This is a 1993 Nissan 300zx with 123XXX miles and a CLEAR BLUE title. I've had it for about a year and half and it's been a fun weekend driver. It still drives great and turns heads on the road. I'm selling it because I have too many other projects going and need to free up some space and money.

I did some extensive work on the car when I got it:
1. All new valve cover gaskets and plenum gasket
2. All brittle hoses have been replaced, including many coolant hoses
3. New cam and crank shaft seals
4. New timing belt, autotensioner, and idler pulleys
5. New water pump
6. New underdriven crank pulley
7. New accessory drive belts
8. New radiator
9. New AC condensor
10. New battery
11. Bypassed the cooling circuit to the throttle bodies
12. Thoroughly cleaned and degreased the entire engine
13. Painted the valve covers
14. Removed most of the flaking tint from the rear windshield

Things that still work:
1. The AC needs a charge, but I replaced the condensor, so should be in good shape
2. Driver seat power functions work
3. Power windows working
4. T tops work and don't leak
5. Comes with both original and aftermarket radio with popout screen (not currently installed)
6. All inside and outside lights, brights, fog lights
7. Kill switch (anti-theft device)

Things that need work:
1. Cracked windshield
2. Exhaust leak in one of the lines beneath the car
3. Possible small vacuum leak under the hood, but car still runs well.
4. Front left steering boot needs to be replaced.
5. Not urgent, but could use new tires and brake pads.
6. Rip in the driver seat leather.
7. The tachometer only works sporadically
8. The lock on the driver side door can't be unlocked from the outside.
9. Some dings in the side doors
10. Some flaking clear coat on the hood, and on the front and rear bumpers.

Nissan Leaf all-electric taxis start pilot program in NYC [w/video]

Tue, 23 Apr 2013

When New York City picked the Nissan NV200 as its Taxi of Tomorrow, many were surprised that the vehicle wasn't electric, or even a hybrid for that matter. With NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg on hand, Nissan celebrated Earth Day on Monday by unveiling a pilot program of electric taxis for the city consisting of six 2013 Nissan Leaf EVs, which the mayor referred to as the "taxi of the day after tomorrow."
This pilot program is aimed to show how EVs can operate as taxi cabs, and Mayor Bloomberg said that New York City hopes to have a third of its taxi fleet electrified by 2020. In addition to the six cars, Nissan has also provided three quick chargers around Manhattan, allowing the Leafs to get an 80-percent recharge in just 30 minutes.
According to David Yassky, commissioner of the NYC Taxi and Limousine Commission, "What we have to do now is figure out how you integrate the charging of an electric vehicle into the duty of a taxi cab."

NA auto output to reach 11-year peak

Thu, 13 Jun 2013

According to Automotive News, automakers are expected to manufacture 16 million light vehicles in North America in 2013. That's up 500,000 units from last year and marks the largest number since 2002. The prediction comes courtesy of LMC Automotive and IHS Automotive, which point to the improving US economy as a bellwether for total production. LMC Automotive says North America will produce 16 million vehicles while IHS has a slightly more optimistic forecast of 16.1 million units. A total of seven automakers are slated to increase production on the continent this year. Nissan is set to see the largest jump at 20 percent over last year.
Volkswagen, meanwhile, is one of the only manufacturers predicted to scale back production. Analysts expect the German company's output to fall by 23 percent to 170,000 units, thanks in part to slow demand for the Volkswagen Passat and Jetta.

2015 Nissan Micra

Mon, 19 May 2014

Several years ago, poutine started showing up on the menus of a number of Detroit-area restaurants. For those unfamiliar with the Canadian specialty, it involves serving up french fries, gravy and cheese curds all in one artery-clogging heap. It's not really my thing, but the comfort-food dish has caught hold here in The D, and many absolutely swear by it. In a country where we happily serve Double Down sandwiches, and where competitive eating qualifies as sport, it's hard to believe le poutine isn't spreading like wildfire.
Given Detroit's proximity to Canada, it's not surprising that this culinary creation has managed to find its way across the border. The same thing goes for cars - we Detroiters are routinely privy to lots of Great White North imports. No, we can't buy not-for-US vehicles like the Nissan X-Trail, Mercedes-Benz B-Class (at least, the gasoline version), or now-discontinued products like the Honda Civic-based Acura CSX or EL before it. But Ontario-plated examples of these cars can be seen all the time here in southeast Michigan - it's a far more common occurrence than you might think.
These days, it's rare that an automaker will introduce a model to Canada without offering it up in the United States - especially a car that stands to do big things for a company's presence in North America. But with this 2015 Nissan Micra, that's exactly what's happened; Nissan's US arm has repeatedly stated that there are no plans to offer the car in Yankeeland. Why is the Micra so important? This five-door hatchback enters Canada with the coveted title of being the most affordable new car in the country: just $9,998 Canadian (CAD) to start. In fact, the Micra launches to our north just as the larger, four-door Versa Sedan is phased out in Canada - a vehicle that holds the lowest-cost title here in the US, at $11,990 USD.
