I have had this car since 2007. It has been the most reliable Mercedes I have had and the longest I've ever kept a car personally. It runs and looks great. The back seats have never been used except to haul around my laundry. The interior of the car looks great. No rips/tears or fading of the leather or dash. I put a light tint on the windows to help cope with the Las Vegas sun. I have installed an ipod dock in the glove compartment, a pricey upgrade. This replaces the 6 cd changer in the trunk (which I still have) and you still have the 1 in dash as well as the Navigation. It functions withthe on screen programming and the steering whells controls.
The B service is due in about 5000 miles. I had the brakes, cabin filters and pollen filter done at 97K. I am a non smoker. When you sit in the car it will smell fresh and feel clean. I have 2 sets of floor mats for the car.
As for the "issues" with the car, the driver's side sun visor does not close flush into the roof but stops about 1 inch from. It will never be in your line of site but I figured I had to mention it.
The tire pressure sensor does not function. This is a common issue and not worth getting fixed in my and other's opinions. The result is, after about 15 mins of driving, a message will pop up and you'll hit the clear button to get rid of it.
There are a few minor scuff or scratch marks about the size of your thumbnail.
One of my rear tail lights has a scuff mark in it. There is no crack nor malfunction of the light itself.
Scuff mark on the back side of the driver's side mirror, no bearing on the turn signal built into the mirrors.
Because I replaced the key a few years back, you do not use the Keyless start button.

New details emerge on forthcoming Mercedes-Benz SLC
Sat, 02 Feb 2013Last we heard, the Mercedes-Benz SLC had been put on indefinite hold, but now Car Magazine is reporting that the Porsche 911-fighting "Baby SLS" coupe could be on sale by 2015. Riding on a modified SLS AMG chassis, the smaller and lighter SLC could be priced in the sub-$100,000 price bracket.
We'd already heard that the new car would feature conventional doors (instead of SLS-like gullwing doors), but this report focuses on some of the possible powertrains Mercedes-Benz is likely to use. At launch, the SLC could offer a pair of V8-powered models - a 485-horsepower SLC and a 585-hp SLC S - both being powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8. About a year after launch, a new V6 model could emerge giving the SLC an estimated 333 horsepower and its lowest price point.
It also sounds like the car's name hasn't been completely finalized as some people within Mercedes are favoring a return of the SLR name.
Popular Science magazine's Best Of What's New 2012 all ate up with cars
Tue, 20 Nov 2012Popular Science has named the winners in its Best of What's New awards, the victors coming in the categories of aerospace, automotive, engineering, entertainment, gadgets, green, hardware, health, home, recreation, security and software. The automotive category did not go wanting for lauded advancements:
Tesla Model S: the Grand Award winner for being "the standard by which all future electric vehicles will be measured."
BMW 328i: it's 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gets called out for being more powerful and frugal than the six-cylinder it replaces.
EVO "2012 Car of the Year: The Track Battles" is a sports car salmagundi
Sun, 25 Nov 2012EVO has come out with another gotta-watch-it video, throwing its 2012 Car of the Year contestants around the UK's 1.5-mile Blyton Park track. It's actually a 15-minute teaser for the full-length DVD detailing the magazine's Car of the Year selection, but the tease is worth every penny free second.
Tiff Needell and sports car racer Richard Meaden handle the wheel duties, the two driving five pairs of sports cars: Lotus Exige S vs. Porsche Boxster S, Morgan Three-Wheeler vs. Toyota GT86, BMW M135i vs. Porsche 911, Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series vs. Alpina B3 GT3, the marquee event pits the McLaren MP4-12C vs. the Pagani Huayra. After a head-to-head lap with commentary during drifts, Meaden takes each car out to set a representative lap time.
You'll find the verdicts, lots of tire smoke, and lines like "Anything you can do sideways I can do sideways" in the video below.
