1992 300zx Twin Turbo on 2040-cars

Year:1992 Mileage:175000

For auction a nice Nissan 300ZX 1992 TWIN TURBO Z32, mechanically restored. It has a Japanese twin turbo engine replacement and transmission with about 40,000 miles but the body has 175K. The car has new silicone racing red turbo hoses and blue radiator hoses. Kenwood CD stereo system with the stock Bose speakers. I installed new aluminum pedals. The suspension is in great shape and the "Sport/Touring" setting button still works fine. The turbos are like brand new without play in the shafts and no leaks. Jackson Racing downpipes 2 1/2" inner diameter and more than half of the exhaust pipes are 3" diameter, including the brand new free flow mufflers, made of polished stainless steel and real carbon fiber, with 4" titanium look tips (silencer caps included). The car sounds awesome!! This car will be a nice drag race track vehicle for a beginner. A bunch of vacuum lines and gasoline lines were changed in the engine swap. The A/C needs new condenser and Freon charge.  The heater is working fine.  4 Wheel Brake disk calipers with new red paint and new Brembo stickers front and rear. This car is 4-Wheel Steering ( the rear tires move 1 deg.) You could extract out of this engine 675 hp without opening it. Right now it has only 20 to 30 extra hp over the stock 300hp = 330hp, due to the exhaust system and the new aftermarket air intake high flow filter. I have clear title in hand, ready to go.  Priced to sell fast! No Reserve! It is a good deal considering it has upgraded wheels, exhaust, intake, brakes and engine replacement.  The car is locally offered for sale, so I reserve the right to stop the auction.  Perfect option for a spare car if you have an expensive European sport car, or for a student to go to college. You will never find any twin turbo sport car like Supra, Mazda RX-7, Porsche, etc. this cheap!  Happy bidding! NO RESERVE.

Did Amazon just deliver a car in a giant box?

Tue, 07 Jan 2014

Back in September, reports started rolling in that Amazon would get into the auto sales business after a promo for the Nissan Versa Note appeared on the online retailer's page. That link didn't actually sell a car, but instead acted as a referral service for potential customers, linking them up with dealers. A recent image that's been floating around on Reddit and that was picked up by The Huffington Post, though, has us wondering if Amazon has dove into the actual business of selling cars, rather than just referring people to dealers.
The image, above, shows an enormous Amazon box on the back of a flatbed tow truck. According to HuffPo, this could be one of the cars sold through the earlier promotion for the Versa Note (which was sweetened with the addition a $1,000 Amazon gift card). Apparently, three of the Versas purchased would arrive in such a fashion. Then again, this could all be nothing more than an elaborate publicity stunt. Amazon is, after all, the company has been touting drone delivery of its goods.
What do you think is in the box? Let us know down in Comments. Bonus points for those that come up with an idea as absurd as the bulk order of banana slicers HuffPo mentioned.

2013 Nissan NV200

Mon, 30 Dec 2013

Moving is not fun. On the scale of adult activities, it ranks somewhere between taxes and jury duty. Boxes need to be loaded, furniture needs to be lifted and the entire affair is typically fueled by a combination of pizza, beer and pain killers (a combo my friends affectionately refer to as "moving fuel"). It's not fun, and it's rarely easy.
While it doesn't make the activity any more enjoyable, having the right vehicle for the job is the difference between loading and unloading half a dozen times and doing it once or twice. When taken as a whole, a proper moving van can shave hours off a day of labor, not to mention untold years of physical and mental stress for those who must take to their wheels every day.
That truism was borne out once again when I borrowed a loaded Nissan NV200 SV to help my girlfriend move into her new house. The little Nissan was a comfortable and able companion throughout the day, managing everything from a mattress and box springs to countless boxes of clothes, dishes and other necessities. Throughout the day, the NV impressed not just with the amount of stuff it could fit in its cavernous back end, but with the features it had to make moving anything easier.

Renault appoints Dacia Logan creator to head its Nano-rival program in India

Sat, 29 Dec 2012

After watching the Tata Nano post sales numbers smaller than its engine displacement, Renault gave up on its much publicized intention to build a truly inexpensive car to rival it. Then, a month ago, reports emerged that Renault was resuming work on a couple of low-priced cars for emerging markets, but this time it would work with its in-house partner, Nissan. That plan envisions an offering for €3,000 ($3,888 US) and another for €5,000 ($6,400 US), both of which would be more spendy than the Nano but might avoid the charge of being cheap - and nasty - and instead be considered affordable.
A report in Reuters talks to the man in charge, Gerard Detourbet, who has been in Chennai, India since at least August working on the program. Detourbet led the Dacia Logan project and is considered "Renault's low-cost car specialist" and "the father of entry-car programs." This one is reportedly codenamed A-Entry and will create a "'sub-entry' architecture" that will provide roominess beyond the vehicle's price and class, and use an engine with a displacement of 800 cubic centimeters.
It isn't aimed at the Nano, though - it means to take on the products that make up 45-50 percent of India's car market, like the Maruti Suzuki Alto and Hyundai Eon. According to Reuters, out of the 2.6-million-strong Indian car market the Maruti Suzuki line-up alone nabs one million registrations annually. The Alto 800 begins at 244,000 rupees ($4,440 US), the Eon at 300,000 rupees ($5,559 US), the Chevrolet Spark at about 316,000 ($5,750 US); if Renault can nail its price targets it will just about bracket those three and be right in the game.
