EXTREMELY NICE ORIGINAL 1985 MERCEDES 380SL CONVERTIBLE.2 OWNER CALIFORNIA CAR.IT WAS BOUGHT BRAND NEW AT THE HOUSE OF IMPORTS IN BUENA PARK.I DO HAVE ALL THE BOOKS,MANUALS,AND MAINTENANCE RECORDS.2 ORIGINAL FACTORY KEYS.THE CAR JUST PASSED SMOG WITH GREAT READINGS.THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER WAS JUST REPLACED AS IT WAS NECESSARY TO PASS SMOG.THE CAR RUNS PERFECTLY.IT IS SO SMOOTH AND QUIET,YOU CAN HARDLY HEAR IT RUN.THE CAR DRIVES DOWN THE ROAD PERFECTLY.NO PLAY IN THE STEERING.TRANSMISSION SHIFTS IN ALL GEARS PROPERLY.BRAKES AND SUSPENSION ARE INCREDIBLY SURE FOOTED.IT WOULD MAKE ANY KIND DRIVE WITH NO PROBLEMS.CLIMATE CONTROL FOR A/C AND HEATING OPERATE VERY WELL.IT DOES HAVE ANT-LOCK BRAKES.THIS IS THE LAST YEAR FOR THE 380SL MODEL,SO IT CAME STANDARD WITH THE HEAVY DUTY DUAL TIMING CHAIN. THE PAINT IS METALLIC BLACK,CODE #199,WHICH MANY CALL PEARL BLACK.IT IS VERY RARE FOR THE 1985 MODEL. IT BECAME A STANDARD COLOR IN THE 560SL MODELS.GORGEOUS PAINT.YOU WON'T FIND MUCH OF ANY DEFECTS ON THE CAR.NO RUST.NO ACCIDENTS.ALWAYS KEPT INSIDE.I HAVE THE MATCHING HARDTOP.IT IS IN GREAT SHAPE.PERFECT HEADLINER. Mercedes CLA45 AMG Racing is ready for a spot on the grid
Tue, 10 Sep 2013Mercedes-Benz trotted out its CLA45 AMG-based racer at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. We first showed you the sedan in the deluge of news and reveals that precedes most good auto shows, and were blown away by the car, formally known as the CLA45 AMG Racing Series.
We were strolling by the Mercedes stand, and figured we'd pop in and take a look at the new racer and its carbon-fiber body panels, gutted interior, and race-sourced aero parts. It's a looker, both as a road car and a track weapon. It's not clear what series the CLA45 AMG will qualify for, although it does seem like a shoe-in for the World Touring Car Championship. Brabus 800 Roadster is a power-mad aristocrat
Wed, 06 Mar 2013If we're being completely honest, we haven't exactly been in love with the aesthetics of the sixth-generation Mercedes-Benz SL-Class. It's mostly a front-end issue, with its glowering eagle-eye headlamps and upright, dinner-plate-sized Three-Pointed Star coming across to us as overwrought. That's particularly troublesome for a roadster whose history has of the most elegant designs of all time in its back catalog. Somehow, the new R231 generation's brash visuals seem more at home on this Brabus 800 Roadster to us.
That's probably because the high-dollar German tuner has turned up the wick on the SL's visuals even further, with carbon fiber bodywork, a more aggressive aero kit, matte hood scoop and complex two-finish wheels. It's all-the-way committed to its brashness, in other words - and justifiably so. Anything with 800 horsepower and 1,047 pound-feet of torque has earned the right to look however it wants, right?
Brabus started with the SL65 and its not-exactly-underpowered 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12, and went to town, fitting their own turbocharger and intercooler system, along with a less-restrictive exhaust system with driver-selectable sound levels and new engine electronics. The result is a 3.7-second 0-62 mph time, an electronically limited top whack of 217 mph... and one seriously compromised toupée.

Fri, 24 Aug 2012It happens every year. We bid adieu to some cars and trucks that will be missed, and say good riddance to others wondering how they stayed around so long. Whether they're being killed off for slow sales or due to a new product coming along to replace them, the list of vehicles being discontinued after 2012 is surprisingly long and diverse.
CNN Money has compiled a list of departing vehicles, to which we've added a few more of our own. In the slow sales column, cars like the Lexus HS 250h, Mercedes-Benz R-Class and the full Maybach lineup appear, while the Ford Escape Hybrid, Mazda CX-7 and Hyundai Veracruz are all having their gaps filled with more modern and more fuel-efficient alternatives. Obvious exceptions to the rule include models that still sell in decent numbers like the Jeep Liberty and the Chrysler Town & Country (which will eventually be replaced by a crossover-like vehicle).
