Hello Folks,

Up for auction is a supercharged ///AMG CL 55.This monster of a machine is superfast and powerful.Power is delivered through a race bred 5 speed automatic transmission. It delivers a jaw dropping 493 hp and 516ft/lbs of torque.Very few cars on the road can match the remarkable power this car has.The nice thing about this car is that a lady can drive this around town easily with no hint that it can deliver 500 horses with just a tip of the throttle. It's very civilized for daily driving or can easily be switched to sport mode for that ultimate track performance :)  I have always had great admiration and respect for Mercedes vehicles let alone the world famous ////AMG series.
I actually purchased this car as a project vehicle last year from a salvage dealer.I wanted to take my time to put it together and enjoy it as a secondary vehicle. It had front end damage which consisted of the  whole bumper assembly, radiators & intercoolers. The engine, transmission and interior was not affected. The car runs strong and transmission shifts smoothly.
I changed the radiators,A/C condensor ,Oil cooler, front bumper, support brackets, hydraulic accumulators for the suspension, hood & grill.Car also has a newly installed front windshield. I even changed the supercharger clutch bearing,There are a few things that may need to be updated. The front bumper actually is from a 2002 model. You may choose to update that or just use it as is.They look very similar. There are some plastics and mounting hardware that were damaged during the collision that may need to be updated if needed.Example the headlights have broken mounting tabs and I improvised just to ensure that they can function ok. Working good so far. They are quite expensive if you choose to buy new ones.Cost is $1500 each.Since they function okay I felt no need to change them.Sadly my focus has switched to acquiring a new truck for the wife with winter here now.Sure will hate to see my baby go!!!.But someone else can enjoy the beauty and power of this car. Please note that this car has a salvage title, which may require the next owner to have it inspected then registered. This inspection is different from your annual state emissions and inspection. What DMV will do is set up an appointment to have the car checked for VIN verification. This is to ensure that the car is what the VIN states  it to be.I had this car garaged most of the time and never got to register, inspect or title it.I however have all the original documents and Title ready on hand to sign off to the next owner. The car runs strong both engine and tranny. I will have no problem commuting with this baby from the East to the West Coast. Please also ensure that you have all funds available before purchase. No bank will approve you for purchasing or financing a vehicle with a salvage title, unless you are securing a personal loan of some sort.Good luck bidding.Get this awesome vehicle before it's gone for good!!!!! Best price around town!!  Feel free with any questions.Serious bidders only Please!!!
Thanks.

First official shot of Mercedes S-Class Coupe leaks out

Mon, 10 Feb 2014

With the official debut for the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe expected tomorrow, it shouldn't be a surprise that some clicky fingers have already managed to uncover an official image of the car before the unveiling. Outside of this sole image, though, there's precious little detail on the new car.
First posted by Autofilou and then picked up by WorldCarFans, the production S-Class Coupe isn't far off from the concept car we saw a few months back in Frankfurt. Like the concept, the leggy production model appears related, albeit distantly, to the S-Class Sedan. The hood and front fascia are longer and lower, befitting of a two-door, while the character lines in the profile are more pronounced. Obviously, the beltline and slim, B-pillarless greenhouse are coupe-only items. We can't see any details on the back of the car, although it does appear that the long hood has a correspondingly short rear deck.
We'll have all the details on the official replacement for the CL-Class when it makes its full debut tomorrow. Until then, what do you think of this lone image? Does it appear that Mercedes has got it right? In terms of design, where would you rank this with the departing CL-Class? Have your say in Comments.

Zetsche's CEO tenure extended through 2016 at Daimler

Sun, 24 Feb 2013

There appear to be two takes on Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche having his contract extended for three more years, to 2016. A report in The Detroit News quotes the chairman of Daimler's supervisory board, Manfred Bischoff, talking up the stability at the top, "With today's extensions of the contracts of Dieter Zetsche and Thomas Weber, we are maintaining the important continuity at the top executive level." Bischoff also stated that that Zetsche has a plan to "further enhance Daimler's overall performance."
Over at Reuters, though, the three-year extension was seen as a lack of complete confidence in Zetsche's plans, since his contract was supposedly meant to be extended by five years. A spokesman said the board decided to extend executive contracts by only three years if the person was 60 or would turn 60 during the contract, but that was news to observers. Zetsche wants to make Mercedes-Benz the top selling luxury manufacturer globally by 2020, but has fallen to third place behind Audi and BMW. It hasn't held the top spot 2005, and investors judged it valued at half that of BMW at the end of 2012 once Daimler's truck business was subtracted.
Analysts cites the fact that Daimler stock hasn't bested its rivals but twice in twelve years, and that the company revised its profit target downward last year by nearly one billion euros, warning of stagnant earnings this year and will miss its original margin target for 2013.

Artist imagines eerie world where cars have no wheels

Thu, 24 Jan 2013

The wheel ranks right up there with the telescope and four-slice toaster in the pantheon of inventions that have moved humankind forward. But what if a circle in three dimensions had never occurred to anyone, and we all had just moved on without it? Perhaps we'd be driving around in Lucas Motors Landspeeders with anti-gravity engines. Or maybe we'd have the same cars we do today, just without wheels.
That's the thought experiment that seems to have led French photographer Renaud Marion to create his six-image series called Air Drive. The shots depict cars throughout many eras of motoring that look normal except for one thing: they have no wheels. The models used include a Jaguar XK120, Cadillac DeVille (shown above), Chevrolet El Camino and Camaro, and Mercedes-Benz SL and 300 roadsters.
Perhaps one day when our future becomes our past, you'll be able to walk the street and see with your own eyes the rust and patina of age on our nation's fleet of floating cars. Until then, Monsieur Marion's photographs will have to do.
