I have owned this classic Mercedes Benz since 1992 (second owner) and drove it mainly to and from work on the freeways (these pictures were taken on January 01, 2013). Since I am a non-smoker and this car has mainly been parked in the garage it is in very good overall condition (e.g. interior, exterior. and runs great). The engine on this car has been lovingly maintained, updated and repaired.
There are no known mechanical problems with this car.
In the past 3 years I have replaced the (1) Fuel Distributor, (2) Fuel Pump, (3) Fuel Filter, (4) Front-End Suspension, (5) Engine/Oil Seal, and (6) Oil Pan Gasket. The Timing Chain was also replaced at 125,000 miles. The Michelin MXV4 Energy Steel/Radio tires are practically brand new.
In June 2013, I also did the following services to enhance this beautiful car (1) California Smog Certification, (2) California License Tags, (2) new Bosch battery, (3) new Bosch sparkplug wires, (4) new Bosch distributor cap, (5) new Bosch rotor, (6) converted the air-conditioning system to the new and required R134 Refrigerant which included new adapters and fittings, (7) repaired the muffler and exhaust system to remove leaks, (8) new large and small air filters, (9) new hood emblem, (10) new windshield wiper blades, (11) waxed and detailed, and (12) oil change including new oil filter and air filter.

Aston Martin and Daimler continue talks on SUV project, CEO required
Tue, 01 Apr 2014The Aston Martin Lagonda SUV concept revealed at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show didn't earn the plaudits the company is used to when it reveals new models, and it has lived an uncertain life ever since. Thought to have been scrapped along with the entire revival of the Lagonda brand, then thought to have been resurrected due to Chinese, Middle Eastern and Russian demand, another year passed before we heard more definitive talk about an Aston Martin expansion when AutoCar reported that the Lagonda could be built on one of Mercedes-Benz's AMG SUV platforms.
A report in Automotive News Europe indicates plans have gotten serious, its unnamed sources saying that the English carmaker is talking to Daimler "to extend their cooperation to building an SUV." Neither Daimler, Aston Martin nor Investindustrial, the managing partner among Aston Martin's ownership consortium, would comment. But with Investindustrial having pledged to expand the range, competitors like Bentley, Maserati and Lamborghini getting into the SUV racket and clear demand from current and future customers, it's easy to believe Aston Martin is working hard to put the pieces together.
One further potential bump on the road to an Aston SUV is the company's search for a new CEO. Ulrich Bez relinquished to top spot at the company at the end of 2013, and Aston reportedly will not finalize its model strategy without a new CEO in place.
YouTube's Super Bowl commercial buzz list dominated by automakers [w/videos]
Thu, 31 Jan 2013After Sunday's big game, YouTube will be the place to watch every commercial that you missed when you left your seat for an emergency guac refill or, as we say in Cleveland, took the Browns to the Super Bowl. That makes YouTube the nation's water cooler on Monday, and it's got some preliminary stats to share in the lead up to kickoff.
As you know, Super Bowl advertisers, particularly automakers, like to endlessly tease their big budget commercials in the weeks before the game, many times revealing them outright days in advance. Because of this, YouTube can tell us which commercials have been viewed the most so far, and their top five list is all automakers.
Kaley Cuoco appears to have been a good investment for Toyota, as her ad for the RAV4 has garnered the most YouTube views - six million and counting - among Super Bowl commercials so far. Second place goes to Mercedes-Benz, though not its actual Super Bowl commercial, but rather the teaser for it. You know, the one with Kate Upton and the car washing, which is up to 5.6 million views. Third place is Audi's Prom commercial (3.3M views), fourth goes to Volkswagen's slightly controversial Get In, Get Happy ad (3.3M views), and the fifth and final spot is bookended by the teaser video for Kaley Cuoco's commercial (3.2M views). Mercedes to market Tesla-powered 2014 B-Class EV in U.S.
Thu, 05 Jul 2012Looks like another Tesla Motors investor will be looking to cash in on their connection. Autoweek reports Mercedes-Benz will offer their B-Class in the U.S. with Tesla propulsion.
The magazine says their source at the German automaker confirms plans for a B-Class electric-only vehicle. While Tesla already provides battery packs for the battery-powered Smart ForTwo, the B-Class EV will reportedly have Tesla batteries, motor and other components. U.S. residents should be able to procure one sometime in 2014.
The same Mercedes source says plans for a hybrid B-Class have been postponed for now. Adding a range-extending, gasoline-powered engine to an electric vehicle would put the car into a different class for which rebates and incentives aren't as favorable in the States.
