I am selling a 1983 Mercedes Benz Turbo Diesel that is in very good condition. I bought the car from the second owner who had it stored in her garage not driven over the past five years. A family member stated that he started the car once every two weeks. I bought the car about a month ago for my wife to drive up and down the mountain from Boulder to Estes Park. She thought the car was a little to out dated for her to drive. The injection pump had been replaced in 2008 prior to being stored. The engine housing is in very clean condition and shows not sign of leaking. I have driven the car for only 200 plus miles, I had the old fuel removed, new diesel put in with a very expensive fuel system cleaner. I had the coolant system flushed and MB coolant put in. The car runs and drives very well and shifts very nice. The car comes with a plug in heater for the block, factory sun roof that opens and closes perfectly. The car has no accidents and the paint shows very well. NO RUST on this car at all, windows work and are very fast up and down. Doors shut like a benz door should. Has cruise control that works, electric passenger mirror, interior is in very nice shape and is the MB Tex. All electrics work except the tach and clock. I am going to have the sending unit for the tach replaced and will be working for the sale of the car. Turbo works well and has good power for hills and passing. The reason I say it works well is I had a Porsche turbo and power after driving that car is hard to gauge. Windshield blades are new, tires are 75% tread left. Chrome and trim are in great condition and have no wear or rust. I have set a reserve and will let the auction run its course. I have no "buy it now" in mind so please do not ask. Car is in great shape and if an individual wants to do a PPI, the cost is on you and must be done prior to the end of auction.

On Apr-04-13 at 13:25:14 PDT, seller added the following information:

The car is a D model and not an E. It was auto posted by ebay and I am unable to change it. Also the door locks are listed as electric, I believe and will probably hear about if I am wrong they are run off a vacuum pump.

Mercedes Makes A Mighty Little Sedan
We got overexcited when the W203 Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan came out in 2001, calling it the "Baby Benz" when it really wasn't. We knew that, too, but our enthusiasm for a model more like the old 190 of the '80s was so strong that we were willing to stretch the first-gen C-Class to fit that mold. Today, the C-Class has done what all German premium cars do: grown in size. In this case, grown to satisfy the market intentions of the previous E-Class.
There was the tall A-Class sold from 1998 through 2010, but we never considered that a serious small Benz in the proper spirit, nor was it ever offered in the US. Regardless, we've been craving a smaller, premium, sexy sedan all the while.

Maybach officially discontinues all models for 2013

Tue, 14 Aug 2012

The word "Maybach" has joined the long list of synonyms for the word "kaput." Mercedes-Benz released the price list for the 2013 models of its super-luxury sedans, with the price column simply stating "Discontinued" for each one of them.
The 2012 models, should there be any left for 11th-hour buyers, maintain the increased MSRPs that Daimler slapped on them late last year after it was known the brand would be terminated next year. But you might still be able to wrangle that $100,000 rebate if you ask nicely, or in Russian, or have Rick Ross ask for you.
It shouldn't be too long before we see the ultimate version of the next generation S-Class, the S600 Pullman, that will replace Maybach. Intriguingly, it's said the Pullman will be offered with every S-Class engine, even the four-cylinder diesel.

Aston or Bust? Maybach's fate to be decided next month

What will become of Maybach? That question has been rattling around the halls of Daimler headquarters in Stuttgart for some time now. But all questions will be answered, and answered soon: according to reports, the German automaker is currently evaluating prototypes and propositions for its top-end marque, and will make its decision next month.
So, what are the options? On the one hand, Daimler could kill the Maybach brand altogether. It was a notion ill conceived and even more poorly executed, taking an old platform and building a new flagship atop it. In that way, it was sort of like the Chrysler Crossfire, only far more costly to both the buyer and manufacturer. On the other hand, Daimler could opt for the long-time-coming proposition of contracting the production (and possibly much of the development) of a new generation of Maybachs to Aston Martin.
