Gorgeous Mercedes-Benz E350. This 2008 model car has a mere 43,729 miles on it and I am the second owner. When I bought the car earlier this year it went through the CPO validation process (all the service was done, new tires, inspections, etc.) but I chose not to get the CPO warranty to save myself a few dollars. It’s been a fault-free car since then, so I made the right decision. This example has all of the standard goodies that you expect from Mercedes, with the 268 HP V6, 7-speed automatic transmission, burl walnut trim, automatic climate control, 10-way power seats with memory, Homelink, ABS, etc. Options include the very desirable sport package and the rare and gorgeous Avant Garde Package which gives you body-colored trim (instead of chrome) and other cosmetic upgrades. The exterior is a metallic Sienna Black with Sahara Beige interior which is immaculate and shows very little wear. I looked at a lot of these cars before I bought this one, and it was by far the nicest, best kept example out there. You will not be disappointed. All of the scheduled maintenance was done on time at the dealer. Other options include the glass sunroof, leather steering wheel and shift knob, headlamp washers, navigation, CD changer, satellite radio, heated front seats, power rear window sunshade, 18” sport wheels and the P1 hands-free communication system. The car runs, rides and handles like a dream. No curb rash on the wheels, no door dings, just a few rock chips on the front hood that have been touched-up. Both keys, all manuals, and clear title. 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class revealed again in 1:18 scale
Fri, 10 May 2013There is plenty to look forward to when it comes to the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class, but it could end up being a fairly anticlimactic reveal thanks to fully exposed spy shots, a leaked press photo and now images of a diecast version of the luxury sedan. Autoweek.nl has images showing a highly detailed 1:18 scale model of the redesigned S-Class that matches up with everything we've seen so far.
This isn't the first time a model car spoiled a new vehicle's reveal, as the 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class and 2013 SRT Viper were both unceremoniously revealed in toy form first. World Car Fans is reporting that the car 2014 S-Class will be officially unveiled on May 15, but at this point, all that's left to wonder about is the official on-sale date and what will be under the hood.
Volvo S60 Polestar concept plays in the snow with Mercedes C63 AMG
Thu, 24 Jan 2013Chris Harris took to a snowy stretch of tarmac to get a fingertips-on-the-wheel feel of the Volvo S60 Polestar concept. Harris says the turbocharged sedan with 508 horsepower and 424 pound-feet of torque - and a manual transmission - is "a study to see if Volvo can get back into the fast-car market." The Polestar S60 concept, one of which was already purchased for $300,000 by a private buyer, is still making the publicity rounds because even Volvo's Chinese owners realize that, as Harris says, "Volvo sold more cars because it made fast cars" like the old 850 T5 Wagon that stormed the British Touring Car Championship in the 1990s.
For reference, Harris compares the blue wonder to the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG and its 487 hp and 442 lb-ft. The question is, were Volvo to get the price of a production version of the S60 Polestar to climb way down from its 200,000-pound sticker, could it be worthy competition to the established giants?
