This listing is for a 1986 Mercury Cougar XR7, this is the Mercury equal to a Turbo Coupe T Bird. I purchased this car back in 2009 from a gentleman in southern Ohio. The car was purchased new in West Springfield MA, and then from what I can tell went to the mid-west area until I bought it. The owner prior to myself had a new remanufactured motor installed in it at approx 109k miles. When I bought the car it had a turbo issue so I bought a new one and replaced it and then over the past few years put approx 25k miles on it. I never drove it during the winter months and although I dont know for sure it doesnt appear that it was winter driven prior to my ownership as the underside doesnt have the normal north east US rust issues that seem to plague most fox body Fords. Items replaced since my ownership that I can remember would include: new turbo, new radiator, new master cylinder, frt brake hoses, frt brake calipers and pads, rear brake shoes, rear wheel cylinders, heater core, aux fan motor, the tires on the back are brand new with just a few miles on them before I put it away the frt still have good tread. They are all matching tires, I picked up some road debris in the rear one which was why they were replaced.

The car has a 87/88 style turbo coupe hood on it now with the hood scoops. I had a guy make a set of block off plates for them to keep out debris and rain but they are removable if you wanted to add a top mount intercooler. I have the original ductwork that mounts to the hood for that. I also have some various extra pieces in the trunk that will go with the car also. The car has the original keys and I purchased a extra set of the turbo ignition/door key and the small trunk key although they need cut. I also have a couple of the 1986 Ford factory manuals that will go with it.

This car in 1986 listed for $16148.00( I have the original window sticker). I have set a very low reserve on the car to help it sell as I might be changing careers and need to let go of some stuff. Car is running, driving, stopping, etc under its own power so if it goes by transporter there are no issues. Car is located about an hour and a half south of Buffalo NY or an hour north of Erie PA. Although it is listed with a reserve, bid what you are willing to pay. I have way to many toys so I dont need any trades. eBay Find of the Day: Mercury Marauder two-door convertible

Never underestimate what you'll see on eBay Motors. Take this unique creation, for example. Near as we can tell, it's the same 2002 Mercury Marauder that was modified into a two-door convertible by Ford for the 2002 Chicago Auto Show. According to the seller, this car still boasts its Eaton supercharger bolted to a 4.6-liter V8 engine, and at the time of its debut, the engine was rated at a lofty 335 horsepower. We have a hard time believing that the extra ponies would do much to offset the weight of the additional frame stiffeners and top mechanism on the car, however.
The vehicle is currently offered for sale by a dealer in Lansdale, Pennsylvania, though the listing is mum on how the convertible managed to make its way from Ford's Windy City show stand into the seller's inventory. NHTSA closes rollaway investigation into 1.56M Ford SUVs

It's taken four years of study, but the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has finally closed the books on its investigation into rollaway accusations surrounding 1.56-million Ford SUV models.
The probe, which centered on the 2002-2005 Ford Explorer, 2002-2005 Mercury Mountaineer and 2003-2005 Lincoln Aviator, ends without the federal agency calling for a recall. According to The Detroit News, the investigation was closed due to a "low number of complaints" - NHTSA documented 180 such complaints that resulted in 14 crashes and six minor injuries, but the number of incidents have been slowing. The suspected defect rate for the trucks' automatic transmissions was found to be 4.4 per 100,000 units, and the brake-shift interlock mechanism failure rate was judged to be even lower at 3.4 per 100k.

Ford has announced five separate recalls, affecting 202,000 vehicles built between 2005 and 2014.
It's not been a great couple of weeks for Ford. On October 30, the company announced a 205,000-unit recall, and yesterday, it was revealed that the Ford brand's year-over-year sales were down over 5,000 units while the company itself was down 3,000 units over through October. Now, the company has announced five separate recalls affecting 202,000 vehicles built between 2005 and 2014.
