PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION, VIEW ALL PHOTOS, AND WATCH MY VIDEO BEFORE BIDDING!
Up for sale is this super clean 2006 Mercedes-Benz E350 4Matic Sedan. This Mercedes was involved in flood and is being sold with a salvage flood title from New Jersey. The car does not appear to be a high flood. When we received the car the dash lit up displaying the mileage and almost all the features in the vehicle were working. I have a posted video online so you can see the electronic features working for yourself. The water looks like it got inside the vehicle and just under the lower part of the seat. The seat motors seem to be good when we hooked up direct power to them but they will not move  when you hit the switch because water get into the connections. So you will need to work on the wiring for the power seats. Also the power windows do not work and the power locks do not work. I believe water also entered these modules because they are also located under the carpeting in the vehicle. The Navigation works, the Harman Kardon stereo works, the ac and heat blowers all work perfectly, all the external and internal lights work including the headlights. The CD changer works, the vanity mirrors work, the shifter works and illuminates, and most of all the electronics do work.
I brought the car to a electrician who specializes in flood cars and he said the car will need the modules under the carpeting replaced and the starter will need to be changed as well. The vehicle will NOT start because the starter is not throwing out. When I turn the key I can hear the starter turning but It is not throwing out and catching the flywheel so that the engine can be started. So the starter will definately need to be changed. This was not a high flood but it will need some work to get it running again. The fuse box and battery in the trunk are perfect and has no corrosion at all. Thats what leaves us to believe this was a low water flood. The engine and transmission are 100%. All the fluids are clean and we do not believe any water entered or damaged any of the drivetrain.
The body of this car is super clean and the interior is very nice as well. When we got the vehicle the dash lit up and it said the vehicle had  42,685 miles on it. This looks like it was a very well taken cared of vehicle and is totally worthy of being fixed up and put back on the road again. This vehicle will have to be towed to its new located when you purchase it.
This is a really nice loaded up vehicle and has every option available when it was new. It has Navigation, the harman kardon sound system, and sport appearance package, and much more!
The exterior and interior of this car all intact and we have the floor mats for the car as well as the electronic key for it. I also have all the original owners manuals for the vehicle as well. As I mentioned, the exterior is super clean with no blemishes to mention at all except for a small scratch on the rear passengers side door.
The interior is all intact as well and in great condition. There is no wear at all anywhere on the interior of this car. This car is complete and all intact and will make a nice car for someone who wants to put alittle time and money into it.
This car is being sold as-is, where-is, and there is no warranties expressed or implied. This vehicle has a salvage flood title. It is your responsibility as the buyer to know the requirements and procedures of registering a salvage vehicle in your state. If you would like to see the car in person before bidding, you are more than welcome to do so. Also, feel free to ask me about the buy-it-now price. I will assist in any way possible in having the car shipped to you at your cost. A $500 non-refundable deposit must be made within 24 hours on the auctions end. The remaining balance must be paid in full by 3 days after the closing of the auction unless other arrangements are discussed with me in advance. With that being said, feel free to email, call, or text me at anytime if you have any questions or concerns. My number is 347-636-5336 . Thanks and good luck bidding!

Edmunds ranks the best used cars for 2013

Sun, 15 Sep 2013

When people ask us what car we would recommend for them, it's usually not easy to answer. To make a useful recommendation we must consider which of the numerous vehicle segments fits their needs best, and then choose one of the many vehicles offered in each segment. For some people, new cars don't meet their expectations of value, because they lose so much of it the moment they are purchased and driven off the dealer lot. For them, there's always the used-car market, where great deals can be found, but cars' histories of reliability and maintenance records - and perhaps that Certified Pre-Owned warranty - become ever-important factors playing into purchase choice.
To help out, Edmunds has done us the favor of assembling a list of the best used vehicles money can buy, covering model years 2006-2011, according to what it considers the most important criteria when shopping for used autos: reliability, safety, value and availability. That means unreliable, unsafe, super-expensive or limited-edition models don't appear on the list, but instead cars from each segment that are more likely to satisfy the general population.
There are some real goodies on the list, including but not limited to vehicles such as the capable Honda Fit, the cultish Honda Accord coupe (which can be had with a 240-horsepower V6 and a six-speed manual transmission some years), and the powerful Chevrolet Corvette. While Edmunds' choice of the Volvo C70 for best used convertible baffled us at first (not that it's a bad car), it redeemed itself by stating that the Mazda MX-5 still is an unofficial top choice if you don't require more than two seats.

Russia gives its Olympic medalists new Mercedes

Thu, 27 Feb 2014

Russian medalists at the recently concluded Sochi Winter Olympics are being rewarded quite handsomely for their service to the Motherland. In addition to the $120,000 being handed out for each gold medal, the $76,000 being awarded for slivers and $52,000 given to bronze winners, now word has come out that each of Russia's medalists will be gifted a new Mercedes-Benz.
As with the prize amounts, the type of Mercedes offered was based on what sort of medal was won. Gold medalists got a new GL-Class, silver medalists were given an ML and bronze medalists were treated to a GLK. As prices for Mercedes are higher in Russia, the cheapest model, the GLK, was the equivalent of $59,500, according to The Moscow Times. The cars were handed out by Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, pictured above with figure skating medalist Julia Lipnitskaia.
"I was a bit shocked at the car I was given," Anton Shipulin, a member of the gold-medal biathlon relay team, told RIA-Novosti. "Of course I knew what kind of model it would be, but I didn't totally believe it." For athletes not old enough to drive, like 15-year-old Lipnitskaia, their Mercedes will come complete with a driver.

Mercedes-Petronas AMG W04 launched to little fanfare, lots of pressure [w/video]

Tue, 05 Feb 2013

No indoor cocktail hour for the launch of the W04, the newest chassis built by the Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One team. Instead, Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton spent a morning in photo and video sessions at the track in Jerez, Spain then paused a moment to introduce the car. The team will want the W04 to demonstrate the World Championship credentials of the team personnel and one of the team drivers, instead of the mostly humble performances we've seen over the past three years.
The W04 has been fitted with a new five-element front wing, pushrod front and pull-rod rear suspension, a second-generation Coanda exhaust and an "aggressively packaged" rear end. A small vanity panel, à la Infiniti Red Bull's RB9, covers the stepped nose.
Team principal Ross Brawn has called it "a clear step forward in design and detail sophistication," but as much as we truly respect Brawn's abilities and achievements, we heard him say similar things about the updated W03 last year before almost every race weekend from about mid-season. We really hope he's right this time, and so does the team's newest driver, Lewis Hamilton. We'll do our best to ignore the parallels of the Mercedes F1 team having signed a sponsorship deal with Blackberry, another company trying to find its way back to the top and still struggling, and just point you to the video below of the W04 in action.
