1977 Nissan Datsun 280z for sale. Automatic transmission, only 5,000 miles on it. Has had an engine rebuild from about 8 years ago, have receipts.

Pros:
Body is in good condition, relatively little rust considering the age
Has been painted recently
Runs very well when it starts, needs to be jumped
Interior needs some work but is for the most part very good
New distributor, alternator (may need to be replaced), voltage regulator, master brake cylinder, brake booster and brake seals in rear. Literally just got out of shop, have receipts

Cons:
Has some major electrical problems, might have a short somewhere, may have killed the alternator
Idles a little low and has some ignition trouble, usually takes a few tries when it's been sitting for a little while, but runs beautifully once it gets going.
Will need new radio, last one broke (also was an aftermarket piece of garbage)
Will need a new dash at some point (does have a custom carpet dash cover) and will need to be reupholstered.
Some minor water leakage in the back, seals on the rear window (and most other places) are degrading.

I recently bought this car but am unable to afford to keep it. The electrical problems have unfortunately caused it to break down a few times, pretty sure we've narrowed it down to being a possible short somewhere under the dash, but am in desperate need of a good commuter car, so need to sell this one. Had 4,000 miles in it when I purchased it, so only put on 1,000, but was a very solid 1,000 miles. Very solid car aside from the electrical problems. Definitely easily restorable.

Indie rockers Local Natives perform from back of Nissan Rogue

Wed, 16 Jul 2014

Most bands go through a fairly simple trajectory of vehicles to make it to shows. When they form, it's all about just getting to the gig and anything works. As they build a following and start touring a little regionally, they upgrade to a van to fit all of the members and equipment. Finally, if they taste big time success, they move to the tour bus. However, indie band Local Natives is taking an interesting detour from that path in a new promotion from Nissan called Off the Stage for the Rogue.
The members show up to the middle of nowhere in a pair of the CUVs, and in a few minutes the vehicles are set up to be the group's sound system and its stage. This promo also acts as a video for the song Breakers, which is a bit of a slow jam, but the scenery is absolutely beautiful. Scroll down to watch the Local Natives turn the Rogue into a place to perform practically anywhere.

Behold your 2015 Nissan Versa Sedan, America

Fri, 11 Apr 2014

If you've been hoping that the 2015 Nissan Versa Sedan would adopt something of the Versa Note hatchback's styling aesthetic, consider your hopes dashed. This is the facelifted four-door Versa, which is set to make its official debut next week at the New York Auto Show.
You can make your own minds up on the exterior rework, which is a fairly gentle evolution of the current model. The headlights and a new, familial grille are the two big changes for the front of the Versa that give it a bit of Altima style. Out back, the headlights are slightly tweaked, while a sportier rear bumper is the most noticeable change. The top-end Versa SL also adds new mirrors, complete with Audi-ish integrated turn signals, while the Versa SV adds new 15-inch alloys.
Tweaks for the Versa's huge interior are kept to a minimum, and constitute a new steering wheel and a tweak to the center stack, along with some improved materials. Like the Versa Note, Nissan has fitted the NissanConnect infotainment system, although it's only available on the Versa SL.

Watch a Nissan GT-R make up 17 spots on the first lap

Mon, 28 Apr 2014

By now, enthusiasts should be plenty used to seeing the Nissan GT-R passing "lesser" vehicles on the road - and let's face it, that accounts for a good 99-percent of other cars out there. But what about on the racetrack, where GT racers are all homologated to the same general specifications and tuned with an eye toward fairer competition?
Turns out Godzilla is just as formidable an adversary on the track, as demonstrated by this latest video. Shot from inside the cabin of British driver Alex Buncombe's GT3 racer during the Blancpain Endurance Series race at Monza, the video shows what happens (or at least happened this time) when a well-driven GT-R is relegated to the back of the grid - even when that grid is populated by the likes of Porsche, Aston Martin, Lamborghini and McLaren.
Buncombe and his teammates in the Nissan GT Academy Team RJN ultimately finished the race in 13th place, but what's remarkable is that they started way back in 32nd, making up 17 places on the first lap alone. Scope out the frenetic action in the video below.
