Up for sale is a 1989 Nissan Skyline GT-R [BNR32-001853]

This vehicle was purchased from one owner in Japan.  The previous owner kept this vehicle in immaculate condition and in its stock form without modification to the interior or exterior, less the fog lights and NISMO cat-back exhaust system you see on this.

I chose to purchase this vehicle because of the rarity of it's condition. The miles you see on this vehicle is original, and unlike some of the vehicles you see for sale on eBay or elsewhere in the US and some including in Canada, the miles on this vehicle have not been tampered, rolled back or replaced with a secondary gauge cluster.  Buyer beware of those who lurk to take advantage of naive buyers with quick scams and deceptive sales points.  The proof is in the documentation as this is something I ensured to obtain from the previous owner as it was very important to me prior to purchase.  The vehicle (as can be seen from the images, and video files as well as an in-person look) will no doubt show proof of the care that was taken by the previous owner to preserve this vehicles chassis (exterior and interior) condition.  The drive-train, wire harness (engine, cabin and rear) have never been cut, spliced or tampered with.  The shocks, wheels down to the tires are in their original state of condition.  That said, the previous owner (as can also be seen from the original miles) has only used this vehicle from time-to-time thus preserving the drive-trains overall health.

This vehicle has been legally entered into the US commerce with proper DOT and EPA documentation filed and approved.  All customs duty and entry documentation fees have been paid and this vehicle is now located in Orange County, California.  Rest assured that you will not be buying a lemon or some beat to hell, defective, high mileage rust bucket.

Nismo mashes it up with Sentra 370Z and Altima GT-R

Mon, 11 Aug 2014

Nismo was a tuning division once content (or required) to restrict itself to just one or two models at a time, but these days Nissan is taking the gloves off and allowing its motorsport department to tune just about everything's it's got.
Now in its thirtieth year, Nismo tunes versions of the GT-R, 370Z, Juke and Versa Note, and will soon be working its magic on the Sentra and European-market Qashqai and Pulsar. And that's not even taking into account its considerable racing programs. At this rate, Nismo is going to run out of vehicles to tune pretty quickly, so what has it done? Invent new ones!
No, we're afraid that Nissan is not letting its Nismo division produce its own stand-alone product, but it has released two sets of amusing renderings combining two vehicles into one. One depicts a GT-R crossed with a Teana sedan (better known in these parts at the Altima), while the other crosses a Sentra with a 370Z.

Williams developing hybrid system for next Nissan GT-R?

Mon, 30 Sep 2013

Back in June, Nissan announced a new partnership with Williams that would see the Formula One team's applied sciences division help develop a new line of Nismo performance models. It's not the only agreement Renault-Nissan has signed with an F1 team: Infiniti is the title sponsor for Red Bull and Renault powers four teams on the grid. It's also just the latest client Williams has signed a deal with to apply the lessons it has gleaned on the F1 circuit to other racing and sportscars. But now we've got some more info on how Williams and Nismo intend to collaborate on the next-generation GT-R.
According to Australia's Carsales, Williams Advanced Engineering is developing the hybrid powertrain that will boost the next iteration of the supercar-slayer known as Godzilla. Which may seem strange considering that the Renault-Nissan Alliance has plenty of experience with electric propulsion on its own, but then Williams has proven itself something of a leader in the field of performance hybrid powertrains: it supplies them to Porsche and Audi for their Le Mans racecars, and to Jaguar for the C-X75 concept.
Whether Williams and Nismo will settle on a flywheel-based energy recovery system or a more conventional battery-powered system remains to be seen, but brakeforce regeneration likely won't be the only element that Williams will develop for the next GT-R. Expect its expertise in aerodynamics and composites to come to bear as well, which can only mean good things for the replacement for a sportscar that's already one of the most capable on the road.

2014 Nissan Rogue

Fri, 01 Nov 2013

When I first started in this whole automotive journalism biz, I held a sort of hodgepodge receptionist/gopher/production assistant role, and each morning as the staff filed in, I'd ask them how they liked whatever car they were assigned to drive the previous night. Most of my colleagues would regale me with anecdotes about how good or bad a vehicle was, but one co-worker, every single morning, would answer my query with the exact same phrase: "It was fine."
I always assumed this was just a brush-off, an "ask me again after I've had a cup of coffee" sort of response. But then I found myself in a similar moment of brevity following the launch of the 2014 Nissan Rogue earlier this week. After returning home, a friend asked me what I thought of the new Rogue, and I replied, word for word, "It was fine."
And, well, it was. Nothing worth wasting exclamation points over, good or bad. Aside from something like the interesting-to-drive Mazda CX-5 or funky-looking Jeep Cherokee, nothing in this class really tries to set the world on fire. And that, right there, is fine. Nissan doesn't need to do anything crazy with its second-generation Rogue. It just needs to offer a well-equipped crossover that's handsome, functional, efficient and priced right - sticking to the same formula that made the first-generation model so successful while offering the latest crop of creature comforts in a more modern package.
