2012 Red/black Mini Cooper Coupe 19,000 Miles Showroom Condition on 2040-cars
Rockport, Massachusetts, United States
You are bidding on a 2012 MINI Cooper Coupe in excellent condition. It was purchased new to be used as a commuter car, but a change in work meant it has been mainly used for tooling around this rural Massachusetts community. It has only 18,900 miles on it, and is in close to new condition. The interior is fresh and new looking, and everything works as new. I'm a mid-career professional who got it mainly for gas savings, so this car has not been driven hard or abused. See the photos of the actual car to get an idea of its condition.
If you purchased this used at a dealer you would be paying in the $21000-$22000 range, so getting this through eBay should save you quite a bit. This is the base model with a 1.6 liter engine. I didn't get the S model because I wanted to maximize gas mileage (depending on how you drive it can get close to 40 miles per gallon). This doesn't mean this car is less powerful performance-wise, it's an amazingly peppy car that handles like a sports car. |

Mini Cooper Hardtop 4-Door configurator is open for all
Thu, 11 Sep 2014The Mini Cooper five-door hatchback, which the company insists on calling the Mini Hardtop 4 Door, doesn't start arriving at US dealers until January 2015. However, if you dig the latest model's styling but can't live without the two extra doors, you can start speccing one right now in the recently launched configurator.
The new five-door hatch isn't just the standard model with extra doors squished in. It rides on a 2.8-inch longer wheelbase and is 6.3-inches longer overall. That means more room for rear passengers and extra space to haul stuff in the boot. The engine options are shared though with a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder with 134 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque for the Cooper or a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder with 189 hp and 207 lb-ft in the Cooper S. Both are available with a six-speed manual or automatic.
Prices (including destination) for that extra space starts at $21,450 for the Cooper or $25,100 for the Cooper S, which is $1,000 more than the three-door in both cases. However, like any modern Mini, these guys are extremely customizable from the factory. There are an array of colors, 10 option packages and a ton of other add-ons to choose from.
Mini Clubman Concept isn't mini, isn't a Clubman
Wed, 05 Mar 2014Hey, remember when Mini was... mini? I know, you've heard all this before. But seriously.
Take this new Mini Clubman Concept, for example. As you'll recall, the current Clubman slots in between the Hardtop and Countryman models in the Mini lineup. But because the new, third-generation Mini has grown, so has everything else. And in fact, the concept car seen here is actually 4.4 inches longer and just over 2 inches wider than the current, already-large Countryman. The future of Mini looks awfully maxi.
Furthermore, the Clubman as we know it uses a weird, five-door layout (two up front, a third, suicide door, and two barn doors out back), but this concept adds a sixth door for a decidedly more conventional layout. Of course, four real doors for passengers sort of takes the uniqueness out of the Clubman package, and essentially makes this thing a not-as-tall, front-wheel-drive Countryman. Totally necessary, right?
