2012 Nissan GT-R Premium !!!Pristine Condition, 23755 Miles, All Services Completed, Professional Paint Correction Completed w/ opti-coat pro applied!!! Today I am placing my pride and joy up for sale. It is a 2012 Nissan GT-R Premium that I've only owned for about 6 short months. I am the second owner, and the previous owner was an older gentleman who took perfect care of the car. When I bought the car, there weren't any black box blemishes (sad faces or frowns)and all the services were completed as scheduled. I bought the vehicle with ~18K miles on it and after purchase, I completed the $3,000 18K mile transmission service. The tires only have approximately 6,000 miles on them as well. After purchase I hired one of the premier professional car detailers in the country to come by and complete a 3-stage paint correction for those nasty swirl marks and apply opti-coat pro which comes with a lifetime warranty. The car should never have to be waxed again, unless you just like to spend a warm weekend day with your car taking care of it. The professional detail plus additional pictures and other information can be found below: His website where he details mine and other exotic vehicles up to and including the Bugatti Veyron can be found. Please go to his portfolio page and you will be able to see the work he completed on my 2012 GT-R: ***BECAUSE OF EBAY RULES: I have to tell you where to go to see the detail work on the GT-R, please go to bing and type in "detail by vinny" and click on his link. Under his portfolio section you will see the 2012 Red GT-R and be able to access the information and pictures.*** The car is completely stock and has never been driven hard. I take complete care of all my stuff, so have confidence that everything is perfect. The only 'modifications' that I have made to the vehicle is that I have changed most of the interior lights out with LEDs that look better and provide more light. I have also done a 'modification' that keeps the daytime running lights on at night when the headlights are in use. Both of these 'modifications' enhance the look of the car when driving. I still have a lien on the car so payment arrangements and inspections can be scheduled easily. The car still has a factory warranty remaining on the vehicle up to 36,000 miles or ends sometime in 2014. I will look up the warranty and post the exact date that it expires later. A clean 'black box' check can be made on the vehicle at the buyers request and that will verify the existence of a good warranty and so this will be a 'no worries' auction. Of course the car is sold as-is with no warranty provided by me, but I will work with giving the potential buyer piece of mind before purchase. I sold a Nissan Frontier to someone in TX recently and the transaction was perfect with all parties completely satisfied. Please feel free to email me with any questions as this is my second GT-R and can answer most questions you may have. I can also help persons looking to buy one to know what they should look for to be sure that they are buying a pampered GT-R. Thanks & Good Luck!!!

Nissan alters all CVTs to act less like a stretched rubberband

Tue, 15 Jul 2014

Among automotive enthusiasts, no one seems to hold a neutral opinion when it comes to continuously variable transmissions. CVTs are either praised for their ability to boost fuel economy or chided for their occasionally poor driving dynamics. Nissan is among the masters of these un-shifting gearboxes in the US, and it uses them in many vehicles in its lineup. However, for the 2015 model year, several models are getting a software update to make their CVTs a bit more like a conventional automatic.
To give drivers the option of feeling gearshifts while on the road, Nissan is adding its D-Step Shift Logic feature to the CVTs in multiple vehicles. Steve Powers, Nissan's senior manager of powertrain performance, told Autoblog the system forces the transmission to "hold a ratio and then shift" to simulate the way that a traditional automatic would. It's simply a change in software, but the company "can't do it to older CVTs," he said, because it would require changes to transmission logic, as well. According to Automotive News, the upgrade is coming to the 2015 Versa, Versa Note (pictured above), Sentra, V6-equipped Altima, Pathfinder and Quest. "We're rolling it out to all programs," said Powers.
Interestingly, buyer perception appears to be pushing the upgrade. John Curl, a Nissan North America regional product manager, told Automotive News that the decision to add the tech partially comes because some owners are bothered that the CVTs aren't changing gears. According to Powers, D-Step "avoids the rubber band feel," that many drivers didn't like. The different sensation of these transmissions seems like something consumers would notice during the test drive, or that the salesperson would inform them about. The same issue cropped up last year when the company was facing customer satisfaction problems among new buyers customers' unfamiliarity with the gearboxes.

Nissan to unveil next-gen Qashqai on Nov. 7

Wed, 30 Oct 2013

Never heard of the Nissan Qashqai? That's alright, because Nissan has a big crossover lineup, and this one is only sold overseas. But in the markets where it's available, it's been an unbridled success and the cash-cow its name suggests. It was introduced in 2007, and by the end of that year, Nissan had already sold 100,000 of them in Europe alone. By 2011 it had made a million of them, and to date has sold over two million worldwide. And now it's preparing to launch an all-new model to replace it.
Spied while undergoing development a few months ago, Nissan has now announced that it will reveal the new Qashqai on November 7th. But to keep us on our toes, the Japanese automaker has released this teaser image.
Cloaked and looking like something out of Tron, the new Qashqai promises to borrow heavily from the Resonance concept shown earlier this year in Detroit (a bit ironic since the Qashqai isn't sold here) and follow the lead of the new Rogue (or X-Trail as its known in markets where it shares showroom floorspace with the Qashqai).

2014 Nissan GT-R [w/video]

Chasing The Legend
There are only a handful of vehicles in existence that can change you permanently - ones that have the power to rewire your concept of speed to fit their definition. Some five years after the Nissan GT-R legally touched down here in the US for the first time, the coupe is still bending perceptions of what it means to be a supercar in the modern age. For 2014, engineers reworked the GT-R's twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V6 engine for more power, tweaked the transmission and massaged the suspension for ever more speed. Yes, that's right, I said more speed.
The changes have sharpened one of the best performance buys on the market into a weapons-grade track assault vehicle that just so happens to be street legal. More than ever, this is a car that rankles established supercar players with names like Lamborghini, Ferrari and Porsche, and does so with a Nissan badge on the hood.
