Year:1967 Mileage:47499

Marquette, Michigan, United States

This sale is for:
1967 Morris 850 Mini. The car has approximately 76,443 kilometers (47,499 miles) on it.  It was repainted at some point in its past. It has the original interior. The Mini came with the hydrolastic suspension, also known as wet suspension, and still retains it to this day. I believe I am the 3rd owner.

OTHER INFORMATION:

The car has been sitting for about 2 years. I have too many cars and too little time, so have decided it is time to let this car go. I put a new Optima battery in it along with fresh fuel. It started right up and ran well.

The body is in good condition with only a couple of what appear to be minor rust repairs in both of the rear portion of the rocker panels, just in front of the rear wheelwell arches. There is a small rust spot showing in the left front rocker panel. (See the pictures for more info) The floorboards feel solid and there are no repairs I have seen. The bottom of the battery box has some corrosion so I have put an extra plate in just to keep it solid. There is a minor dent/dimple on the right side door.
The color is a dark maroon. The interior is tan.
The rear frame has been replace due to a couple of cracks in it. The hydrolastic suspension was vacated and then refilled with the proper Morris fluid.

I added a Pertronix Ignition Module. I also change the oil filter system to a spin on oil filter.

The interior is in decent condition, although the carpet/mats are showing age. Each of the front seats have a tear in the bottoms of approximately 1” in length, but are otherwise in good shape.
All the gauges work.

It runs the original engine and complete driveline, as far as I can tell.

The car needs to be serviced, ie:  LOF, fluids checked and added as needed, brakes inspected and adjusted, tires inspected, etc.

The car deserves to be detailed. Washed, waxed, buffed, chrome polished, and interior cleaned and upholstery treated. The car was used, but not abused.

THE FINE PRINT and THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW:

I am sure I have left some details out, so check out the pictures, reread what I have written, e-mail me with your questions AND then bid.

The car is being sold as is, where is. There is no warranty stated, written, or implied. This is a 47 year old vehicle. As any car of this vintage it may need a few things done. I would encourage you to inspect the car first. I have given any info as to the needs of the car, as I know them, in the most honest manner. I like the car and may have inadvertently overlooked some of it’s clunks, rattles, and little quirks.

You will be satisfied with my honest description.

e-mail me with questions. I will gladly call serious buyers if you send your phone and best time to call, but I am not available Sunday mornings.

A nonrefundable deposit of $500.00 must be made within 48 hours of the end of auction. It may be made either by PayPal or U.S.P.S. Postal Money Order (any other type of funds will be considered nonpayment). BALANCE is due within 10 days of the end of the auction or (which ever occurs first) prior to picking the car up, shipping the car, or receiving delivery of the car from the seller. BALANCE must be by wire transfer, cash or other funds that are verifiable and guaranteed at the time of exchange. I will work the details out with the purchaser. NEITHER THE CAR NOR THE TITLE WILL BE GIVEN OUT UNTIL THE FUNDS ARE FULLY EXCHANGED, VERIFIED, AND USABLE IN MY ACCOUNT.

The car is sold as is, where is, however, I will work with you and/or your shipper on being available. Buyer pays all shipping and insurance costs. The winning bidder is responsible for any and all title, plates, taxes, transfers, inspections, insurance, and any other charges related to the purchase of the car.

As always, I retain the right to end the auction for any reason, including if sold through another venue.

Thank you for looking and have a great day

Mini John Cooper Works Paceman is a potent little hot hatch in a fat suit

Mon, 14 Jan 2013

If there's one thing we're never going to complain about, it's that Mini has found it necessary to put the John Cooper Works treatment on every single one of its models. We love the JCW package across the board, and the final installment of the high-performance chapter (for now, anyway) comes in the form of the John Cooper Works Paceman, debuting here at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show.
The John Cooper Works formula hasn't been altered in any way here, and like the JCW Countryman on which the Paceman is based, it comes standard with Mini's All4 all-wheel-drive system. We're sure it'll be a total hoot, and with 218 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque on tap, how could it not?
Look for the Mini JCW Paceman to hit dealerships in March of this year. Need to know more? Scroll down.

Mini reveals refreshed Paceman in Beijing

Sun, 20 Apr 2014

It was just a few days ago that Mini unveiled its refreshed Countryman at the New York Auto Show, and now it has followed up with the revised version of that model's coupe counterpart, the Paceman. Revealed today at the Beijing Motor Show, the new Paceman adopts all the changes applied to the new Countryman - which is to say, not a whole lot, but maybe enough to keep it current for the masses of customers in the market for a three-door version of a vehicle that's bigger than its stablemates but smaller than most other crossovers.
Pictured here in Piano Black (one of three new shades on offer alongside Midnight Grey and the Jungle Green in which the new Countryman was featured), the mildly refreshed Paceman has, like its five-door counterpart, been so subtly updated that we can scarcely tell the difference... even after sorting through the press release below. There are some minor revisions to the exterior, the cabin features slightly updated equipment, and the Cooper S gets an extra few horsepower. And that's about all she wrote, folks.
Mini will offer the updated Paceman worldwide with a wide array of four-cylinder engine options. With no budget-oriented One model, the Cooper is the base model with a 122-horsepower version of the brand's ubiquitous 1.4-liter four and the John Cooper Works sits at the top of the range with 218 hp. The two diesel specs are present as well, and buyers cam choose (on most models) between front- and All4 all-wheel drive.

Mini fesses up to Countryman clutch issue, plans fix

Sat, 10 Nov 2012

Aside from the general lack of snow in the Midwest earlier this year that hampered our ability to properly play with our Blizzak-equipped Mini Contryman long-term test vehicle, the biggest problem we had with this crossover during the year we spent with it was the transmission. On four different monthly updates (September, October, November and June), all in the hands of different Autoblog editors, the Countryman's clutch was called out for being too finicky, leading to many stall outs. Apparently, we weren't alone in our assessment of the Countryman's clutch woes.
According to MotoringFile, Mini has updated the Countryman with a different clutch material and improved software. This much-needed change is being implemented starting this month, but Mini hasn't said what it is doing about existing 2011 and 2012 Countryman models that are afflicted with this problem.
Head over to MotoringFile to see the full official statement from Mini USA on this issue.
