Selling a very clean, tastefully modded e55 AMG W211. This car puts out close to 600hp and is even more beautiful in person. With a Eurotech tranny tune, ECU tune, pulley and exhaust this E makes around 100hp more than the stock e55 AMG (rated at 469 HP) and with the tranny tune you can feel every bit of that increase over a stock one. The body is in excellent shape for the years and overall exterior condition I would say is an 8.5 with the only blems being a few rock chips on the hood. The wheels and tires are Euro RS staggered 20x10.5 and 20x8.5 with nearly new tires. The wheels alone run close to $2,000.00. Overall mods on this car come to around $5,000.00.

Interior it's fitted with all of the belts and whistles that come standard on these cars. This includes full leather interior, heated and powered seats, suede headliner, real wood accents and just about every other feature you can think of. It does have NAV but I am missing the nav disc. Showing a bit of wear on the passenger seat but this is normal for a car this age.

Maintenance wise it has been kept up to date with full airbag maintenance performed at 90k miles. Tranny shifts smooth, power hits right, motor sounds great.

Overall I don't think there is a better performance bargain for the money. You get close to 200 MPH top speed, 600 HP, front and rear Brembo brakes and enough room to seat 5. Priced to sell!

New details emerge on forthcoming Mercedes-Benz SLC

Sat, 02 Feb 2013

Last we heard, the Mercedes-Benz SLC had been put on indefinite hold, but now Car Magazine is reporting that the Porsche 911-fighting "Baby SLS" coupe could be on sale by 2015. Riding on a modified SLS AMG chassis, the smaller and lighter SLC could be priced in the sub-$100,000 price bracket.
We'd already heard that the new car would feature conventional doors (instead of SLS-like gullwing doors), but this report focuses on some of the possible powertrains Mercedes-Benz is likely to use. At launch, the SLC could offer a pair of V8-powered models - a 485-horsepower SLC and a 585-hp SLC S - both being powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8. About a year after launch, a new V6 model could emerge giving the SLC an estimated 333 horsepower and its lowest price point.
It also sounds like the car's name hasn't been completely finalized as some people within Mercedes are favoring a return of the SLR name.

Online Find of the Day: Lexus-engined Mercedes pickup is a vintage hybrid

Tue, 16 Sep 2014

You have to love someone who gets incredibly committed to a very weird idea. What you see for sale here is a right-hand drive 1971 Mercedes-Benz 220D in South Africa, but this old Mercedes is now converted into a pickup, complete with bed cover, and there's big secret under the hood, too.
The pickup conversion appears well done based on seller Sedgefield Classic Cars' photos. Even the tonneau cover fits well. You could almost believe that this Mercedes lived its life as a Chevrolet El Camino-like pickup from the very beginning.
However, the rear-quarters conversion might not be the weirdest thing about this Mercedes. The original diesel is gone from the engine bay in favor of a Lexus V8. It seems really odd to pop the hood and find a Japanese mill in this German car, but the photos make it look like a fairly well performed swap. So, bravo to the crazy thinking. According to the seller speaking to Autoblog by email, "as far as we can establish, this was done a few years ago, with all Lexus components."

Rare Isdera Imperator 108i flexes its considerable muscles

Mon, 05 Aug 2013

The Isdera Imperator 108i is a remarkably rare supercar from the late 80s and early 90s. Born of a Mercedes-Benz concept car, it's powered by a range of AMG-developed V8s, with five to six liters of displacement, depending on the engine. The example shown here, lapping the legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit, features the most potent 6.0-liter V8 available. And rather than just being driven about on a perfectly clean racing line, it's freaking power sliding!
Yes, there's something eternally childlike about a wedge-shaped supercar from our formative years being flung about a Belgian racetrack. Adding to the appeal is the Imperator's stumpy, periscopic rear mirror, sticking out of the roof. Even after being out of production for 20 years, this is still a wild, wild car and we'd happily snap up the opportunity pilot one of the 36 Isderas that were built. Take a look below for the full video from Spa.
