This NO RESERVE Auction is for our 2004 Mitsubishi Montero Sport. Understand as per the title this vehicle is NOT running. The
timing belt broke while driving and this is an interference type engine,
meaning there is a possibility of bent valves from hitting the pistons once the engine went out of time.
The repair might be as simple as replacing the timing belt and pulling
the heads and replacing a couple of bent valves, or it might require a
replacement engine. This cant be known until the engine is torn down.
The body is in great shape, the front and rear bumpers front grill and right fender were replaced/repaired and repainted two years ago after an accident (no frame damage). The interior is decent, and we are non smokers. It could use a cleaning, but no rips, or stains, other than there is one small hole in the back of the driver head rest from before we bought the truck. The gas tank and fuel pump are new, as they where replaced by the Mitsubishi dealer 3 months ago. The tires are less than a year old and are in great shape. This SUV also has a trailer hitch, which is about two years old, replaced after the same accident mentioned above. This truck goes down the road straight, with no shimmies. It is a full time all wheel drive, with a selector for 4 hi and low 4x4 lock. The 4x4 parts all work. Also it has power mirrors, windows and locks. Cruise control, tilt wheel, am/fm/CD. Basically a nice SUV in need of an engine or repair of the engine. We have had it 10 years and almost 160,000 miles so we choose not to invest any money into it. You must make arraignments to tow this vehicle yourself as I do not have a way to move it. 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander unveiled with new look, standard seating for seven
Thu, 29 Nov 2012The 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander wears the new face previewed at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year, and adds a host of features on top of its seven standard chairs. Ditching the shark-nosed Lancer-inspired front has reduced drag, increased use of high-tensile steel means a 200-pound weight loss and the reworked 2.4-liter four-cylinder paired a CVT will all result in what Mitsubishi says is one of the most fuel-efficient vehicles in the seven-passenger segment. Looks-wise, around the rest of the vehicle come sharper sculpting and more character lines.
Reaching higher inside, the IP is now soft-touch, and a heavily restyled interior with woodgrain accents is more somber, but more elegant. Mod-cons have gone up a step, too: the 2014 Outlander getting a next-generation nav system, a power tailgate that can be opened from the driver's seat and safety tech like Lane Departure Warning.

We'd like to say that Mitsubishi has had a tough time of it lately, but "lately" isn't exactly the proper descriptor since the brand's troubles have slowly built over the past decade or so. It cut back on its marketing and it cut model lines while leaving what remained in the equivalent of a product cryo-freeze. Then there was the financial crash and replacement models that didn't possess the same edge we expected from the house of the triple diamond. There was the lack of a North American chairman to fight for market-specific initiatives, and hence, models that lacked some of the details that US customers desired and that could sway buying choices in close races. True, that's a battle with an overseas headquarters that you'll hear from the US reps for almost every foreign automaker, but as you pile on the obstacles they multiply exponentially, not additionally. Or there's this: For more than a year, while its competition has been trumpeting new product, Mitsubishi hasn't had any new models. Like, at all.
That changes with the arrival of the 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander, an SUV that we're told will begin a new-product offensive over the next 18 months that - along with a much larger marketing budget - should begin to turn things around. This is the third generation of Mitsubishi's volume model, one that hasn't really been changed since it arrived in 2006 and wasn't just showing its age, but practically crowing about it.
Consumer Reports: Ford Fusion fun but flawed; Mitsubishi i-MiEV slow, chintzy [w/videos]
Wed, 23 Jan 2013Waiting for a Ford compliment from Consumer Reports these days is like waiting for a low-cost new product from Apple. So we weren't really expecting a glowing review of the 2013 Ford Fusion when CR got its hands on the car. The institute's crew bought three different versions of the Fusion (Hybrid, 1.6-liter EcoBoost and a Titanium with the 2.0-liter EcoBoost) to put through its barrage of tests, and while we aren't too surprised by some of the findings, they're still interesting nonetheless.
CR praises the Fusion for its "eye-catching" design and says that the sportier Titanium trim level is the best-handling midsize sedan they've ever tested, but that's about where the good news ends for Ford. The Fusion Hybrid also posted the best-ever fuel economy CR has recorded in a midsize sedan, but the only problem is that their number was 39 miles per gallon combined - far less than Ford's 47 mpg rating for city, highway and combined. As expected, CR also dinged the Fusion for its MyFord Touch, but some of the other gripes about the car include a cramped cabin and poor fit and finish.
Other Ford products tested this time around include the Focus Electric and C-Max Hybrid. Like the Fusion, CR's observed fuel economy of 37 mpg for the C-Max fell well short of Ford's advertised 47-mpg rating, and both cars were criticized for the use of MyFord Touch. CR notes that the Focus Electric's interior is also cramped, with the battery pack taking up a lot of cargo space.
