The Mercedes SL500 is just an incredibly engineered, dynamic vehicle. One of the most beautiful cars on the road. It drives as good as it looks, which is great! Mine has tasteful upgrades that includes staggered Alloy Wheels ($2,400) 20x9, 20x10, the tires are 275/30/ZR20, 245/35/ZR20. New front and rear spoilers painted to match the original brilliant silver metallic paint of the car. New trunk brake light, new clear silver side front markers (lights), new updated grill with OEM chrome Mercedes emblem, new Mercedes all-weather floor mats, new trunk gas-charged lifts, just installed new Bosch wiper blades. Just had it serviced, oil/filter, fluids as needed. The command unit screen has two small areas that pixels that don't light up (see picture) but works well, rock chips on the bumper have been touched-up. One door ding on driver's side rear fender lip, hard to see in pictures. The windshield has chips that have been professionally repaired on the passenger side. Clock doesn't keep accurate time. Two small cuts in driver's seat, repaired. The reserve reflects those issues. The leather interior and the carpet are in very good condition. Just cleaned and conditioned the leather. The car comes with 2 Mercedes keyless keys, one needs to be re-programmed. The windows have professionally installed limo-tint. Clean CarFax, original paint, no accidents.
The original base M.S.R.P. was $89,900.00, this car was well over $95,000.00 new. It is loaded with typical Mercedes SL500 items, heated/massage seats is one of my favorites.

In Which Mercedes' Sprinter Becomes A Long-Distance Sherpa
In the wintery wilds of northern Alaska, even the cute little critters want to kill you.
As I am about to nod off on my long leg flight from Minneapolis to Anchorage ahead of driving to the Arctic Circle, the friendly twenty-something Alaskan knitting furiously in the seat next to me pauses and says, "When you're driving up there, don't open your windows." In the dead of winter? I hadn't planned on cruising alfresco, but her warning to keep the glazing snugged against the weatherstripping is one I would take to heart. She continues: "If you leave 'em open, a fox is liable to jump right in. There are lots of rabid foxes up there, and they leap into your car and just Go. To. Town." And here I was, thinking that a curious bear or maybe an ill-placed moose in the road was going to be my biggest potential four-legged threat. In the wintery wilds of northern Alaska, even the cute little critters want to kill you.

Mercedes-Benz will make a return to the inline-six-cylinder engine game, according to a report from the UK's AutoCar. It's not clear what's prompting the phasing out of the current array of V6s.
We'll see the first inline-six from Mercedes in next-generation E-Class, set to debut in 2016. Following that, it'll arrive as part of a mid-cycle refresh for the C-Class in 2017. What's particularly special about the new inline-six is its modular nature, which will allow Mercedes to eventually spinoff three- and four-cylinder options, with the three-pot arriving alongside the new inline-six.
In other news, AutoCar uncovered some details on the next C-Class AMG, which will ditch its excellent 6.2-liter, AMG V8 in favor of a 4.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V8, although we've already told you about that. What we didn't know at the time, though, was that the 4.0-liter would be paired first with a new, seven-speed AMG Speedshift transmission and offer all-wheel drive. AC also reports that a nine-speed Speedshift is in the works.

The argument is made in a Reuters article: Audi is falling behind other luxury brands, such as Mercedes-Benz and BMW, due to a lack of research-and-development spending and "brain drain," or the migration of top executives and R&D chiefs to other parts of the Volkswagen Group. Reuters notes that Audi's current R&D chief is the third in 16 months.
Audi, which contributed to 40 percent of VW Group's $11.6 billion in profit the first nine months of the year, is delivering cars at a record pace: 1.31 million were delivered from January to October 2013 versus BMW's 1.35 million. Yet Audi, Reuters reports, doesn't have a halo car akin to BMW's new electrified i3 and i8 or an answer to Mercedes' plug-in-hybrid S-Class, and the R&D spending at Audi is less than BMW and Mercedes by a fair margin. It's noted in the article, however, that Audi benefits from other R&D spending within VW Group.
Reuters mentions that BMW "trumpets its new 'i' series" and the new Mercedes CLA and GLA ranges are winning "rave reviews" as part of its argument that Audi's recent lack of technological innovation could hurt future sales. Those cars do pack tons of new technology, some of which are firsts for mainstream production cars. But last time we checked, the i3 could be causing BMW's stock to slide, the CLA isn't receiving the rave reviews that Reuters would have you believe and the GLA hasn't been reviewed yet.
