With the SL55 AMG, Mercedes has taken its legendary roadster and injected it with a major dose of

horsepower that elevates it to near supercar status. With nearly 500 horsepower emanating from

its supercharged V8, this drop top can outdo most sports cars in a straight line, yet it's still docile

enough to go for a top-down Sunday drive. The ridiculously powerful SL65 AMG might overshadow

the SL55 in the minds of some buyers, but unless you have regular access to roads resembling the

German autobahn, the real-world performance difference will go unnoticed 95 percent of the time.

If you're looking for the ultimate combination of open-air fun and unparalleled performance, the

SL55 satisfies in ways few other cars can.

I am helping sell this car for my boss. It has been part of our fleet
for a couple years and has served us well.

To be very clear this car does have a FLORIDA REBUILT TITLE. This is not the same as a Salvage as the car has already been inspected and issued a Rebuilt title so you can easily get this car titled and registered anywhere.

Unfortunately I do not have pictures of the original accident damage as there was an office flood a couple years back which wiped out a lot of our original docs.

Its a great car to just get in and drive and we have put some money into it over the years for small things. Recently the car has had a Engine Computer, Hydraulic Suspension Lines, Transmission, LF tie rod, and Alignment.

Just the way the car sits it does need a couple things. Tires are decent and will last some miles still, there is a ding at the front edge of the hood, the custom 20" rims have some curb rash that has been touched up, some paint flake on the top sail panels, one of the 4-way button is missing off the passenger seat, the spot under the drivers seat compartment is missing the handle to open it, the silver center trim piece around the radio has a crack in each side next to the ash tray area, the center dash vents stopped working the other day, and brakes are in the future as well.

Its a good car to just get in and drive. Doesnt have a lot of miles and is by no means a trailer queen so you dont have to feel bad about running around town in this one. The pictures really do tell the story. I presently am loading the photo shots from our website but I will be uploaded original recent pictures within the week so please hang tight.

This is for sale by a PRIVATE OWNER so please
dont ask about trades or financing.

Daimler names Bernd Pischetsrieder to supervisory board

Mon, 14 Apr 2014

Some executives in the automotive industry stay with one company for their entire careers, while others bounce from one to the other, often leaving their indelible mark on each automaker at which they serve. Bob Lutz is certainly an example of the latter. So is Lee Iacocca, having presided over Ford and later charing the Chrysler board. Carlos Tavares was chief operating officer of Renault before being nominated as chief executive at PSA Peugeot Citroën. But as far as the Germans go, nobody's jumped from the leadership of one automaker to the next quite like Bernd Pischetsrieder - especially now that he's been named to the supervisory board of Mercedes-Benz parent company Daimler.
An engineer by training, Pischetsrieder started his career at BMW in 1973, eventually rising to the office of CEO after twenty years. There he remained until 1999, only to be dismissed after orchestrating BMW's takeover of the Rover Group (of which only the Mini brand remains in the company's portfolio, the other brands having been sold off after his dismissal).
The next year he was named chairman of Volkswagen's Seat brand, and rose to the chairmanship of the entire Volkswagen Group two years later. Despite a largely successful four-year tenure (that gave birth, incidentally, to the Bugatti Veyron), disagreements with supervisory board chairman Ferdinand Piëch saw him leave the helm at VW AG, focusing his attention on the Scania truck division. He's since been touted as a potential chief executive for Opel and for Continental, but neither potential was apparently realized.

Mercedes-Benz GLA Concept gets mobbed in China

Sat, 20 Apr 2013

If the reception it received at the Shanghai Motor Show is any judge of marketplace acceptance, Mercedes-Benz has a hit on its hands in the form of the GLA Concept. And we can understand why - we're quickly becoming fans of Mercedes' recent styling language, as defined by new models like the CLA and this GLA Concept.
The big news on the exterior front are the headlamp clusters, which have frickin' laser beams attached to their foreheads embedded inside that are capable of projecting videos and images on a screen. Plus, a pair of video cameras are mounted on the roof that can be used to capture driving excitement or removed and taken with you. How cool is that? We just hope they have a substantial locking mechanism to prevent would-be thievery...
If the exterior is mostly ready for production, with a few of the more outlandish elements moved to the trash bin - like, for instance, laser-beam headlamps and removable action cams - the interior is a true custom job that screams concept loud and clear. There are all kinds of jewel-like finishes inside, along with transparent surfaces showing what looks like metal latticework underneath and some awfully thick looking leather with massive exterior stitching done by hand similar to what you'd find on a baseball glove.

AMG-powered Aston Martins still years away

Mon, 16 Sep 2013

After flirting for several years, Mercedes-Benz and Aston Martin have finally tied the knot. Just don't expect to see any offspring to result from the union for at least three or four years.
This according to Auto Express, which spoke with Daimler chief Dr. Dieter Zetsche at the Frankfurt Motor Show last week. AE reports that a new range of AMG-developed turbocharged V8s, transmissions and electrical components will make their way into the successors to the current V8 Vantage and DB9, but that these models are still a few years off.
Purists might balk at the thought of a Mercedes-powered Aston holding true to the brand's heritage. But while David Brown (for whom the DB range is named) may have steered clear of shoehorning in Detroit muscle into his cars, the entirety of the company's current range is powered by engines borrowing technology from Ford, and that arrangement seems to have worked well for Aston until now. And if you're still skeptical, look no further than Pagani and its AMG-sourced engines and you should have all the proof you need that the new relationship between Daimler and Aston could be a success.
