2005 Mercedes-benz Slk55 Amg Base Convertible 2-door 5.5l on 2040-cars
North Las Vegas, Nevada, United States
This 2005 offers outstanding performance with great looks. The 24-valve, 5.4-liter V-8 accelerates to a ripping 60 mph in 4.3 seconds and clearing the quarter in the 12s-precisely, 12.7 seconds at 111 mph-largely because of improved gearing, not just power. The AMG exterior styling is masculine but not over the top. Fuel economy is an "8" when compared against other V8 automobiles in this performance range but if you want 30 MPG buy a Civic. Shifts are smooth and unobtrusive, and despite having seven ratios available, it resists overshifting. Yet the gearbox is always ready to blast off, providing up to four gear kickdowns at a time. Stand on the throttle when cruising along at 70 mph in seventh gear, for example, and the transmission seamlessly downshifts to fourth gear and shoots the SLK forward. The car only has 29,000 thousand miles and has been garage kept and babied all its life; but if you prefer a 2013/14 be ready to lay down 80K. I'm offering this car at an extremely good price. This car has not even been broken in, I replaced all four tires last year and are still at 85%. The title to the car is held by the USAA Federal Savings and Loan, once the car is sold I will provide a notarized bill of sale stating that the original title will be turned over to the new owner within 1 month of purchase or if you are financing I will provide all information for your bank to pay off the note and acquire the title what ever is more convenient for winning bidder. This car is excellent working condition has no leaks or problems that I am aware of, you are encouraged to have the car checked out at your own expense and if something mechanically is found wrong with the car, from a certified mechanic I will refund the initial payment and you can walk away. The car is being sold as is with no warranty, buyer is responsible for pick. I will not ship or will I involve my self in shipping arrangements that is the buyers sole responsibility. Winning bidder must deposit $500 within 2 days of winning the car this is non refundable unless a certified mechanic is able to find something mechanically wrong with this car and that is the sole responsibility of the buyer. Feel free to email me any questions or concerns.

Mercedes leads in US luxury car thefts
Wed, 31 Jul 2013Mercedes-Benz makes some fine automobiles. The Silver Arrow'd cars are so good, apparently, that thieves can't help but try to steal them. The German brand is at the top of the charts for luxury car thefts in the US, according to the National Insurance Crime Bureau, with New York City leading the way. (And those New Yorkers complain about Detroit being bad!)
The C-Class was the most stolen model, with 485 ganked between 2009 and 2012 in NYC alone, while the E-Class and S-Class (which also boasted the worst recovery rate, at 59 percent) both finished in the top ten. Following the C-Class was the BMW 3 Series and Infiniti G. Not surprisingly, each of these were the most common models in their respective lineups. Los Angeles and Miami are also prime hotspots for luxury car thefts, according to the Detroit News report.
While getting your car stolen is pretty awful, there was one inspiring statistic compiled by the NICB - the average recovery rate across the board was 84 percent, with the Cadillac CTS getting recovered 91 percent of the time.
UK workers strand car on island of asphalt to keep working
Wed, 06 Feb 2013Generally speaking, when you illegally park your car, you're likely to get ticketed and towed, but there is probably at least one motorist in Scotland who wishes that was the case. After workers had blocked off a portion of the parking lot for the Edinburgh Waverley railway station, the driver of this Mercedes-Benz S-Class reportedly moved some of the barriers to park in one of the empty spots.
Rather than having the vehicle towed, the work crew simply tore up the asphalt around the leaving just the one parking spot intact, and as you can see in the image above (posted to the Twitter account of Harold Norstad), the crew even built a small asphalt ramp so the car could get off its blacktop pedestal. Since this happened last week, there's no word as to whether the car was eventually moved or towed for the resurfacing work to continue.
Let this be a warning...
Mercedes-Benz CLA stars in sweeping short with supermodel Karlie Kloss
Wed, 16 Jan 2013The Mercedes-Benz CLA earned itself a spot on our list of the top five unveils of the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, and for good reason. The German luxury compact is the first small car from the Silver Arrow that looks suitably premium inside and out. Nowness.com has turned out a new video of the CLA featuring super model Karlie Koss in the lead role. We aren't entirely sure what the premise is, but from what we can tell, it looks as if the CLA comes to life and proceeds to be a giant jerk.
After Koss stops to take a closer look at a white horse, the CLA gives the supermodel the old stop-and-go treatment before leaving her on the side of the road. Eventually, the sedan makes nice, but Koss has to ride shotgun instead of taking the controls herself. You can check out the video below to see for yourself.
