1973 Mercury Colony Park Woody Wagon with the 460 Big Block. This car was ordered with every optional upgrade. Seats have been covered since new in 1973. Custom Covers were made for them. The carpet is in excellent shape with a few small stains. I didn't try to clean it or shampoo it. Glass is in great shape. Seats look showroom new. Dash and door panels are excellent. Chrome is shiny. All power options work. 8track player works. The belt for the air conditioning is off. I was told it works but didn't install a new belt so its condition is unknown. The tailgate window is electric and works smoothly. The tailgate opens both ambulance style and also tailgate style depending on which handle you use to open it. The two facing third row seats look never used. I picked the car up out of an old house garage here in Lander last fall from the original owner. I stored it through the winter and now deciding to sell it. I had a local mechanic go through all the fluids…it starts and runs excellent. Floats down the road. Tires are in great shape. No leaks on the concrete floor in my building from sitting the winter. Cracked rubber piece behind front bumper (see pic), golf ball size dent in front bumper (see pic) , vinyl "wood" decal is faded and cracking (see pic), Sun faded paint and vinyl mainly on driver's side. Small rock chips on front of hood from rocks (see pic). There is some fluid around the carb and intake but never enough to get to the ground. Doors are solid, hinges like new. Overall, excellent condition! If you have any questions please ask. I will take additional pics upon request of specific part/area. 57,400 original miles! NO RESERVE! Not far from being showroom new… Original owners manual included.

Ford Recalling 70k Escape and Mariner Hybrids for cooling issue
Fri, 12 Sep 2014Ford is recalling about 70,209 examples of the 2005-2008 Ford Escape Hybrid and the 2006-2008 Mercury Mariner Hybrid because the cooling pumps for their hybrid systems could fail.
According to the company's defect notice, it's possible for the original "Motor Electronics Coolant (MEC) Pump" to wear out and fail, which would could cause the hybrid system to overheat. If this happens, the vehicle goes into a safety mode that takes away most or all of its power. However, braking and steering still operate normally. After cooling down, the affected models restart normally. The company says that it's not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this problem.
Ford will begin repairing the vehicles in late October, and dealers will be installing improved, brushless pumps on the affected models at no charge to owners. If drivers had their pumps fail before this recall, they can contact Ford for a possible reimbursement. Report: Last Mercury for retail business built on Sunday
Mon, 04 Oct 2010Ford is already well into winding down its Mercury line, and the autoamker has announced that the very last of the soon-to-be dead brand's products built for retail sales was manufactured on Sunday, October 3. The final Mercury Mariner rolled off of the assembly line at the company's Kansas City facility, putting an end to a brand with over 70 years of history behind it.
Even after the Mariner heads off into the automotive sunset, Ford says that it will continue to manufacture a handful of Mercury models for fleet and government service for a while longer, though mum's the word on how long we can expect that practice to continue.
Interestingly enough, according to USA Today, most incentives on Mercury vehicles have all but dried up, even as the brand's August production increased by 120 percent compared to July's figures. Instead of cash on the hood, some areas are offering no-cost maintenance or similar programs. Even so, Mercury has continued to out-sell Lincoln right to the end - besting Ford's luxury arm's sales by nine percent in August.
NHTSA and Ford investigating steering issues in Crown Vic, Grand Marquis and Marauder
Fri, 11 Jul 2014There may be more steering woes for the Ford Crown Victoria. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened a preliminary evaluation into the Crown Vic and Mercury Grand Marquis from the 2004 to 2007 model years and the Mercury Marauder for the 2004 and 2005 model years because the steering shaft can jam. The issue could potentially affect an estimated 500,000 vehicles.
According to the regulator, there is a possibility that the driver's side heat shield for the exhaust manifold can rust, dislodge, and then wedge into the steering shaft. If this occurs, it leads to a situation where the driver can no longer control the car.
NHTSA has received five complaints of this happening, including one alleged case with an injury. In that situation, the car was driving onto the highway, lost control and rolled over. One occupant was hurt in the accident.
