For sale is a 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis. 4.6L V8. Very clean and all highway driven 149k miles. Gives 20-24 combined mpg. Brand new Shocks, Matching tires with lot of tread, Clear Title. Keyless entry. This car has upgraded stereo system with IPOD / IPHONE dock, CD, USB, MP3, SD card, and BLUETOOTH handsfree capability. I also have the original factory stereo if you need it. This car has the most comfortable seats with lumbar air support and also comes with a seating capacity of 6. Oil changed every 3k miles. All maintenance done properly at correct intervals. Feel free to ask any questions. I can answer it honestly as possible.
I recently took it for a tune up where all 8 plugs and coil was changed. New Belts, New brakes and rotor. Car runs good except for a occasional minor coolant leak that drips from the thermostat area. Few paint scratches on the hood. I am going to price the buy it now very low with all that in mind. The only reason I am selling this car is because I just got a new car and instead of trading it in for a rock bottom price to a dealer I might as well let someone enjoy it for a while. Basically if you have a mechanic friend to fix the coolant leak for few hundred, you got yourself a steal. You should be safe drive it home with a temp tag for under a distance of 100 miles or so. Should pass any state inspection without a problem. All sale final, sold as is. Thanks.

Jill Wagner retired as Mercury spokeswoman

Wed, 17 Nov 2010

Jill Wagner has officially given up her crown as the queen of Mercury. With the Ford middle child on its way to the scrap heap, Wagner no longer has any automotive hardware to promote. Given her varied talents, we wouldn't be surprised to see her pick up where she left off with another automaker.
And here you thought you'd never be upset about Mercury's passing.
Thanks for the tip, Gregg!

Curtain officially comes down on Mercury as dealers remove signage

Mon, 03 Jan 2011

The process of shutting down the Mercury is complete. Ford officially made the decision to close its mid-level brand in June of 2010. In the months that followed, Ford offered its dealers money to stop selling the cars, with production shutting down in September. The last Mercury, a Mariner, rolled off the assembly line in the beginning of October and former spokesperson Jill Wagner said her good-byes to both the car and her job. Now the last piece of the brand has come down as dealers are removing any and all Mercury signage from their lots.

Preposed class-action lawsuit targets 'defective' MyFord Touch

Tue, 16 Jul 2013

A national law firm, Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro LLP, has filed a proposed class action lawsuit whose presupposition is that MyFord Touch is defective. Specifically, the complaint states that the system - as well as the MyLincoln Touch and MyMercury Touch clones - often freeze, fail to respond to voice or touch commands and have issues connecting to mobile phones.
According to Hagens Berman managing partner Steve Berman, MyFord Touch is a theoretically "brilliant idea" that falls short in actual execution. Said Berman in a press release, "In reality, the system is fundamentally flawed, failing to reliably provide functionality, amounting to an inconvenience at best, and a serious safety issue at worst."
Other MFT issues enumerated within the 41-page filing include problems controlling the window defroster, rear-view camera and navigation system. The suit maintains that Ford is aware of the problem but has yet to submit a workable and acceptable solution to MFT customers. Scroll down if you'd like to read the full press release.
