Im selling my 2008 mercedes c350 show car.Time to start a new project.this vehicle was Only used for show purposes only but you can drive it every day if u like..I'm the original owner,it only has 14000. miles .since i drove it in the summer only to shows. one of the 1st things we did was the wide body in front and back no kit hand made. also done to the body were the suicide doors,hand made rear diffuser,and front fenders.Paint is house of colors candy apple red and black two tone.Suspension air suspension 2 viar compressors 8 valves very nice set up look at pics. Exchaust custom madedual.Wheels rear 20x10.5 with 35 mm spacers and front 20x8..custom painted stretch look.Carbon fiber c63 look hood ,front lip,grille,mirror piece rear lip ,steering wheel, etc,etc.Interior is dark red sweade and carbon fiber inserts on the seats.carbon fiber dash trims red/black,etc.Engine stock except for the custom made intake,and panels made to cover the engine painted to match.Trunk show set up look at pics.Sound system 2 jl 10 l7,2 alpine 500/1 and 1 600/4. Clark Gable's 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing doesn't sell, then does sell for $1.85 million [UPDATE: w/video]
Sat, 19 Jan 2013How much extra value does previous celebrity ownership add to of a car? Really, there's no way to know until the car in question hits the auction block and bidders start raising their hands. In the case of the 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing you see above, the celebrity owner is none other than Clark Gable, who purchased it new. After Gable's death in 1960, the car changed hands a few times before settling with Charles Wood in 1975.
A high-dollar restoration was performed in 1989, and period accessories added by Gable himself were kept in place, including the Rudge knock-off wheels and Nardi steering wheel. Any Mercedes-Benz 300SL is worth a big chunk of money. In the case of Clark Gable's old Gullwing, the bidding stalled at $1.9 million here at the 2013 Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale. As one of the 5000-series cars, this 300SL carried a reserve, and a bit of after-the-fact dealmaking saw the car change hands for $1.85 million.

VW looking to MAN up, ditch Mercedes van deal
Wed, 16 Jan 2013Unlike the US, the commercial truck market throughout the rest of the world is chocked full of competitors from many different automakers. Since 2006, Volkswagen has had a fullsize van called the Crafter that was a result of a partnership with Daimler AG and based on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. This partnership is supposed to last through 2016, but Reuters is reporting that VW might be looking to end its relationship with Daimler and create its own van in cooperation with German truck and bus maker MAN.
The article says that VW AG has more than a 75-percent stake in MAN, which would essentially be keeping the new commercial vehicle in-house. Even if VW bolts, Daimler still has a deal worked out in the commercial truck industry between its subsidiary Mitsubishi Fuso and Renault-Nissan to supply the other with different trucks.
Volvo S60 Polestar concept plays in the snow with Mercedes C63 AMG
Thu, 24 Jan 2013Chris Harris took to a snowy stretch of tarmac to get a fingertips-on-the-wheel feel of the Volvo S60 Polestar concept. Harris says the turbocharged sedan with 508 horsepower and 424 pound-feet of torque - and a manual transmission - is "a study to see if Volvo can get back into the fast-car market." The Polestar S60 concept, one of which was already purchased for $300,000 by a private buyer, is still making the publicity rounds because even Volvo's Chinese owners realize that, as Harris says, "Volvo sold more cars because it made fast cars" like the old 850 T5 Wagon that stormed the British Touring Car Championship in the 1990s.
For reference, Harris compares the blue wonder to the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG and its 487 hp and 442 lb-ft. The question is, were Volvo to get the price of a production version of the S60 Polestar to climb way down from its 200,000-pound sticker, could it be worthy competition to the established giants?
