this has been a project car of mine and i have found another project that has been put on the front burner as my son has joined the marines so i am focused on his rx7 to restore before he returns home and show him how proud of his decision to protect our country.&nbsp; So im selling my project to fund his.&nbsp; this is a very well restored body and i have a documented book for a good part of this car. It has a 4k paint job (viper red) and it shines better than the car did when it was first built new.&nbsp; all new suspension parts and upgrades where installed if offered aftermarket and the 383 stroker small block chevy was built by a very good builder in st. Louis mo.&nbsp; it has forged internals, eldebrock aluminum heads, custom exhaust including headers to side pipes. the cam is a mild street cam so it could be calm yet beastly lill rocket. the tranny is 700r4 overdrive with shift kit, b&amp;m shifter and the rear end was totally rebuilt and installed timkin bearings and 373 gear ratio. the outside is 95% complete and the inside needs to be installed/redone as this was the only thing i did not get to. i did get celica buckets and new carpet but they are just setting in car at this time, it has power windows and they do work great. this was a turbo car when it was new so i had the engine built to hold 18lbs of boost as i was going that route until i got into the installment part&nbsp; but the build was getting way over budget so i didnt&nbsp; go with the supercharger kit. the car is very capable as it is right now.&nbsp; this is great lill car that has been built very well but needs finished, please feel free to call with questions. 573 694 0540&nbsp; thanks.&nbsp; i have a very good shipper i deal with so if you are in need of one just ask and you can deal with yourself or i can help arrange shipping and if my reserve is met i will pay for shipping as long as its in the states. i also have this for sale locally so i may end auction at any time thanks, <br>

Nissan adds 500 jobs in Mississippi for Murano production [w/video]

Fri, 30 May 2014

Nissan is bolstering its workforce at its Canton, MS factory, adding 500 workers for this fall's production kickoff of the heavily redesigned Murano crossover.
"The addition of Murano to our portfolio, coupled with the continued growth and success of the Canton plant, will move us even closer to our goal to build more than 85 percent of the vehicles we sell in the US right here in North America," said senior vice president of manufacturing, supply chain management and purchasing for Nissan's North American ops, John Martin.
The Murano will eventually be exported to over 100 markets and will be built alongside the current Xterra, Frontier, Titan and Armada. The addition of 500 jobs to the Canton facility elevates its total workforce past 6,000 people.

New Nissan Pulsar marks brand's return to the European C-segment [w/videos]

Tue, 20 May 2014

Following a small teaser, Nissan has unveiled its newest entry into the hotly contested European C-segment. Making new use of the Pulsar nameplate, it will attempt to take the fight to market stalwarts, like the Ford Focus, Volkswagen Golf and Vauxhall Astra.
The new five-door will be built on Nissan's modular CMF2 architecture, which also underpins the Euro-spec Qashqai and X-Trail (known in the US as the Rogue). It's a larger vehicle than one of its main challengers, the Golf, riding on a 106.3-inch wheelbase, which is 2.4 inches longer than the VW. It's also longer overall, at 172.6 inches.
The new Pulsar is a moderately powered little five-door, boasting an engine lineup familiar to anyone that knows the Qashqai. A 1.2-liter, turbocharged gas engine offers up 113 horsepower, while those that need a bit more oomph can wait for the late-availability, 187-hp, 1.6-liter turbo that American drivers will know from the Juke crossover. Diesel fans will be able to opt for a 1.5-liter mill that delivers 192 pound-feet of torque and 108 hp. No surprise here, but continuously variable transmissions are the order of the day.

Nissan's Taxi of Tomorrow shut down by NYC courts [UPDATE]

Tue, 08 Oct 2013

Justice Schlomo Hagler may have just put a big dent in Nissan's plans to rule New York City's taxi fleets and outgoing Mayor Mike Bloomberg's vision of a unified fleet of yellow cabs.
As an October 28 deadline approached that would see all current, non-hybrid taxis replaced over by the Nissan NV200 over a three-to-five-year span, the legal battle that's enveloped the Taxi of Tomorrow program from the start has intensified. In a lawsuit, the Greater New York Taxi Association claims New York's Taxi and Limousine Commission overstepped its powers in mandating that taxi fleets are refitted with the NV200, according to the New York Daily News. This isn't the first time the courts have sided with the cabbies in the ToT debate.
Justice Hagler agreed with the cabbies, striking down the Taxi of Tomorrow purchasing requirements, and saying, "Simply stated, the power to contract and compel medallion owners to purchase the Nissan NV200 from Nissan for ten years does not exist in the City Charter," according to The Wall Street Journal.
