1995 Mercedes-benz E320 Base Convertible 2-door 3.2l on 2040-cars

Year:1995 Mileage:121088 Color:
Location:

Brookeville, Maryland, United States

Brookeville, Maryland, United States

This was my late father-in-law’s car that I am selling for my mother-in-law.  He passed away almost a year ago and she is ready to sell this fine vehicle.  He is not the original owner; however, he found this beauty on the internet 5-6 years and flew to Chicago to have delivered to his home in Maryland.

Good Facts (as I know them…)

·         Car had about 50,000 miles on it when he bought it.

·         Garage kept.  Love to golf frequently and drove it to golf.

·         Stored in the winters.

·         Stored in a garage for the last 12-18 months and not driven, I replaced the battery and it started right up.

·         Cosmetics (in my non-professional opinion):

o   Interior – looks good for a car with 120,000 miles on it.  Actually, I think it looks great for a tan interior car that is nearly 20 years old!  The seat looks good and were taken care of; if you look close there is some visible wear on the driver’s seat that has NOT wore completely through the leather.

o   Exterior – Original paint and there are some scratches and leftover residue from waxing.  My guess the scratches were from the car wash.  Looks fine with a strong red color.

o   Exterior top – On the inside looks great (‘Yes’ top is automatic and goes up and down with the flash of a button).  Outside, there is some wear, but no physical tears (see picture from rear – right side of top closest to truck is some visible wear).

·         My father-in-law was a lawyer, not a mechanic.  If something was wrong his tool was the phone and it went back to the dealership.  They have been buying their cars from the same Mercedes dealership for a very, very long time.  Maintenance was addressed.

Bad facts

·         My father-in-law died.  (Not too excited about handling this sale either)

·         It has a multiple disk CD changer in the truck – I don’t know where the cartridge is.

·         It has a full tank of gas, but it was when gas was $3.25/gallon (it has been in the car for over a year).  Likely all the fluids replaced.

·         It has Sirius radio, however, I am sure the subscription has expired.  This is easily removable if you desire to restore to original.

Call me with questions, I want this sold sooner than later.  AS-IS only.  Car is located in Lutherville, MD.

Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG is Affalterbach's first big leap into the little pond

Tue, 05 Mar 2013

The recent history of AMG is turning out amped-up versions of Mercedes-Benz offerings that would hardly ever be mistaken for their sedate counterparts. Sure, you'd need to pay attention to pick a G-Class from the G63 AMG, but dual side-pipes are a quick giveaway. The Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG is not only a new era in Affalterbach's attention on smaller cars, it is probably also the most subtle transformation we can think of in the line-up.
Low and chunky enough in standard guise to make a sporting impression, the aesthetic makeover is confined to black trim around the lower rim of the hatch, black wheels with red brake calipers and a single, rectangular exhaust tip on either side of the diffuser. It's easier to make a positive ID inside, where the flat-bottomed steering wheel, red seatbelts and red-rimmed details say, "You know what I am..."
If the car is running, though, it won't take but a second. The 2.0-liter turbo spitting 360 horsepower and 332 pound-feet will grumble through a sport exhaust at idle, and bellow through the same on it's way to a 0-60 time of less than 4.5 seconds. And if you need something that looks a little harder - and you want those quad pipes - then the A45 AMG Edition 1 is the treasure you seek. There's a press release below for all the info you'll need until the hot hatch goes on sale in Germany later this year, and photos for the rest of us while we wait to find out if we'll get a chance to buy it.

Rare Isdera Imperator 108i flexes its considerable muscles

Mon, 05 Aug 2013

The Isdera Imperator 108i is a remarkably rare supercar from the late 80s and early 90s. Born of a Mercedes-Benz concept car, it's powered by a range of AMG-developed V8s, with five to six liters of displacement, depending on the engine. The example shown here, lapping the legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit, features the most potent 6.0-liter V8 available. And rather than just being driven about on a perfectly clean racing line, it's freaking power sliding!
Yes, there's something eternally childlike about a wedge-shaped supercar from our formative years being flung about a Belgian racetrack. Adding to the appeal is the Imperator's stumpy, periscopic rear mirror, sticking out of the roof. Even after being out of production for 20 years, this is still a wild, wild car and we'd happily snap up the opportunity pilot one of the 36 Isderas that were built. Take a look below for the full video from Spa.

Mercedes-Benz S-Class spied once again

Fri, 08 Feb 2013

As evidenced by how little camouflage the next-generation Mercedes-Benz S-Class has been caught wearing lately, it can't be too much longer until the car will get its official debut. In our newest shots of the yacht-sized luxo sedan, the cladding still covers up the headlights, front fascia and most of the rear end, but we finally have an almost undisguised look at the rest of the car's lines.
Considering previous spy shots had more camo that better (or fully) concealed the S-Class' body, some of the more obvious things we see in these images include the prominent grille, the CLS-Class-inspired bodyside creases, the pointed trunk opening and, most interestingly, a lack of fancy exhaust outlets. Unlike other S-Class prototypes we've seen, this car does not have integrated outlets, but it does have two pipes on the left side of the car. All current S-Class models in the US and Europe feature a dual exhaust layout on each side of the car, so while some of our questions about the car get answered, it would appear that more are just arising.
