NOTE: The cars wheels have been upgraded to the five spoke aluminum wheels, replacing the multi-spoke steel wheels seen in some of the photos. A word about the "salvage title": Most people probably think this means the car was totaled in a wreck and had to be rebuilt, etc. That is not the case with this car. It was in water up to the bottom of the doors, but apparently, no water got in the car. There were some sensors, or components (I was told) underneath that had to be replaced. Anyway, the insurance company paid the owner the value of the car (at that time) and took possession. That required it to be retitled as "salvage" before it could be resold. I bought it under those circumstances and have had no regrets. I have total confidence in this car. Have driven it 50,000 miles since buying it 3 yrs ago, on eBay. It had a salvage title when I bought it due to having been in water up to bottom of doors and insurance buying it from owner. I drove it to TN from NJ the day I bought it. I have replace the catalytic converters (4) and rear hydraulic suspension components. I would not hesitate to drive this car to California and back. It runs and drives like a dream. Cold AC, all windows, lights, door locks, and sunroof work great. Rt side seat controls can be balky, but work. Driver side fine except head rest does not adjust. This is a solid, great driving and great looking wagon. Tight. No rattles. Buy with confidence. $500 PayPal deposit immediately upon purchase. Balance in cash. I will deliver within 100 miles of Knoxville TN for additional $100, or you pick up or arrange your own transport. This is a great car at a great price. I bought a newer one, or I would not be parting with it now.

Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG officially teased in mini video
Mon, 15 Jul 2013The followup to the Mercedes-Benz S550, the S63 AMG, will sport a biturbocharged V8 that will likely turn out around 550 horsepower. The new engine is probably the 5.5-liter, biturbocharged V-8 that's been popping up in everything from the ML63 to the E63 AMG. The front fascia is more aggressive, which shouldn't come as a surprise, while a meaty exhaust setup can be found out back.
We managed to pick all that up from a short, 17-second video posted by MB. The original video that unveiled the S63 AMG has since been pulled down, making this YouTube clip the best look we now have at the new super sedan, at least until the Germans give up the goods for real.
Be sure to check out the video below, along with our original posting on the S63 AMG.
2015 Mercedes-Benz GLA priced from $31,300*
Mon, 28 Jul 2014Mercedes-Benz has kindly let loose the price of the 2015 GLA-Class, telling Autoblog.com that the base 208-horsepower GLA250 in two-wheel drive will go for $31,300 *not including a destination charge of $925. That makes for $32,225 in total to get one off the lot, a price predicted as early as last year and in our recent First Drive. The other two available models can push power to all four wheels, and after the destination fee is applied the GLA240 4Matic (pictured) will be $34,225 while the 355-horsepower GLA45 AMG will change lives and wallets to the tune of $49,225.
On the base scale, that puts the GLA250 just a few hundred dollar bills above the more powerful, rear-wheel drive BMW X1 and a stack of hundreds below the less powerful, front-wheel drive Audi Q3. If you're keeping in-house score, the GLA250 comes in at $1,400 above its sedan platform-mate with the same engine, the CLA250. At the high end, however, the competition doesn't have anything that can touch the AMG trim. Not that it should matter all that much - Mercedes needed something to keep these buyers in the family, and now they have it. If any of them should need even more power and more money spent, then there's always that 394-hp Brabus flavor. We'll have more info and details on each trim when Mercedes unleashes the shebang in the not-too-distant future.
Mercedes FWD platform to last until 2018, convertible and two-seater future uncertain
Mon, 22 Jul 2013Mercedes-Benz seems to be expecting a lot of success from its front-wheel-drive CLA-Class. Automotive News is reporting that the sub-C-Class sedan could grow when its second generation arrives in 2018.
The current FWD platform for MB underpins the CLA, the B-Class, the GLA-Class, and the A-Class. The B-Class will arrive in North America as an EV for spring of 2014, while the production GLA crossover will arrive three to four months after that. The five-door A-Class won't be crossing The Pond. Sad faces all around.
According to AN, another model will be based on the front-drive architecture, but it won't be coming to the US market. Set to arrive next year, rumors are that it'll be a wagon version of the CLA, sort of like the ill-named five-door CLS Shooting Brake that is also a Europe-only item.
