Just arrived is this very restorable example of the ultra-collectible W111 Chassis convertible from Mercedes-Benz,
a 1963 220 SE Cabriolet. This car was an unfinished project that sat for the last few years, and remains mostly
complete and ready for a swift and painless restoration. This is a real Cabriolet by VIN, and not a converted
coupe. There are many new parts installed in the car, and more parts in the trunk (see photos). The chrome and
bright work is in very good shape, and the wood is complete and presentable. The glass is all there, and the
windshield is excellent with no chips or cracks. The soft top looks to be almost new. The sheet metal all looks
very good, but there is rust underneath that would need to be repaired (see photos). Running condition of engine
and 4-speed manual transmission is unknown, but presumed to be operable. Please watch the video and look at the
large photo library to get a feel for this car's condition.

Mercedes-Benz releases US-spec 2014 Sprinter details
Mon, 06 May 2013Last week, Mercedes-Benz released the details for the updated 2013 Sprinter intended for global markets, but this week it has announced what changes are being made to the US-spec version of the van for the 2014 model year, including the Freightliner model. As expected, most of the changes made to the European model will be present on the 2014 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter when it goes on sale in the US, which is expected to be this fall.
The biggest difference between the Sprinter announced last week and the one headed to our shores is what is found under the hood. While European Sprinters will come with diesel engines and offer the availability of a supercharged four-cylinder gasoline or CNG engine, US Sprinters will still offer the 3.0-liter V6 BlueTEC diesel. This year's Sprinter now comes standard with a new base engine, the 2.1-liter four-cylinder BlueTEC diesel. This smaller engine will produce 161 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque, and will be paired to a seven-speed automatic transmission; the optional 3.0 V6 puts out 188 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque, and will be mated to a six-speed auto.
Fuel economy for the new Sprinter has not been announced, but Mercedes-Benz has made numerous changes with the goal of improving efficiency. To this end you'll find a new, low-friction rear axle and the optimization for the generator, fuel pump and power steering pump.
Mercedes-AMG teases GT interior, announces fall 2014 debut
Tue, 15 Apr 2014Mercedes-Benz opted to tease the assembled media at its post-New York Auto Show party, showing off a pair of images of the exquisitely crafted interior of the highly anticipated successor of the SLS AMG - the V8-powered Mercedes-AMG GT.
Slated for a debut in the fall at either Paris or Los Angeles (we're betting Paris), you'll note straight away that there's something wrong with this car's name. Where's the "Benz?" Well, it's been ditched to, as Mercedes says, "make the dream of the authentic Mercedes-AMG sports car come true." Sorry Karl.
"The new Mercedes-AMG GT proves that we will be positioning AMG as a dynamic sports car brand even more strongly and aggressively than before," said Tobias Moers, CEO of Mercedes-AMG.
