This is a real 1962 Austin Mini Barn Find and will need a complete restoration.

This is about as solid of a relatively un-restored Min you'll find.
It was found in storage sitting over 20 years. When I found it the brakes were locked up and I was unable to start it.
I had a new aluminum water pump and aluminum radiator installed as sell as a new fan belt.
There is also an updated alternator and new starter and solenoid.
I also had the cylinder head removed machined and had the valves ground.
The car runs very nicely. and shifts through all the gears and goes into revers nicely as well.
This is a all drum brake car. I did rebuild the brake cylinders and the car does stop suficiently.
I also purchased a new set of YOKOHAMA 165/70r10 tires and have them mounted on a classic set of Cosmic rims.
There is a new battery as well.
This was originally a 988cc engine - I think. But at some time in its life someone put in a 1275 with twin SU carbs and a OEM header.
That is what I know mostly.
The car does have the origional hood that has the Austin badge on it. It in in the same condition as the rest of the car.Sorry for no pictures of it.

2013 Mini Cooper S Paceman All4

Thu, 14 Feb 2013

In just over a decade, Mini has expanded its modern range from the singular Hardtop model (launched in 2002) to a full range of little runabouts. The latest of these is the Paceman, and while European Editor Matt Davis gave us the full scoop on this model late last year, we recently spent time with the all-wheel-drive model just outside of Ponce, Puerto Rico.
It's weird, this Paceman. It slots in between the Hardtop and the Countryman (on which its based) in terms of size and functionality, and Mini says that it will appeal to a more style-conscious shopper. Key competitors range anywhere from the Nissan Juke on the low end to the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque on the high end.
After spending lots of time with the Countryman, we're convinced that maxi can still be Mini. And the same is true with this Paceman, too.

2013 Mini Countryman gets updates

Thu, 01 Nov 2012

It's been two years since the debut of Mini's Countryman crossover. In that time, the general public has indeed warmed to the idea of a big Mini - we grew to rather like it during our long-term test - and for 2013, a few small, thoughtful updates are on tap for the brand's range-topper.
The big change for the Countryman concerns the power window toggles, though Mini would also like you to notice the new Carbon Black ring around the center speedometer and new interior colors. Mini window controls have long resided in the center console, lost among the number of other buttons. The new Countryman breaks with that trend by moving the buttons to the door armrest, where it is located on most other passenger vehicles. We first saw this on the production Paceman that debuted in Paris earlier this year. This location also allows for a multi-button panel on the driver's side door. Previously, opening and closing all windows meant hitting each button individually.
Also of note is the removal of the two standard bucket seats in the second row, instead being replaced with a bench seat. Those who appreciate the customizable center rail in four-seat models can still select rear bucket seats, however. The 2013 Countryman is scheduled to hit European dealers sometime in November with US sales to follow shortly thereafter.

Get lost in Evo's sublime 2013 Car of the Year testing

Fri, 08 Nov 2013

Every year Evo stages its Car of the Year test, bringing the best performance cars in the world to one location for an epic shootout. This year the magazine pitted eight CotY finalists against each other on Route Napoleon in Southern France - Evo claims it's the "best road in the world" - and then proceeded to nitpick the smallest of faults on each car until the winner could be named. You see, this year's lineup of machines was just so good that only one car obviously wasn't CotY material from the get-go. Can you guess which one judging from the list below?
- Aston Martin V12 Vantage S
- Audi R8 V10 Plus
