Very Nice 1975 Mercedes 450sl Convertible Two Top Roadster. on 2040-cars

Up for auction is a very nice, and well maintained 1975 Mercedes 450 SL Roadster. This Mercedes lived most of its life in Arizona, owned by a older couple, then in 2007 the daughter bought the car from her mother. The car has always been garage kept, and it shows. Nice straight body, with one repaint, only because the mother wanted a blue car, it was originally silver. The paint is nice but it dose have a couple of very small chips. (You must look at pictures closely to see them.) Regular service has been done through out its life. Recent work consists of new fuel pump, new plugs, plug wires, tune up, replaced seals, and gaskets for oil pan. The interior looks fresh, with new seat upholstery, original door panels, and carpeting, all look great. The dash pad dose have a crack down the middle, on the top. All gages work as they should, as dose all the electrical, lights, windows, etc. The only thing on the car that dose not work is the clock. (Could be a fuse.) Newer Michelin radials are on original Mercedes chrome wheels, looks great. Both tops do come with the car, hard top, and folding black cloth soft top. Each top is very nice. This car runs, and drives as you would expect a fine 450 SL Mercedes would. No problems with this car. I'm listing this little Mercedes for the daughter, it's just been sitting, and she never drives it. Her husband just drove the car, 400 miles to me, so I could list it for her. Mercedes-Benz CLA stars in sweeping short with supermodel Karlie Kloss
Wed, 16 Jan 2013The Mercedes-Benz CLA earned itself a spot on our list of the top five unveils of the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, and for good reason. The German luxury compact is the first small car from the Silver Arrow that looks suitably premium inside and out. Nowness.com has turned out a new video of the CLA featuring super model Karlie Koss in the lead role. We aren't entirely sure what the premise is, but from what we can tell, it looks as if the CLA comes to life and proceeds to be a giant jerk.
After Koss stops to take a closer look at a white horse, the CLA gives the supermodel the old stop-and-go treatment before leaving her on the side of the road. Eventually, the sedan makes nice, but Koss has to ride shotgun instead of taking the controls herself. You can check out the video below to see for yourself.
2014 Mercedes SL and SLK add small expansion to Takata airbag recall
Fri, 11 Jul 2014Mercedes-Benz is the latest automaker to be affected by Takata's massive airbag recall. The company has announced a voluntary recall campaign on a small number of model-year 2014 SLK- and SL-Class roadsters.
In Mercedes' case, 300 vehicles are affected, 200 of which are in the hands of customers. According to spokesperson Donna Boland, the affected roadsters were built between March and April of this year.
The issue, which is apparently the fault of one of Takata's subcontractors, rests with some improperly installed fasteners, which could keep the airbag from performing the way it's supposed to. According to Boland, Mercedes isn't sure what, if any, injuries the recalled airbags could cause, but simply claims there's an increased risk in these particular vehicles. There's been no reported instances of the faulty airbags deploying on a customer and the original issue was found in a production test.
Mercedes has already booked 30k orders for new S-Class
Mon, 21 Oct 2013When Toyota snags 30,000 Corolla orders over a three-month span, it's entirely possible we're in the midst of a global economic collapse and that the end is nigh. That's because the scale for Toyota is so very large. Mercedes-Benz, on the other hand, operates on a much smaller scale, particularly when we talk about its higher-end models, like the S-Class.
In 2012, Mercedes sold 65,000 of its flagship sedans in Germany and the EU. That's 178 units per day, for 365 days. Based on that, you can imagine the excitement at Stuttgart when it accepted 30,000 orders for the new S-Class in just three months. That's an average of 333 per day on a continent with a notoriously shaky economy. Now, admittedly, this enthusiasm could wane as the refitted S-Class becomes more common and Mercedes achieves market saturation in Europe's many chauffeur and livery services, but Mercedes isn't choosing to look at it that way.
"The new S-Class has already jumped back into the lead in terms of new vehicle registrations in Germany and its neighboring European countries," Mercedes-Benz head of sales and marketing, Ola Kaellenius, said in a statement last week.
