2006 Mini Cooper S, 106k miles, British racing green metallic with a silver top and mirrors, two tone gray/black leatherette interior, 6 speed, sunroof, premium package, Harmon Kardon stereo, cold weather package with heated seats, tinted windows, etc. It is completely stock. This is a local Atlanta car that was ordered from Global Imports Mini/BMW. It has a clean vehicle history through both Carfax and Autocheck. It has never been wrecked or painted. It has just received the 100k service from a local European car specialist. This service includes new sparkplugs, fluid change, filter change and a general once over. The car is in excellent mechanical condition. The car has Continental  runflat tires that are a little over a year old. If you look at any other Mini's, you should make sure they have runflats as they don't have a spare tire. A large percentage of owners and dealers will put non-runflats on to save money. If you have read this ad to this point you should already know that this car has the supercharged engine. This was the last year of this engine prior to the follow up car with a turbo. This car is fast with 168hp.

The flaws on this car are few but should be noted so that you get a full understanding of it's condition before driving over to take a look in person. It has 2-3 spots where the windshield has been damaged by stones. It also has stone chips in the hood that could be touched up and the normal dents, dings and scratches of a car with just over 100k miles. I did remove the factory stripe kit as it was faded. The interior is like new. It has never been smoked in. I have both keys and the original books, window sticker, factory touch up paint and tool kit. Title is in hand and the purchase will be in cash or I will meet you at your bank or credit union to take the funds in check.

I have priced the car fairly at $8195. I have seen base models sell for this price so you are getting a deal. I have done my research as to the value of this car, so if you want to come over and whine and negotiate please save us both a lot of time and go to a dealer that gets paid for this type of nonsense. I live in Sandy Springs near Riverside Drive and I-285 and the car can be viewed at my home. If you have any questions not addressed above, just shoot me an email.

Mini Art Beat is a loud, driving social media billboard

Sat, 10 Aug 2013

Video billboards are nothing new, but a video on a moving car that's blaring music? Now that's something that will catch your attention - especially if you're driving alongside it in the streets of London.
That's the exact intent of Mini's new Art Beat, a Cooper Countryman turned marketing device that is custom-fitted with a staggering 48,000 LEDs. On its nightly drives through the city, the compact crossover showcases brightly colored videos, graphics and animations contributed by people around the world via social media. The Mini Space Blog describes the Art Beat as the "most vibrant and customizable NOT NORMAL ride you'll ever lay eyes on."

BMW restores classic Mini as it revives production in Netherlands

Wed, 13 Nov 2013

Mini will be kicking off production in the Netherlands, a country that hasn't built a Mini-badged machine since 1966. In honor of this event, BMW Group Classic, the team responsible for all the cars in the BMW Museum, as well as being a spare parts and restoration company in its own right, revived a classic 1959 Austin Seven. That particular car, number 983, was one of the first Minis to be built in the Netherlands.
The Netherlands' JJ Molenaar's Car Companies built 4,000 Austin Sevens and Morris Mini-Minors between 1959 and 1966, although we imagine Dutch Mini production will be much bigger when it starts up again in summer 2014. A five-person team from VDL Nedcar, the group handling production of new Minis, took to the job of restoring the diminutive British car from nose to tail.
The 34-horsepower engine and the transmission were both completely rebuilt, while the door panels were redone by hand. Help from the Mini community aided the VDL Nedcar team in finding authentic replicas or original parts where possible. All told, the new classic Mini is a striking example of what a good restoration can do to a car. The Seven was repainted in its original Farina Gray, adding to the car's sense of authenticity.

BMW, Mini aim to sell million cars off new FWD platform

Mon, 22 Jul 2013

Mini sold 301,526 cars in 2012; BMW sold 1.54 million of its own models. According to a piece in Autocar, analysts say the coming UKL1 platform that will form the skeleton of the third-generation Mini Cooper and coming front-wheel drive BMW 1 Series could be responsible for "more than 900,000 cars per year" all by itself.
That sale fire is fueled by the UKL1 wearing up to twenty-three bodies in total between the two brands, 11 for Mini and 12 for BMW, rendering hatchbacks, sedans, coupes, convertibles, wagons, crossovers and people-haulers from about 12.5 feet to 14.5 feet. In April the VP of Mini USA said we might find some current models don't make it to a next generation, but a graphic accompanying the Autocar story has them all there. If it's correct, then those 23 models will only base model lines and don't account for different engines and four-wheel-drive options for each model.
The big changes that would perhaps mean big sales for the Mini line are a five-door hatch with two smaller rear doors for children, the sedan talked about last year for Asian markets and an MPV perhaps wearing the "Traveler" name that could send the Countryman in a more SUV-like direction.
