I've decided it's time to sell my Eclipse for something different. Has only 146,xxx miles, no rust, starts immediately every time. Features sun roof, nice leather interior with no rips or cracking, power everything, hot heat and cold A/C, 3.0L V6 is good on gas, automatic transmission with slap-shift, 18" TSW rims in hyper silver with keyed lug nuts, 5mm spacers in the rear, two-tone gloss and flat black paint, spray-tinted Euro tail lights. Less than a thousand miles on the oil change. Has a Kenwood CD receiver that is MP3/USB/I-Pod compatible. Also comes with the stock 17" rims and lug nuts, though the rims are in rough condition and need tires; throw some snow tires on them and you're set for winter while keeping the 18's from the salt.

Could still use new front shocks, I just never got around to it. I replaced the rear hatch, so submodel badge on hatch states RS from the donor car, and I installed the spoiler to the new hatch. The bumper and hood are beat up from the previous owner (I zip-tie stitched cracks in the bumper) but both could easily be found at a junk yard or online on the cheap. A few other unnoticeable dings throughout, some scratches. Windshield is cracked, though not in the driver's line of vision. I was quoted $150 out the door by Safelite to have a new one installed, again I just never got around to it. Also recently developed an exhaust leak but is not too loud. With some TLC this could easily be a very nice car again.

Greg Tracy's MiEV Evolution III topped the time sheets almost 14 seconds ahead of third-place Monster Tajima.
On Thursday, qualifying times for six categories were set on the bottom-section switchbacks of Pikes Peak: Electric Modified - near-unlimited showcases of electric-vehicle engineering; Electric Production - electric vehicles "readily available to the public;" Open Wheel - single engine, open wheeled, open cockpit, single seat vehicles; Open - based upon a production or approved-aftermarket-replica vehicle; Exhibition - a prototype or pre-production vehicle limited to one year of eligibility in this class; and Vintage - vehicles and drivelines from 1990 or earlier.
Mitsubishi recalling 2013 Outlander Sport for suspension issue
Mon, 22 Jul 2013Just 305 units of the 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport are the subject of a recall over a potential suspension issue. Crossovers made from January 17-25 of this year might suffer from a bad weld on the front left strut's stabilizer link. If it fails, damage to the brake hose or tire could result, in turn making steering or braking control of the compact CUV more difficult.
When the recall begins, owners can take their Outlander Sports to Mitsubishi dealers for inspection and replacement of the strut assembly if necessary. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration bulletin below has more information.
Mitsubishi debuts Concept CA-MiEV, a new suburban EV with a 186-mile range
Tue, 05 Mar 2013Mitsubishi is stretching the electric jellybean. For years, the i-MiEV was regular presence at Mitsubishi's auto show booths around the world, and the car rightfully earned its nickname because of its rounded shape. Today, at the Geneva Motor Show, Mitsubishi finally unveiled a version of the i-MiEV that looks much more more at home among the alternative-powertrain car fleet of the near future.
But there's more being elongated here than just the shape. The official range of the standard i (as the i-MiEV is known in the US) is 62 miles. The Concept CA-MiEV - where the CA stands for Compact and Advanced - is supposed to be able to go 300 kilometers (186 miles) from a 28-kWh lithium-ion battery and lightweight 80-kW motor/inverter/charger unit. This is kind of astonishing, given the range estimates of other compact and midsize EVs on the market today - most are in the 80-100-mile range. Of course, the specific test used to get the 186-mile result matters, too, since the regular i received 98 miles on the LA4 driving cycle range. The US-i has a 16-kWh pack.
The increased distance means that Mitsubishi is talking about the Concept CA-MiEV as the "suburban EV," with enough range for "about one week of driving for an average European driver." If you need more, Mitsubishi hints that the flat battery pack leaves room for a range-extender. Add in convenience features like WiTricity wireless charging and the ability for the car to send an emergency email if it's stolen, and you've got the commuting vehicle of the future. With a coefficient of drag of just 0.26 and boomerang lights, of course.
