, there was one inspiring statistic compiled by the NICB - the average recovery rate across the board was 84 percent, with the Cadillac CTS getting recovered 91 percent of the time.

Mercedes was set to sell version of Nissan Titan, now Infiniti might instead

Wed, 18 Sep 2013

Mercedes-Benz Titan. Mercedes-Benz Frontier. Mercedes-Benz pickup truck. None of these things roll off the tongue particularly well. We'd like to think that's the reason Daimler opted to kill the idea of rebadged Titan and Frontier pickups from corporate ally Nissan. In reality, the execution before the Frankfurt Motor Show was due to more complicated issues.
Yes, Mercedes, byword for German luxury, style and quality, would have slapped a three-pointed star on a pair of Japanese pickup trucks that have failed to resonate with consumers in the world's largest truck market. That slapping of badges isn't much of an exaggeration, at least on the outside. According to the report from Road & Track, the truck's front clip would have been tweaked, but beyond that, the sheetmetal would have been unchanged. The interior would have received a more thorough going-over by the team at Mercedes, while the suspension and noise, vibration and harshness tuning would have also received significant attention.
The trucks would have ended up being sold through the light-commercial branch of Mercedes-Benz - the same folks that will happily sell you a Sprinter van - had the deal gone through. Issues arose, though, first with the engines. Mercedes wanted a wider range of powertrains to allow it to tune models for specific markets, while Nissan said it couldn't engineer the wide variety of engines that MB wanted to drop under the hood. For the smaller truck, meanwhile, MB was interested in a hybrid or plug-in variant, according to R&T, although this was also shot down by Nissan.

Russia gives its Olympic medalists new Mercedes

Thu, 27 Feb 2014

Russian medalists at the recently concluded Sochi Winter Olympics are being rewarded quite handsomely for their service to the Motherland. In addition to the $120,000 being handed out for each gold medal, the $76,000 being awarded for slivers and $52,000 given to bronze winners, now word has come out that each of Russia's medalists will be gifted a new Mercedes-Benz.
As with the prize amounts, the type of Mercedes offered was based on what sort of medal was won. Gold medalists got a new GL-Class, silver medalists were given an ML and bronze medalists were treated to a GLK. As prices for Mercedes are higher in Russia, the cheapest model, the GLK, was the equivalent of $59,500, according to The Moscow Times. The cars were handed out by Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, pictured above with figure skating medalist Julia Lipnitskaia.
"I was a bit shocked at the car I was given," Anton Shipulin, a member of the gold-medal biathlon relay team, told RIA-Novosti. "Of course I knew what kind of model it would be, but I didn't totally believe it." For athletes not old enough to drive, like 15-year-old Lipnitskaia, their Mercedes will come complete with a driver.
