The exterior is painted in a beautiful two tone white and the interior is fitted in dark blue MB Tex vinyl. The car is loaded with most of the amenities that were available on these models in that year, including the optional third row seat. There is an electric sunroof and electrically adjustable seats with memory. The car starts right up, drives like a new car and it exhibits no gremlins or operational problems of any kind. It drives amazingly well with no rattles, wind noise or other distractions. The exterior and interior of this car is very straight and super clean. As the CarFax shows, the low mileage is legitimate and there are no accidents or other issues in the history. This is a currently registered and driven vehicle that passed the rigid safety and emissions inspection in the state of New York. There is an abundance of additional general information about these Mercedes Benzes on the internet if you are looking for more technical data or performance details. We didn't want to bog you down with useless information, considering that most of the people looking at this car will know much more about it than we do. The few nits that we were able to pick is a very short list indeed. There are a few VERY minor blemishes in the original finish (no dents or rust) and there are rash touches on a couple of the original wheels. The motors for the headlight wipers are disconnected. Everything else works as designed including the electric antenna, clock, left and right remote mirrors as well as the original Mercedes Benz sound system. The matching B.F. Goodrich tires are very good and have lots of life remaining. The interior looks great and it is amazingly clean and comfortable. This car was always garaged and recent work includes a transmission overhaul, fuel injection wiring harness replacement, new battery, ignition coils (3), brake service, new muffler, fuel filter and an oil & filter change. The climate control works perfectly and the car blows super cold air. 2014 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series [w/video]

There have been five Black Series models since the Mercedes-Benz SLK55 AMG Black Series introduced itself to European audiences in 2006. Following that, the Black Series club has hosted appearances by the 2008 CLK63 AMG Black Series, the 2009 SL65 AMG Black Series and last year's 2013 C63 AMG Black Series. The sixth member of the group is one we would have thought already was a Black Series car in its standard guise. Right out of the box, the SLS AMG is loud, frenetic, cozy, boisterous and frightfully easy to oversteer. How much more Black did it need to get?
Quite a bit so, apparently. The SLS AMG Black Series has lost weight, gained power and been refitted with upgrades and aero bits from front to rear. If you liked the way it looked before, you'll probably be an even bigger fan of this one. If you thought it looked ungainly, well, this one should stay even further away from pageants. Regardless of where you come down this is the best SLS AMG variant we've driven.
Mercedes to roll out S65 AMG Coupe in July
Mon, 07 Apr 2014We're still a couple of weeks away from the public debut of the new Mercedes S63 AMG Coupe at the fast-approaching New York Auto Show, but already we're receiving word of an even more powerful version in the works. That, of course, would be the S65 AMG Coupe - the twelve-cylinder version of the latest S-Class Coupe, two-door counterpart to the S65 AMG sedan and replacement for the outgoing CL65 AMG.
Like the four-door version rolled out back in November, the S65 AMG Coupe would be distinguished from less powerful vehicles (which, lets face it, is just about everything) principally by its engine: a massive, 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 that produces 621 horsepower, 738 pound-feet of torque and cares as much about global warming as an oil-shipping mega-tanker.
Because Merc's 4Matic all-wheel drive system can't handle that much torque, the ne plus ultra coupe would (like the S65 sedan but unlike the S63 coupe) be offered only in rear-drive form. That means it will have that much more trouble getting the power down to the road, but since the Magic Body Control suspension is similarly incompatible with 4Matic, the flagship coupe will get that trick suspension.

Fri, 31 May 2013In advance of the Nürburgring 24-hour race last weekend, Mercedes-Benz put on a demonstration that had Michael Schumacher playing catch-up in a Formula One car against four examples of AMG metal. There were four cars sent off in staggered starts before Schumacher: an A45 AMG, E63 AMG 4Matic, SLS AMG Black Series, and an SLS AMG GT3 car. "Mr. Formula One," as the German television commentators call him, left three minutes after the SLS AMG GT3.
There are two videos of Schumacher's lap, the first is on-board footage - and even though there were several GoPros on the car the POV never cuts away from the front wing. You can hear the throttle and tell he's not pushing it, you can also tell how bumpy the track is. The second video is footage from the German Sport1 channel - with commentary in German - that shows all the cars taking off and takes the aerial view of proceedings. He looks to be going a lot faster in that one. You can compare and contrast yourself with the videos below.
Oh, and it's worth noting that, even with the likely restricted car, and the made-for-TV environment, Schumi turned in a quick lap. The nose camera shows the F1 car start to slow down on the back straight, near the start/finish line, right around the modern-length track record time of six minutes and eleven seconds.
