1995 mercedes s420.... 146k...runs and drives but needs tlc..new paint,cd head unit and double pain windows....bought as a non running project 6 months ago no time to work on it. I did put in a fuel pump and new fuel filter,drivers rear axle shaft and got it running and maybe put 50 miles on it with the throttle problem but wasnt comfortable driving it like that but just aired it out....$1000 out the door for repair or parts car sold 'AS IS'.... Erratic idle and throttle response.... Clean new paint job...cd unit ,double pane tinted windows, bought as fixer upper 6 months ago never put any real time into it my loss is your gain and it will probably sit in my driveway another 6 months as my sons e320 needs a head gasket and the wifes ml320 is starting to need a little attention and you guys know how that is!!!..
This is not the car you buy if you need to get in and drive now....a mechanic or someone who knows a mechanic is best suited for purchasing these Benz w140 body cars to properly diagnose the problem with a scanner that reads obd1 pre 96 vehicles so your not throwing in any unnecessary parts... Major repairs may need electronic throttle or air mass sensor or idle control module or abs/asr module sensor due to speedo cutting out..I was told if the computer thinks the wheels are slipping it wheel limit the power output to the vehicle. Minor issues are various bulbs , trunk lock,sunroof goes back half way due to something being stuck in track and some engine plastic cover parts are missing,horn inop oil level sensor,need driver door check.This cars book value is worth a lot more together or parted out than what im asking.It also is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end auction if it sells elsewhere.
I have a clean tmu title (true mileage unknown) due to speedo cutting out which was stamped on the title the guy gave me that was in his name that I USED TO REGISTER AND INSURE IT IN MY NAME SO I KNOW ITS CLEAN and as a bonus I will throw in a set of 18 inch tsw wheels that came with my 2003 s500 4matic that should fit this s420 same lug bolt pattern they just need to be cleaned up due to oxidation showing as I never used them I preferred using the 18 inch amg"s.
I STRONGLY recommend you come with a trailer to
transport the vehicle home ........If you should choose to attempt to drive it I AM not guaranteeing you make it ANYWHERE! Aston or Bust? Maybach's fate to be decided next month

What will become of Maybach? That question has been rattling around the halls of Daimler headquarters in Stuttgart for some time now. But all questions will be answered, and answered soon: according to reports, the German automaker is currently evaluating prototypes and propositions for its top-end marque, and will make its decision next month.
So, what are the options? On the one hand, Daimler could kill the Maybach brand altogether. It was a notion ill conceived and even more poorly executed, taking an old platform and building a new flagship atop it. In that way, it was sort of like the Chrysler Crossfire, only far more costly to both the buyer and manufacturer. On the other hand, Daimler could opt for the long-time-coming proposition of contracting the production (and possibly much of the development) of a new generation of Maybachs to Aston Martin.

There is absolutely no reason why any two-seat roadster should be fitted with a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12 developing 621 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque, but I sure am glad that Mercedes-Benz doesn't see things that way.
Drop into the leather-lined cockpit of this $213,145 provocateur, floor the accelerator pedal as I did over and over again, and 60 miles per hour falls in a traction-limited 3.9 seconds. Top speed has been electronically held to 186 mph (this apparently saves Gulfstream jet owners from embarrassment). Forget the SL550 and SL63 AMG, the valets will trip over themselves attending to the tycoon driving this thoroughbred - it's the real deal.
Mercedes-Benz GLA Concept crossover leaked ahead of Shanghai debut
Wed, 17 Apr 2013With just a few days left before the start of the Shanghai Motor Show, images of the Mercedes-Benz GLA Concept compact crossover have emerged online. The little 'ute is based on the small A-Class hatchback, and though it shares an identical wheelbase, is larger in every other dimension.
Looking like a rough-and-tumble five-door hatchback on the tippy toes of its 20-inch wheels, the GLA is most certainly destined for production in a toned down form that will borrow many bits and pieces from other cars based on this platform like the aforementioned A-Class and the CLA-Class sedan. Carscoop reports that the production version of the GLA will be revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September of this year, with sales to the public starting in 2014.
Since it's based on the A-Class, we expect that the production GLA-Class will be powered by your choice of Mercedes' 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine and a diesel or two, and will offer transmissions that include the company's seven-speed DCT and perhaps a six-speed manual (at least in Europe). If the GLA follows the same path as the two cars before it, expect a GLA45 AMG producing over 300 horsepower, as well. As for what powers the GLA Concept, that just might remain a mystery until the vehicle is officially revealed in China.
