Miami, Florida, United States
You are viewing a beautiful example of a 2001 Mercedes benz S 500 Sedan. This car is a one owner car since new . It was owned by a funeral home and the gentleman is 83 years old to this day. He only drove the car from home to the funeral home. The car has only 33,025 original miles. The Obsidian black paint is in like new condition and has nearly zero imperfections. Only a few minor scratches that are nothing to mention. Note the car is not black . Its metallic Black which is all original nothing has been painted on this car. The Interior is Pristine. No one ever sat in the back seats . The front seats are like new and show no major wear at all. The carpets, headliner, dash, and wood are all pristine. It still smells like a new car when you open the doors. Inside you will find the car loaded with power windows, cruise, Bose Stereo with Am /fm Cassette and Cd changer located in trunk. Navigation is standard in the S 500 model as are heated Seats and Zenon Headlamps. The climate control works perfectly hot heat and Ice cold Ac. The engine looks like new as well. No leaks and it runs so smooth you cant even tell its on. The transmission shifts flawlessly through all the gears. The car was always dealer serviced in Connecticut which is where I purchased the car. All service records are available through the dealer. I also just serviced the car completely. New michelin tires. Excellent brakes, Fresh Mobil one oil change. I had the entire car inspected. The leveling suspension works perfect with no issues, no noises in the suspension when driving the car . This car was 80 k new . It was the flagship car of the 2000 era and was considered one of the best sedans on the road. 8 air bags ,Mercedes tele aid for emergency situations, and a engine and transmission that have been around for many years and pretty much bullet proof. I am pricing this Rare 2001 S 500 for a very fair price. Today you would spend over 20 k to buy a import car and it would be basic. Why not own this amazing S 500 that will last one a lifetime. Please check out the Auto check it scores a 81 . No accidents , no paint work , No stories. I take pride in selling the best cars and finding low mileage cars that are 1 owner cars. Mercedes leads in US luxury car thefts
Wed, 31 Jul 2013Mercedes-Benz makes some fine automobiles. The Silver Arrow'd cars are so good, apparently, that thieves can't help but try to steal them. The German brand is at the top of the charts for luxury car thefts in the US, according to the National Insurance Crime Bureau, with New York City leading the way. (And those New Yorkers complain about Detroit being bad!)
The C-Class was the most stolen model, with 485 ganked between 2009 and 2012 in NYC alone, while the E-Class and S-Class (which also boasted the worst recovery rate, at 59 percent) both finished in the top ten. Following the C-Class was the BMW 3 Series and Infiniti G. Not surprisingly, each of these were the most common models in their respective lineups. Los Angeles and Miami are also prime hotspots for luxury car thefts, according to the Detroit News report.
While getting your car stolen is pretty awful, there was one inspiring statistic compiled by the NICB - the average recovery rate across the board was 84 percent, with the Cadillac CTS getting recovered 91 percent of the time.
Maybach could become Mercedes-Benz sub-brand
Wed, 22 Jun 2011When you're arriving in a twin-turbocharged, twelve-cylinder Maybach limo, there's no reason you should ever have to be late. Except, maybe, to make a fashionable entrance. But up at the corporate level, the entire Maybach brand is being slowed down as critical decisions about its future are being undertaken.
Last week, we reported that a decision on what path Maybach would take going forward would be due at the start of next month, but the latest reports indicate that the timeframe has been extended as further options are being considered.
The previous options under consideration were twofold: either relaunch the brand with production outsourced to Aston Martin - which suddenly finds itself with excess production capacity - or shut it down completely. And those are still two very real options. Word has it that Aston has put together four concept cars for the Daimler brass to consider, all based on the next-generation S-Class platform (and thankfully not the old one).
Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG officially teased in mini video
Mon, 15 Jul 2013The followup to the Mercedes-Benz S550, the S63 AMG, will sport a biturbocharged V8 that will likely turn out around 550 horsepower. The new engine is probably the 5.5-liter, biturbocharged V-8 that's been popping up in everything from the ML63 to the E63 AMG. The front fascia is more aggressive, which shouldn't come as a surprise, while a meaty exhaust setup can be found out back.
We managed to pick all that up from a short, 17-second video posted by MB. The original video that unveiled the S63 AMG has since been pulled down, making this YouTube clip the best look we now have at the new super sedan, at least until the Germans give up the goods for real.
Be sure to check out the video below, along with our original posting on the S63 AMG.
