For sale is a very original 1984 Nissan 50th Anniversary 300ZX Turbo. Car has a clean California title, and has passed California smog recently. It runs and drives very well with the exception of soft front shocks, which are still the Nissan made electronically controlled struts. Nothing leaks, ticks or smokes. All 5 gears in the transmission work smoothly and have a very positive firm shift. Engine is Nissan's famous "VG-30E" V-6. Suspension is independent with disc brakes on all four corners. Rolling-stock is the turbine style aluminum 15" rims with gold accents. Tires are Fire-Stone "Fire-Hawk GTs" with about 90% tread. The power windows both work, but the switch for the passenger side is touchy. Interior is very nice, but does show minor wear and one small tear at the seam near the top of the passenger seat (as seen in photo). The dash is flawless and encases the fun-to-look-at full digital instrumentation with wood-grain accents around the shifter and window switches. Seats are black leather embossed with the 50th anniversary logo, to match are black leather door panels which are also very clean for their age. The paint used to be silver, but now wears a black paint job that looks good; however, it does have a few minor dings and chips, and there is one chip on the driver's side taillight lens. This is an extremely rust-free California car, and is a fun experience to drive. A few things don't work, such as the inner driver's side door handle, power antenna, and the odometer shows 179,000 miles. and has stopped working about 2 months ago. The compass and accelerometer work, but seldom. Overall, this is a great, unaltered example of the rare 50th anniversary 300ZX Turbo that needs nothing mechanically changed to be driven and enjoyed safely and reliably. To see and drive the car or if you need more photos, Please call 916-652-6852 weekdays and ask for Skyler. |

Did Amazon just deliver a car in a giant box?
Tue, 07 Jan 2014Back in September, reports started rolling in that Amazon would get into the auto sales business after a promo for the Nissan Versa Note appeared on the online retailer's page. That link didn't actually sell a car, but instead acted as a referral service for potential customers, linking them up with dealers. A recent image that's been floating around on Reddit and that was picked up by The Huffington Post, though, has us wondering if Amazon has dove into the actual business of selling cars, rather than just referring people to dealers.
The image, above, shows an enormous Amazon box on the back of a flatbed tow truck. According to HuffPo, this could be one of the cars sold through the earlier promotion for the Versa Note (which was sweetened with the addition a $1,000 Amazon gift card). Apparently, three of the Versas purchased would arrive in such a fashion. Then again, this could all be nothing more than an elaborate publicity stunt. Amazon is, after all, the company has been touting drone delivery of its goods.
What do you think is in the box? Let us know down in Comments. Bonus points for those that come up with an idea as absurd as the bulk order of banana slicers HuffPo mentioned.
Gran Turismo vs reality as Red Bull pro-gamer takes on Nismo pro racer
Tue, 31 Dec 2013The last time we saw a real racing driver pitted against a professional gamer, Viagame threw one of each in a Renault Megane RS and the contest was staged as the pro driver navigated the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona. That could be seen as a handicap for the gamer, since he's got to get his drive on while dealing with all sorts of unfamiliar G-force sensations that are out of time with what he's doing. Even so, the gamer won.
Nismo has taken its turn, running almost the same contest at Silverstone in the UK. This time, though, it has put its GTAcademy Driver and pro driver Wolfgang Reip in a car by himself, while Red Bull pro gamer Erik Leštach gets to play Gran Turismo 6 safely locked down in the pits. With each driver in his chosen milieu, the game is afoot.
You can find out who won by watching the video below, and for a chance to win something yourself, Nismo will send a box of goodies to whomever guesses the winning time in the video's comments on YouTube.
Nissan wants an American driver for its Le Mans team

"We'll use every driver development tool we have to take them to the next level, but they will also have to step up." - Darren Cox
Nissan is aiming to put an American behind the wheel of one of its LMP1 racecars in 2016 as part of plans to grow its motorsports program in the United States.
