This is my personal 1969 280sl W113 Roadster. It runs as beautiful as it looks. Dark Olive Green #291 in its
original color. Interior is a beige with beige panels, hair pads, and carpeting. This car has the original front
fender spot welds, front headlight notches, original toolkit, original factory books, and Becker Europa radio.
Odometer reads 29,710 miles. The cars was restored in 1998 by renown Mercedes restorer, Jurgen Klockemann in San
Jose, CA. The restoration included both mechanics and cosmetics. Color matched hubcaps, full spare tire with
spare tire cover, original fire extinguisher, and a car cover will go with the car. This 280sl can do 80mph
without a hitch. No shakes or rattles and cruises straight as an arrow. Newer Michelin tires. Car is repainted
from top to bottom in its factory color and the paint shines like glass. Chrome was redone at time of the
restoration and shines beautifully as well. Seals (windshield, trunk, doors, and hood) were done at time of
restoration. Soft top is dark brown and might need to be replaced over the next couple of years as it shows some
signs of wear. Car was originally set up as an A/C car however, the inside under dash unit is missing. As this
car is 47 years old, it is not perfect. It's also doesn't have a $150K price tag either. It is a beautiful driver
vehicle for someone to enjoy now on nice days or the weekend.

Mercedes rules out hybrid supercar, promises SLS successor
Sat, 16 Mar 2013The recent Geneva Motor Show was a festival of hypercars, with the presence of not one, but three over-the-top debuts: the Lamborghini Veneno, McLaren P1 and Ferrari LeFerrari. The latter two have hitched their carbon fiber bumpers to the electrification bandwagon by using hybrid-electric powertrains not entirely unlike the propulsion systems we've come to know in cars like the Toyota Prius and Chevrolet Volt. Does that mean the flow of electrons up the four-wheeled food chain will eventually consume our hallowed supercars? Not if AMG has anything to say about it.
AMG Director of Vehicle Development Tobias Moers recently confirmed that not only will there be a successor to the Mercedes-Benz performance division's SLS AMG, he notes that its internal combustion engine will most definitely not be sharing living quarters with an electric drivetrain. Instead, AMG plans to focus on further pushing the power and efficiency envelope of the internal combustion engine and advancing the use of lightweight materials to achieve their goals. The first example of this effort can be seen in the new SLS AMG Black Series that incorporates many weight-saving techniques to shed some 154 pounds from the SLS AMG GT (above), which itself is lighter than the standard SLS AMG.
Furthermore, Moers remarks that his company is happy to leave the hypercar segment to companies like Ferrari and McLaren. He admits that, "Ferrari in the hyper-car segment is still a different brand than AMG. We have to be honest..." So rather than taking the SLS further upmarket to do battle with bulls and stallions, Moers hinted that the next-generation SLS may be joined by another performance model that fits neatly between itself and the C63 AMG.

Mercedes S-Class Magic Body Control ad is clucking awesome
Tue, 24 Sep 2013This is a new ad from Mercedes-Benz. At no point does it show an automobile. Instead, it stars animals, but not the sort you might normally see in car commercial. This ad is all about chickens. It is bizarre, to say the least, with Diana Ross and the Supremes belting it out in the background, but it all kind of comes together when you realize just what Mercedes is hawking (yeah, pun intended).
It's for the manufacturer's Magic Body Control, found on the new S-Class. The system basically analyzes the road and prepares the suspension accordingly, leading to a ride that is, in the words of our own Chris Paukert "nothing short of spooky." You can read about it in our full review of the 2014 S550. Take a look below for the 53-second spot.
