Newburgh, New York, United States

I am selling this for my mother.. She is the original owner of this clean always maintained fully equipped Mountaineer with a clean CARFAX. The vehicle has all leather seats with no rips or tears with the front seats heated. It has third row seat which manually folds flat for larger cargo area. It has motorized running boards which are controlled by opening and closing the doors and both work as they should. It has a power moon roof and rear entertainment DVD system with fold down screen. It is equipped with a 2 inch receiver although nothing has ever been towed with this vehicle. This thing is loaded with everything but navigation and back up camera. Everything in vehicle works like it should and overall condition of vehicles is very good. There are some minor scratches and blemishes but nothing that shouldn't be expected for a 2008 and a small area of rust just starting in right rear wheel well (see last pic) and right rear window deflector is broke from car wash.. All are welcome and encouraged to come and see and take for a ride. Vehicle is being sold as is and is listed locally so I reserve the right to end auction early. Bid with confidence there will be no disappointments. I believe I have covered everything and have been honest with my description but please feel free to ask any questions and I will answer to the best of my ability in case I forgot something.

If you run the car fax it has 2 owners listed this is because she had leased first and then bought outright at end of lease.

Feel free to contact me @ 845 857 0036 (MIKE) for questions or to set up an appointment to come and take for a ride.

Thanks for Looking and Good Luck....

Feds open investigation into Chevy Express, Ford Freestar rust issues

Wed, 28 Dec 2011

'Tis the season... for road salt. And with that, comes rust. And what does rust bring? Well, for Ford and General Motors, a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation. According to The Detroit News, NHTSA is looking into potential recalls issues with Chevrolet Express vans and Ford Freestar minivans.
The feds have received five complaints that rust has caused leaking fuel filler pipes on 2003 Express vans. Separately, seven complaints have been filed over excessive rust in the rear wheel wells of 2004 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey minivans. The Freestar and Monterey went out of production in 2007. Neither issue has resulted in any crashes or injuries, according to the report.

Ford recalling 370,000 Crown Vic, Grand Marquis and Town Car models

Fri, 30 Aug 2013

The Detroit News is reporting that Ford will recall some 370,000 Crown Victoria (pictured), Mercury Grand Marquis and Lincoln Town Car vehicles from model years 2005 through 2011, for an issue regarding the lower intermediate steering shaft. 355,000 of the vehicles in question were sold in the US, with the other 15,000 sold in Canada.
The report indicates that corrosion of the lower intermediate steering shaft could cause a "loss of steering," presumably because of a partial or complete failure of the part. The report points out the dealers will inspect and replace the offending steering component for recalled cars, and may also secure a lower steering column bearing and replace the upper intermediate steering shaft as needed. The company is unaware of any reports of the faulty part causing any accidents or injuries.
Ford helpfully lists states in which corrosion is more likely to have taken place, mostly in the Snow Belt, as you might guess. Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia are listed.

Ford recalling 126,000 Fusions and Milans over wheel separation concern

Fri, 09 Dec 2011

Ford has announced a recall of certain Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan vehicles after an investigation by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. A total of 128,616 2010 and 2011 models equipped with steel wheels may have been manufactured with wheel studs that could crack and split over time. If that happens, the vehicle may experience a wheel separation.
According to The Detroit News, the company is aware of a total of 30 wheel separation incidents, one of which occurred on the front of the vehicle. Even so, no injuries have been reported as a result of the defect.
The problem apparently stems from the fact that the mounting pads on the vehicles' steel wheels may have been faulty from the factory. In addition, the wheel mounting face on rear disc brakes may not have been installed properly. Ford will inspect the rear disc face and replace them as necessary. In addition, the company will replace all of the vehicle's wheel studs free of charge. Head to the NHTSA website for more information, and click past the jump to view the full recall notice.
