1988 Nissan 300 Zx Limited Edition Turbo Ss on 2040-cars
Nampa, Idaho, United States
1988 Nissan 300 ZX Limited Edition Turbo SS. The SS stands for Shiro Special and is one of 500 shipped to the US of the original 1000 ever produced which makes this the most collectible of ALL Z Cars. I purchased this car from Dennis Dillon Nissan in October 1988 and drove it off the showroom floor. I am the original owner that understood how special this Z was, but also enjoyed driving the car and not just looking at in in the garage as these cars were meant to be driven. It came with standard pearl white paint and Recaro Seats, but I purchased summer wheels and tires and kept the original white spoke that have almost new studded snow tires on all four. The summer tires have almost 5000 miles on them and are in excellent condition. I had the local Nissan Dealer owner review the overall condition and estimated value, he claims that overall the car is 7.5 to 8 out of 10 and the last one he saw at an auction sold for over $30,000 but was in excellent condition and under 35,000 miles. I gave this car to my oldest daughter that drove it through high school but is now in collage and does not need a vehicle, so the car has been in storage for the past year. I just replaced the entire clutch, flywheel, pressure plate and both bearings, less than 100 miles. You will not be disappointed in the overall condition.

Nissan recalling 2012-14 Frontier pickups over fire risk
Mon, 24 Feb 2014Nissan is recalling its Frontier pickup over fire concerns, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration bulletin. A total of 13,535 vehicles are being recalled, all from the 2012 to 2014 model years, built between November 28, 2012 and December 27, 2013.
The NHTSA report states that "in the affected vehicles, a circuit breaker may have been installed incorrectly causing the main wire harness connected to the circuit breaker to face outward, potentially contacting a metal bolt located on the A-pillar." If this happens, it's possible that "the bolt may wear though the wire harness covering, resulting in an electrical short," NHTSA states. In the event of an electric short, a fire may occur.
The official recall will begin in March, where Nissan dealers will inspect the circuit breaker for the correct orientation, and if necessary, repair the vehicles, free of charge. Scroll down for the full NHTSA bulletin.
Mitsubishi and Renault-Nissan expand partnership, US will get new sedan
Tue, 05 Nov 2013Mitsubishi and Renault-Nissan have just inked an alliance that might, hopefully, reverse the ailing fortunes of the Mitsubishi brand in the US market. The big chunk of news is that Mitsubishi will produce two Renualt-based models for sale in the US market, and that they'll be built at the Renault-Samsung factory in Busan, South Korea.
The plans call for a D-segment sedan to be followed by a C-segment offering. Based on the cars built at the Busan factory, that means Mitsubishi will be getting the SM5 and the SM3, a pair of handsome sedans that are based on Renault-Nissan's D and C platforms, respectively. These same platforms underpin a number of US market Nissans (not to mention a number of cars from Renault), namely the Pathfinder, Maxima, Quest and Murano for the D platform and the last-generation Rogue and Sentra for the C platform.
Besides the sedan production, Nissan and Mitsubishi will be expanding their joint-venture company, NMKV, which produces Kei cars for the Japanese market. A new, all-electric offering will be born from the partnership, likely based on a Kei car platform. The partnership between the three brands will also lead to increased sharing of technology, particularly relating to electric cars.
First new Datsun in decade sketched, set for Indian reveal
Mon, 01 Jul 2013Nissan's Datsun nameplate revival will begin with two models bound for the Indian market. Nissan has released sketches of a five-door hatchback based on the Micra (codenamed K2) and a top-down view of a hood that could potentially be from a sedan.
The company's press release says all will be revealed on July 15 in New Delhi, India. The Datsun lineup will be first offered in 2014 to that country's ride-deprived residents as well as Indonesia and Russia. Later in 2014, South Africa will join the list.
We've heard Nissan plans for Datsuns to share platforms with company-owned Lada. In January, we heard the projected price tag could be around $3,000 USD to compete with Chinese imports. The official press release (which can be read in full below) says nothing about either of these reports, however.
