2003 Mini Cooper Non Super Charged Jcw Rare Number 510 Out Of 530 on 2040-cars
Middletown, Delaware, United States
2003 Mini Cooper Non Super Charged JCW fairly rare and unique. Number 510 out of 530 I have been told. The throw out bearing will have to be changed but if I end up not selling it I will do the clutch and throw out bearing. It runs great beside the throwout bearing being bad though it has a slow oil leak into the coolant situation that the mechanic that has worked on it said it could be the oil filter housing oring. It happened after I had a filter stuck on and he removed it. He pressure checked the coolant system and leak checked it all good. It does not effect the running of the car. It has fairly new tires, radiator was leaking so new radiator installed around 220,000 along with the alternator, water pump and idler pulley while I was in there. The brakes were replaced at 215,000 those were the original a lot of highway driving. Always used Amsoil in the engine and transmission. Everything worked when I parked it and it ran great. Planned on fixing it but just haven't had the time. I will if it doesn't sell. The car handles great also and is a blast to drive and with the JCW option head, exhaust and suspension it really makes a difference but you don't have to deal with the super charger. Please look at the pictures and ask any questions you have I would be be glad to show it before you bid if you would like. I am selling it as is where is. Thank you for bidding.

2014 Mini Cooper S Paceman [w/video]
Mon, 12 Nov 2012Not Too Odd, Not Too Maxi. Is This Mini Just Right?
We recently got our first time behind the wheel of the latest iteration of the Mini Countryman, the 215-horsepower John Cooper Works model, and were left less than enthused despite the inherent fun factor that a JCW badge brings. Our time with the crossover suggests the Countryman is just too weighty and soft to properly wear the badge.
We have also spent loads of time in various Mini Clubman trims and, despite the oddity of its configuration, this model may be our overall favorite in the current Mini lineup. But it is decidedly not a volume seller, which Mini needs.
Mini adding new driver assist systems to future models
Sun, 13 Oct 2013With all the recent news about automated vehicle technology (from Ford, Nissan and Toyota, among others), Mini is bringing some not-so-groundbreaking tech into its products to better keep the driver connected to the car. Other than stating that these new technologies will roll out in future models, there is no telling when we could see them starting to show up, although our best guess is the 2015 Mini Cooper.
Two of the more notable technologies that Mini will introduce include a head-up display system (shown above) and the "city braking" system to work in conjunction with collision warning and passenger detection. The automated braking system is made possible with the forward-mounted camera, which is also used for adaptive cruise control, auto-dimming headlights and a street sign detection system (to relay speed limit and traffic sign info to the driver). A new parking assist feature helps drivers find a properly sized parking spot, and then drivers can take advantage of the backup camera.
Mini obviously isn't the first to introduce these technologies, but it might be among the first to bring such a large number of advanced safety features into a car priced under $30,000 - though there is no telling how much these options will cost. The automaker has issued a brief press release for its upcoming driver assist systems, which is posted below.
Mini ditches four-seat Countryman
Wed, 10 Oct 2012Mini is walking away from the rear bucket seats in its Countryman crossover. MotoringFile.com reports that starting in 2013, the CUV will no longer offer just two seats in the second row. Originally, Mini was forced to offer the buckets due to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration rules governing the the minimum vehicle width for the allowance of three-wide seating. That rule was recently changed, which allowed Mini to offer the bench seat. Not surprisingly, few buyers have opted for the awkward bucket-and-rail configuration since. Moving forward, all Countryman models will also come with the vehicle's flat-load rear floor as well.
During our time with our long-term Countryman, we found the middle rail between the two buckets to be a bit gimmicky, especially given the fact that the cup holders were only large enough to accommodate a 12-ounce can.
