This is the deal of a life time. The car has new tires, new head lights, tail lights. The transmission has problems, it will not shift into over drive so I am going to say it has to be rebuilt. The engine has an small oil leak but takes 2K to add any. The armrest is suspect and the pics show it as well as the console cup holder does not work. The rear windows have a broken cable but the motors work. The front windows are fine. Door Locks work air is cold radio cd, cassette is fine. The air cond. control body has been replaced in the dash. There are several small cracks on the very top of the dash board where it meets the window. Heat stress but not very noticeable. Trunk is fine spare ok. The headliner needs to be reattached buy it is in excellent condition. New coil packs and plugs.Other than what I have pointed out the interior is great. The front bumper has a crack in it behind the vanity plate. It acn be fixed according to the body shop.

I had the car painted 6 years ago and there is a spot on the passengers door that is fading off. The body and glass are fine. Ibought the car from the 2nd owner, my sister with 95K. She bought it from the original owner with 65K

I have another vehicle and do not want to keep both any longer so this one goes. I have listed everything wrong with the car so there will be no surprises.

I am willing to sell this car for    $1900.00     knowing that it will take 2K to put it back in top shape. Having $3900 in this car is below the market and will be trustworthy instead of buying something that has no history.

Chris Harris and David Coulthard wring out a Mercedes Fintail at the N"urburgring

Thu, 17 Oct 2013

If there's one thing we've learned from the latest video from Drive, it's that the combination of Chris Harris and David Coulthard will produce some very quotable moments. Take this exchange, for example.
DC: "We are by some way the slowest."
CH: "But we're in a class of three cars, apparently."

Mercedes-AMG considering turbo fours, hybrid sixes for future performance sedans

Tue, 29 Apr 2014

Think of the letters AMG and you'll probably end up picturing a performance sedan with a big V8. Such has become, after all, the Mercedes turning division's calling card. But with the introduction of its 2.0-liter turbo four, AMG is working at turning that notion on its head.
The highly potent engine produces 355 horsepower and is presently installed in the A45 AMG hatchback, CLA45 AMG sedan and GLA45 AMG crossover, giving Benz's smallest family a full range of performance models. But that might not be the full extent of the high-strung four-pot's use.
Speaking with AMG boss Tobias Moers, Britain's What Car? magazine reports that Affalterbach is considering slotting the same engine into larger models, particularly performance sedans like the C-Class. As we recently reported, Mercedes is already preparing to up the power from the turbo V6 in the C400 to slot a C450 Sport in below the C63 AMG. The C450 is expected to offer around 367 horsepower where the CLA45 AMG et al pack 355, but the lighter weight of the four-cylinder engine would likely offset the truancy of those extra dozen horses. Of course such a prospect would be much further down the pipeline than the C450 Sport which is expected to arrive much sooner.

New Mercedes Unimog debuts to the cheers of little boys everywhere [w/video]

Sat, 27 Apr 2013

The Mercedes Unimog, the superhero villain of the off-road world that's just waiting to make the jump to Transformer, has been completely upgraded for its new generation. There are ten models, expanding the range and getting new designations across the traditional all-terrain series and the implement-carrier series. Panoramic cabins get more visibility, multifunction steering wheels and better dash clusters, improved HVAC and a three-mode central tire inflation system. Outside, there are new items like LED headlights and daytime running lamps in the bumper, roof-mounted windshield wipers and a front-camera monitor for the implement carrier.
The new engine lineup is compliant with Euro VI, featuring four- and six-cylinder BlueEfficiency engines putting out anywhere from 156 horsepower to 354 hp. Powerplant placement has also been tweaked, the chassis members getting a revised curve to place the engine a bit further back and lower, maintaining off-road clearance and lowering the Unimog's center of gravity. The new location of the engine means the cabin has more room, and the wheelbase is shorter. Combined with a higher turning angle, the Unimog has a smaller turning radius than before.
The implement carrier gets what's called a "synergistic traveling drive," the bonus being that drivers don't need to stop in order to use an attachment - a hydrostatic transmission works with the regular manual transmission at up to 31 kilometers per hour for seamless switching.
