First let me say I love this car but I love my wife more and she wants a new house and tells me one of my cars must go. I need my Audi A8L for work so that means the SL55 has to go. I wish I did not have to sell it and I am trying to find another way to cover the down payment on the new house but anyway let me tell you about the car. (smile) You have to see the color of this car they call it Pewter Metallic but it is really beautiful and looks like a silver light brown combination that you just have to see. The seats look gray. This car's original MSRP was about $125,000.00. options on the car are Panorama Roof ($1800.00) Distronic Adaptive Cruise Control ($2,950.00) Parktronic Parking Assistant ($1,035.00) Keyless Go ($1,015.00) Active Ventilated Seats ($1,200.00) Bi-Xenon Headlamps ($900.00) Tire Pressure Monitoring System ($650.00). The car also has the wind screen for the roll bar. If you are looking for a 2003 SL55 AMG I can promise you you will not be disappointed if you take a look at this one. It has been serviced at the local Mercedes dealer since I purchased it. Oh and let me say this don't be surprised if I do not seem very happy when you purchase it from me. Firing of M-B boss upheld
Mon, 15 Jul 2013Ernst Lieb, the disgraced former CEO of American operations for Mercedes-Benz, will not be getting any more money from the Silver Arrow'd teat. His wrongful dismissal suit against MB's parent company, Daimler, was tossed out of a German appeals panel. This, followed the initial rejection by a lower court last year.
According to court documents acquired by Automotive News, Lieb was found to have "accepted payments of substantial value to which he - as he was aware - had no claim."
Lieb took over American operations from former CEO Paul Halata in September of 2006. Reports surfaced in October of 2011 that Lieb was dismissed from his posting at MB, with a variety of rumors swirling. Eventually, news broke that financial wrong doing was responsible for the German's firing.
UK workers strand car on island of asphalt to keep working
Wed, 06 Feb 2013Generally speaking, when you illegally park your car, you're likely to get ticketed and towed, but there is probably at least one motorist in Scotland who wishes that was the case. After workers had blocked off a portion of the parking lot for the Edinburgh Waverley railway station, the driver of this Mercedes-Benz S-Class reportedly moved some of the barriers to park in one of the empty spots.
Rather than having the vehicle towed, the work crew simply tore up the asphalt around the leaving just the one parking spot intact, and as you can see in the image above (posted to the Twitter account of Harold Norstad), the crew even built a small asphalt ramp so the car could get off its blacktop pedestal. Since this happened last week, there's no word as to whether the car was eventually moved or towed for the resurfacing work to continue.

Fri, 24 Aug 2012It happens every year. We bid adieu to some cars and trucks that will be missed, and say good riddance to others wondering how they stayed around so long. Whether they're being killed off for slow sales or due to a new product coming along to replace them, the list of vehicles being discontinued after 2012 is surprisingly long and diverse.
CNN Money has compiled a list of departing vehicles, to which we've added a few more of our own. In the slow sales column, cars like the Lexus HS 250h, Mercedes-Benz R-Class and the full Maybach lineup appear, while the Ford Escape Hybrid, Mazda CX-7 and Hyundai Veracruz are all having their gaps filled with more modern and more fuel-efficient alternatives. Obvious exceptions to the rule include models that still sell in decent numbers like the Jeep Liberty and the Chrysler Town & Country (which will eventually be replaced by a crossover-like vehicle).
