East Palestine, Ohio, United States

I'm selling my 1988 Mercedes Benz 560SL as I'm out of garage space.

This car is in fantastic shape and draws comments every time I have it out.
I'm in my 50's and I have no clue how fast this car will go as I've never came close.
I've never abused or beat this car !!!

The car drives perfect and has been meticulously maintained.

I've owned the car for 5 years
Every filter (air, oil, power steering, fuel) was IMMEDIATELY replaced as I bought a complete MANN filter kit
Every fluid replaced.
New exhaust from the cat back
Fog light lens'
Dome light lens'
Cap, rotor, wires and plugs.
Last year when I got it out of winter storage it had a hesitation (drove me nuts) took it to the garage and replaced the injectors and pump ($2,000.00)
Fresh Mobil 1 oil every year when it came out of storage.

This car is 26 years old and has some wear:
The dash is cracked
the radio stopped working (I have another Becker that's included).
The paint is pretty weak (it does look fantastic from 10 feet away)and there's some slight bubbling at the lower trim (see picture)
The leather interior has some wear as pictured but the seats welting is in fantastic condition.

I welcome you to come and see the car before you bid (or send a mechanic)
The car is in East Palestine, Ohio (near Youngstown)

I'm not a car salesman and I want to be as honest as I can be.
I EXPECT THE SAME FROM YOU.
IF THIS CAR IS NOT AS DESCRIBED, I'LL GIVE YOU $300 FOR YOUR TRIP HOME.

Payment:  I require $500 via PayPal at auction end.
I will accept a check and IT MUST CLEAR BEFORE I SIGN THE TITLE OVER.

Shipping: Thats up to you, send a service and I'll help them load the car or fly in to Pittsburgh or Youngstown and I'll pick you up and you can drive it home.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
Greg Hyde 724-622-3994 from 10am - 7pm eastern standard time only.

2014 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG rumbles on stage 4Matic style

Mon, 14 Jan 2013

Bruce Hornsby and his soothing piano skills helped introduce us to the 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class, but the monstrous E63 AMG sedan needed no entrance music as it rumbled on stage. The 550-horsepower (and up) sedan sat proudly alongside the rest of the redesigned E-Class on stage at the Detroit Auto Show, but stood miles apart in intention and execution.
In addition to a choice of sedan and wagon body styles, the E63 AMG will also offer buyers the choice of the standard 550 hp or an upgraded 577-hp S-Model; regardless of output, all 2014 E63 AMG models will come standard with the 4Matic all-wheel-drive system.
We already saw the E63 AMG's aggressive styling last week, but now we have a full assortment of live images for you to enjoy as well as the Mercedes-Benz press release, which is also posted below.

Aston Martin and Daimler continue talks on SUV project, CEO required

Tue, 01 Apr 2014

The Aston Martin Lagonda SUV concept revealed at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show didn't earn the plaudits the company is used to when it reveals new models, and it has lived an uncertain life ever since. Thought to have been scrapped along with the entire revival of the Lagonda brand, then thought to have been resurrected due to Chinese, Middle Eastern and Russian demand, another year passed before we heard more definitive talk about an Aston Martin expansion when AutoCar reported that the Lagonda could be built on one of Mercedes-Benz's AMG SUV platforms.
A report in Automotive News Europe indicates plans have gotten serious, its unnamed sources saying that the English carmaker is talking to Daimler "to extend their cooperation to building an SUV." Neither Daimler, Aston Martin nor Investindustrial, the managing partner among Aston Martin's ownership consortium, would comment. But with Investindustrial having pledged to expand the range, competitors like Bentley, Maserati and Lamborghini getting into the SUV racket and clear demand from current and future customers, it's easy to believe Aston Martin is working hard to put the pieces together.
One further potential bump on the road to an Aston SUV is the company's search for a new CEO. Ulrich Bez relinquished to top spot at the company at the end of 2013, and Aston reportedly will not finalize its model strategy without a new CEO in place.

13-year-old boy swipes dad's Mercedes, drives across Europe

Wed, 16 Jan 2013

After an argument with his adoptive parents that resulted in them taking away his mobile phone, an angry 13-year-old boy ran away from his home in Italy and headed straight to Poland to meet his biological sister. But instead of taking the train or hitching a ride, like most on the run, the young man (an accomplished go-kart racer and car enthusiast) grabbed the keys to his father's Mercedes-Benz and jumped behind the wheel for an impromptu road trip.
With less than 200 euros (about $270) in his wallet and a passport in his pocket, the youngster managed to put more than 500 miles between himself and his distraught parents, crossing two international borders in the process, before German police nabbed him just shy of the Polish border. According to reports, the vehicle was tracked - it wasn't his driving that alerted authorities to his location.
Reunited with his mother and father, who traveled to Germany to retrieve both their son and the vehicle, the young man apologized and acknowledged his error. As a result of his actions, social workers will increase checks on the family and we can be sure his parents are now hiding the keys.
