1998 Mercedes Clk320 No Reserve on 2040-cars
Goshen, Ohio, United States
Private owner selling
my 1998 CLK 320 with 182K Miles This CLK is in excellent
condition. The interior is in great condition, with no rips or tears just
average wear (see pictures). All electronics
work, power windows, power seats, and power locks all work perfectly. The sunroof and rear window shade works
fine. However, the sunroof headliner
cover is stuck in the back position but it does not affect the sunroof. There is window tint on the back window, and
a sunstrip on the windshield. Brand new
windshield wiper, windshield has a small crack down by where the wiper rests. However it seals against air and water and doesn’t
affect the vision of the driver. As a Mercedes this
is an extremely comfortable car to drive, plenty of room and very accommodating
adjustable seats. A very smooth ride around town, or on the freeway it
has no vibrations or shakes. A/C blows
cold and the heat blows hot. However,
sometimes the center console vent doesn’t open but the blower works fine in all
the other vents. The side vents and the
windshield/rear window defrosters still blow fine. I just want to be thorough
in the description to insure no surprises or disappointments. The exterior of
the vehicle is in great shape with no body damage. The paint job is in excellent condition, may
have been re-sprayed recently. No rust, dents,
scratches, one small door ding close to the rear fender hardly noticeable does not
even show in the pictures. This is a fantastic
looking car with a nice body style. Rims
and tires are in excellent condition, tires are at about 75% wear and in great
shape. This CLK runs and drives
extremely well, the transmission shifts incredibly smooth, and the
steering is tight. The engine is in perfect running condition with
no mechanical issues. There is a check engine light on. It indicates that there is an exhaust leak but
the exhaust has been removed and re-secured and does not have a leak. Tried to
reset the check engine light but it will not go off. It and it DOES NOT affect
the performance, gas mileage or the way it drives. This is a very reliable car and would make
an excellent daily driver. This car has a fresh
synthetic oil change (oil/transmission) and a new valve cover gasket. Transmission was serviced with new filter and
synthetic fluid. POWER LOCKS AM/FM STEREO |

Mercedes-Petronas AMG W04 launched to little fanfare, lots of pressure [w/video]
Tue, 05 Feb 2013No indoor cocktail hour for the launch of the W04, the newest chassis built by the Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One team. Instead, Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton spent a morning in photo and video sessions at the track in Jerez, Spain then paused a moment to introduce the car. The team will want the W04 to demonstrate the World Championship credentials of the team personnel and one of the team drivers, instead of the mostly humble performances we've seen over the past three years.
The W04 has been fitted with a new five-element front wing, pushrod front and pull-rod rear suspension, a second-generation Coanda exhaust and an "aggressively packaged" rear end. A small vanity panel, à la Infiniti Red Bull's RB9, covers the stepped nose.
Team principal Ross Brawn has called it "a clear step forward in design and detail sophistication," but as much as we truly respect Brawn's abilities and achievements, we heard him say similar things about the updated W03 last year before almost every race weekend from about mid-season. We really hope he's right this time, and so does the team's newest driver, Lewis Hamilton. We'll do our best to ignore the parallels of the Mercedes F1 team having signed a sponsorship deal with Blackberry, another company trying to find its way back to the top and still struggling, and just point you to the video below of the W04 in action.
2014 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG rumbles on stage 4Matic style
Mon, 14 Jan 2013Bruce Hornsby and his soothing piano skills helped introduce us to the 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class, but the monstrous E63 AMG sedan needed no entrance music as it rumbled on stage. The 550-horsepower (and up) sedan sat proudly alongside the rest of the redesigned E-Class on stage at the Detroit Auto Show, but stood miles apart in intention and execution.
In addition to a choice of sedan and wagon body styles, the E63 AMG will also offer buyers the choice of the standard 550 hp or an upgraded 577-hp S-Model; regardless of output, all 2014 E63 AMG models will come standard with the 4Matic all-wheel-drive system.
We already saw the E63 AMG's aggressive styling last week, but now we have a full assortment of live images for you to enjoy as well as the Mercedes-Benz press release, which is also posted below.
Consumer Reports selling its road-tested roadsters [w/video]
Thu, 31 Jan 2013Here's a chance to acquire a celebrity-owned vehicles, and this time at a discount instead of a premium. So the celebrity in this case is Consumer Reports, that magazine that could be equally adored and abhored by car enthusiasts. CR buys all of its test vehicles and usually finds willing second owners within its own ranks, but its opening its small used-car lot to the public. On the forecourt are four roadsters: an automatic 2012 Audi TT 2.0 TFSI Quattro S-Tronic with 6,600 miles for $36,500, a manual 2012 BMW Z4 sDrive28i with 8,400 miles for $45,000, a manual 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK250 for $39,500 and a manual 2013 Porsche Boxster with 7,000 miles for $48,000.
Those numbers mean a savings of $9,000 to $10,000 before haggling - each car is listed with an "Asking price" so there could be some wiggle room if you show up with pockets full of dough and eyes full of serious intent. Since the money CR earns from the sales go back into the magazine's budget to buy more test cars, however, it probably won't take any oddball trades, so you can forget about getting any purchasing help from that track-day AMC Javelin project on blocks in the back yard.
The vehicles have been taken care of and spiffed up for sale; buyers will take delivery at the CR test track in East Haddam, Connecticut and get a tour of the facilities. While you're there they'll even take you on a lap around the track so you can feel how your car handles when driven by one of its testers. They will probably not help you with advice on which toaster and dehumidifier to buy - you'll still need to get a subscription for that. Have a look at the video below to see a day in the life of a CR test car.
